Overall this is a good phone in a lower price range. It is a tall phone with a smaller width. People with smaller hands should be able to grip it better at least. It's not a top of the line so some items like wireless charging, headphones etc are not included, but they are not critical items, headphones are cheap and easy to find. It's a good value phone with Android 9 to boot. On the plus side, it has a great screen, fingerprint unlocking, NFC, BT and all the other standard features you'd expect in a phone. Battery life seems decent so far. I loaded in a SIM car from my old phone and was on my carriers’ network immediately. The SD card slot worked with no issue once installed. Transferring over information to the phone was easy. Make sure you update the OS as soon as you can. Wifi connection was good and fast on both bands. The slimmer width makes it easy to use with one hand. 64GB of storage with a SD card is plenty of room for apps and pictures or videos. The camera is decent. All of my apps ran fine, and processor kept up, I didn’t notice any slowdowns in normal use. There are some cons. The SD card was painful to removal. The SIM card slides out attached to the cover, yet the SD card is in a different unattached tray. I couldn't remove it with my fingers. I had to get some small pliers to grasp it and pull it out. Sliding it back in was easier, but not hassle free. You push in and it locks in place. Then you slide the SIM card back in, but how often do you change SD cards? The other issue is with the fingerprint reader. The reader is on the left side of the phone and pretty slim, and it was hard to get good reads. I added another finger and seems to be working better. It seems to be really picky when reading a finger to unlock, more so than other phones, I've had. When closing apps, after bringing up the open apps window, you flick them away one at a time. But, you have to be careful, you pull up open apps from the bottom of the screen by flicking up on the home button, if you're off a little you bring up the apps on the phone list. It's easy to miss for me and I get the wrong menu. This isn’t a top of the line phone, Sony has made a solid good value for the money product. Like any Android phone it works with all the apps I tried and has standard array of features. The extra bells and whistles aren’t there, but they are not expected either. If you’re not looking to spend $1000 or more a top of the line phone, give this one a try.

It's not the snappiest phone, it's not the quickest and best. Coming form a Moto G4 it's a huge improvement. The notification light is helpful, the pictures turn out crisp, the extra screen real estate is amazing. For consuming 21:9, e-mails, and other non-gaming related app this is the phone aspect ratio to get.

I've now had this phone for 2 weeks and am happy with it for the most part. When I first received it, I expected quite a bit more from a phone 2 years newer than my Moto G5+. Sadly it underwhelmed me more than I thought it would. I got used to Moto phones with their shortcuts and quirks so I knew going to a new setup would be different. For starters, it comes with a 7.5w charger?! Basically what I use to charge my watch in half hour takes 3 hrs for the phone. Because it's USB-C, I can't hook up my 25w charger from the Moto. Fortunately my ipad 15w charger fits and manages to fully charge the device from 10% to full in just over an hour. The screen is 6" though since it's a slimmer width, you're actually losing real estate to that of a comparable 5.5" screen at a standard 16:9. That said, it has soft corners and edges making it comfortable to hold in one hand and even those with small fingers can make use of the side bar shortcut screen to do what they do most. The screen is crisp with good depth of color and soft edges. It's a bit slower than expected for a new phone to open apps due to Sony's decision to put the same 630 chipset that came with my 2 year old phone. the 64GB memory and 3GB ram is good and on par with other phones in this class. The cameras are very good at capturing indoor scenes, not sure I see much difference from my 12mp shooter in my old phone though, given that this one has 2 lenses. My major gripe is with the notifications; you get an audible alert then a small light that blips every 20 seconds. The screen doesn't show anything regarding the type of message. Tapping the screen or lifting it do nothing; a button needs to be pressed in order to activate it. My old phone needed only a wave of the hand over the proximity sensor to view status on the screen. I found an app that reliably handles tilt to wake function so that's settled. The fingerprint reader is not very accurate and doesn't read my thumb half of the time; I would guess this is because its been allocated to the side thus reducing it readable area. The face recognition doesn't work at all, even after in learn and varying lighting conditions. Pricewise, there are better phones out there in the same class with better features and lower price to boot. When comparing to its closest rival, the Moto G7, its considerably lacking both technically and aesthetically. Like anything Sony, you should expect to pay a premium for branding, though they're discreet enough to put it on the back where the fingerprint reader should also be. It's a capable phone with a battery that lasts all day; it's just a little overpriced.

good HD resolution for reading text the 21:9 aspect is a bit interesting kind of wish I had gotten the larger "plus" model, though the camera does not perform well in low-light conditions

I am not usually a size queen but on this phone . . . I am - it was way too long and difficult to handle - normally I like them long and skinny but not with my phone - SONY's stock music player was horrible and no customization and I bought this phone just to use as an iPod Classic replacement - nice try SONY, nice try! I never activated it or used it for it's purpose . . .
