If you are looking for a compact, single-hand Android device, there is not a better option. Flagship specs, including a fantastic camera set make this the only real contender in this space. As other users have stated, the fingerprint scanner does not work on the US-spec phone. The hardware is there, but disabled in software due to some agreement Sony has made with Verizon. I was at first disappointed that the fingerprint scanner was not functional, but quickly got over my disappointment as the location-enabled auto-unlock means I rarely have to unlock my phone at home or work anyways. The wide-angle selfie camera is the best I've seen on a phone, and not only takes great pictures, but ensures you aren't stretching your arm into next week to get everyone in the shot. Battery life is good, and I can often go a day and a half on a single charge (though always charge it at night for convenience).

After researching a few phones under 5.2" inches I came accoss the XZ1 Compact. The XZ1 Compact has held up to my expectations thus far as it is the perfect size for an active person like myself. The phone has a solid build quality and has great overall performance/ specs with fantastic battery life. I wish the phone was thinner with less bezels but this didn't deter me from buying the phone as it checked all my must haves.

The XZ1 Compact has awesome battery life. I easily make it from early in the morning to late at night. Battery life is one of the most important features for me. The camera also takes really great pictures. I go to concerts a lot and was impressed from the photos. The front facing camera has this action cam lens that is really wide which makes for fun videos and snapchats. I do miss the fingerprint sensor but after a little googling that wasn't hard to get it up and running.

The phone is amazing overall. The fingerprint scanner does not work with the software installed on the phone out of the box. The battery life is very good and it works with T Mobile VoLTE band 12, WiFi calling, and has HD voice. The signal strength is even better than the T Mobile Z3. Currently I'm unable to get android pay to work though.

You'd have a hard time with Bluetooth, fingerprint, etc. My phone is not functioning 2 weeks after the warranty period.

This phone is great. The size is compact enough to fit any pockets. Performance is very good. Excellent camera with Super Slow motion camera and 3D Scanning.

Love this phone! It's beautiful and stylish. The phone fits perfectly in my hand. The display is amazing, and so is the camera.

Great phone and great size. I bought this phone on 2018 and I'm still using it as for December 2022. Its a workhorse. I've drop it many times and its been under water with no issues. It even runs Insta360 app when "its not supposed to". Great battery life.

I had a Sony Xperia Compact phone that had a defective microphone. The sound was quiet and muffled to anyone listening on the other end. By the time I realized how serious this problem was, it was too late to return the phone, but I expected I would be covered under Sony’s warranty. I was WRONG. Sony does not stand behind any product sold on the Internet. They will tell you the device was not sold by an authorized seller, so they will not honor the warranty. Why should it matter where you buy the phone? If you buy it brand new, and it has Sony’s name on it, Sony should stand by their warranty. What is worse is that Sony gave me a return authorization number, so I actually did send the phone in before they notified me that it would be returned without being repaired. It took ONE FULL MONTH just for them to return it. I doubt they could have fixed the problem anyway. In summary, my experience is that Sony makes low quality junk, and they do not stand behind it.

The only reason I am not giving this phone 5 stars is that the wifi sucks. It will drop the wifi signal several times per day. Sometimes to get the wifi back I have to reboot the phone. It will sometime disconnect even when I am within four feet of my wifi. If you don't use your phone for internet it is great. If you do use it for internet there are others that are much better.
