Customers express satisfaction with the Xperia XZ2's camera, praising its ability to take crystal clear pictures. The phone's battery life is also well-received, with users describing it as "top notch." While some find the design simple and clean, others criticize the phone for being slippery. I am real happy with this phone so far. I've only had it for a month. Great, clear screen;easy to use; great camera. Every now and then it seems to freeze for a couple of seconds but i haven't figured it out if it's me or the phone. When i figure that out i will increase to five stars.

After research and coming from galaxy s7 and htc 10 i decided to give sony a try and don't regret it. Camera is good, bluetooth in my car sounds great, better than htc or Samsung. I went to the store and they have it on display at sanford store, the best buy said it was not on display. I will recommend.

My previous phone was a Motorola G5 Plus. The Sony XZ2 is a really nice upgrade for me. It has a better camera, wireless charging, NFC for Android Pay, and comparable battery life (which is fantastic). My wife has a Pixel 2 XL. This phone can usually take photos that are close to as good as the Pixel 2, and can sometimes even best it. The performance is excellent and close to stock Android which I love. Sony updates the phone often and it is already on Android P (Pie) which many phones from 2018 are still not. I have a TPU case, and I would recommend that to anyone. Adds almost no bulk, but it protects the phone from drops. I absolutely love this phone. If there is any negative, it is fairly thick compared to other flagship phones. That being said, it is not any thicker than my previous phone, so it does not bother me at all. I got the Open-Box with Excellent Condition. It is an amazing deal. I highly recommend it. Just under $300!

The phone itself is a great device. It functions better than expected and is easy to use and customize. The disappointment comes when you realize you can't find cases or screen protectors for it anywhere. The screen has the slightest drop-off at the edges, so no other screen protectors will fit it. Also, there are 3 models of this phone for this year, so you have to make sure that the case you buy has the camera lens and fingerprint reader in the right location.

Ever since seeing the redesign of the Experia line I’ve wanted to get the XZ2. I’ve used the previous models and they were never something I wanted to use on a daily basis so I never kept them very long. My biggest complaint from the previous models too was how the camera compared to the completion and the Sony models just didn’t cut it for me, the XZ2 has changed everything. The phone came nicely boxed, and included a fast charger, USB C cable, a USB C to audio jack to use the included wired ear buds, some replacement domes for the buds and some paperwork. The phone had a plastic cover over the screen and a small piece on the back of the phone. The body of the phone itself is a big change from the old Sony design, it’s no longer squared and boxy feeling. The old design of their phones did feel very sturdy and heavy duty but I could never find them very comfortable to hold on to. The new design has everything rounded slightly with the back having a nice rounded design “sort of reminds me of the Nexus 6 shape” but the back is covered in very glossy and slick glass. It looks nice but it’s also slippery and a fingerprint magnet. That won’t bother me at all since I’ll be putting a case on it right away. The glass on the front is edge to edge going right up to the frame of the phone with a nice curve going into it so there’s no sharp feeling edges. This may make finding a glass screen protector that doesn’t have a halo effect around the edge hard to find but I’ll probably end up going with a wet apply flexible protector like I did on the S8+. There’s a single USB C port on the bottom edge, nothing on the top or left edges, then the Camera, Power and Volume Rocker are all on the right edge. The speakers are actually front facing, the bottom being right at the edge of the glass between it and the frame, and the upper earpiece serving as the upper speaker. I like this setup, its true stereo and I’ve always found my hand blocking the bottom firing speaker of the S8+. I have hearing problems and these front firing speakers were very welcome. Also on the front “top” is the front “selfie” Camera, sensors and a notification LED, “something they all should have”. Then on the back you have the Fingerprint reader, Camera, Flash, and a couple sensors. The XZ2 also has built in wireless charging, that’s about the only way I charge my phones anymore and won’t buy one without it, “really no reason for it not to be there”. We have quite a few wireless chargers around the house and we each have one in our vehicle. My wife also has an external battery pack that has wireless charging built in and it works perfectly with it. It’s just so much simpler to use that over having to plug it in. We would still use the just in case the phone was really low on power and needed a quick charge though. The fingerprint reader is just barely above center, it’s a little lower than the G6s reader but it’s in a whole lot better location over the S8+. I’ve put my finger on the camera a couple times while getting use to the lower placement but that’s a lot better than constantly hitting the camera on the S8+, the reader on that is in just an odd location and not easy to reach at all. I’m more than happy with the location of the reader on the XZ2. The speed it unlocks the phone is almost instantaneous and I didn’t have any problems with it reading my finger. It would be nice if they added some functionality to the reader other than just reading fingerprints, hopefully they will address that in the near future. The sim card slot doesn’t have the normal small hole and tool you have to use “and loose”, to get the tray out. It has an indentation next to the door and using a fingernail or credit card edge, you pop out the tray. I really like this as I’m constantly losing the sim tray tools. After powering up, connecting to my Wi-Fi network, signing into Google there were three system updates right off, the first one was around 120mb, the second was 420mb, the third I didn’t catch the size but all required a reboot. I had to program in the APN, which was easy to find under the menu and then made a couple test calls. Everyone I spoke with sounded clear and they didn’t have any problems hearing me, so I call that a success. The signal strength compared to the S8+ according to the LTE discovery app was about 2db less, not much but it was a little less. I use T-Mobile and with the S8+ it supported Voice over Wi-Fi, I have not been able to find that option and hopefully they will address that issue also although I rarely use it, but it’s nice to have as a backup. The Screen is a big change for Sony, it’s a 5.7” screen, a little bit bigger than the 5.5” screen of the XZ: Premium, and is the newer 19:8 aspect ratio, just like the S8+ and G6. The new aspect ratio has really grown on me, I like how it helps make the phone narrower and easier to hold, especially using it one handed. The S8+ is quite large still, and almost too much for single handed use, I actually prefer the size of the XZ2 over it. The XZ2 screen is still a LCD panel but Sony has always had excellent LCD panels and, this one really stands out. It’s very clear and from an angle only the brightness changes, the colors really don’t shift at all from what I can see. My S8+ has the OLED and personally I could use either. The only thing I’ve never cared for with the OLED panels is the possibility of screen burn in. The XZ2s panel is very clear, the black levels are nice and deep, deeper looking over the G6 but naturally not as deep as the S8+ but I’d rather compare like panels than totally different technologies. It was also nice to see that the Sony launcher lets you customize a lot of things, it’s much better than the Samsung’s and I ended up using Nova Launcher on that. The G6 is about the same for being customizable. The XZ2 let me do enough customizing that I won’t need to use Nova on it, which was a pretty big surprise, as I’ve used Nova for year as the manufacturers never let me tweak things exactly the way I like. I do wish they would let you use icon packs, but it looks like that may be possible in the future as there is an option to reset the icons back to normal, just no way I can see to change them. The weight of the phone really surprised me, with cases on the G6 comes in at 7.3oz, the S8+ at 8.4oz and the XZ2 is 8.3, the G6 and S8+ have dual layer heavy duty cases, and the XZ2 has a thin TPU so it would probably end up heavier than the S8+. The build feels very sturdy and well built, and like the other Sony phones I’ve used in the past. The curved back glass, while looking really nice is super slipper and a major fingerprint magnet. It has already slid off my desk and survived the fall to the floor. And I’ve noticed if you set it down it has a tendency to move around on its own. Luckily I was able to find a TPU case for it before I had received it and that took care of the sliding around and slippery feeling problem, although you really shouldn’t have to put up with that but I can live with it. I happen to like the curved back feel, it’s more comfortable for me to hold on to. I’ve used the camera a few times, took some outdoor pictures, and did a comparison between the G6, S8+ and XZ2. I set them all on maximum resolution, automatic mode in 16:9. Full screen the pictures all look pretty close and would hard to tell apart, plenty good for sharing online. But when you start zooming in, even just a little you can immediately see the G6 image isn’t as detailed. Zooming in even further you can see the S8+ images start to loose detail, especially in the shadows. I’m very pleased with the image quality that the XZ2 has shown so far and I’ll be shooting a lot more in the future. I also tried the super slow motion video and was really impressed with the video quality, it’s outstanding for slow motion. Getting it to shoot wasn’t the easiest though, you have to pick the mode from the small icon above the record button then you have to start the recording and then press the slow motion button to start the capture. It would be nice if they just had it start when you pressed the record button but it does work. Sony really has changed things with the XZ2, not so much that you can’t tell it’s a Sony design and it’s enough of a difference from the other manufacturers that it doesn’t look like everything else out there. I’m really happy with the phone and it’s going to take a while for me to figure out everything this can do. So far battery life seems just as good as the S8+ or the G6 I just haven’t had it long enough to do a good comparison. Overall this is an excellent phone with just a couple small flaws that are easy to overlook. I’m not use to the power button location, for me it’s just too low, and the fingerprint reader could be higher but that’s pretty easy to get used to. The super slippery back is probably my biggest complaint, it’s just too slippery and the phone has a tendency to rotate and slide around on its own, fortunately a case takes care of that problem.

Works at first turn on. It Help you getting most things copied from old phone. But not everything got copies automatically. As for system updates. It did 7 system updates in a row to get latest Android. Why can’t Sony package so it gets one full package. Spent like 2-3 hours doing all downloads and updates. After the updates it have worked without issues. Case is a bit slippery and bought a protective case. Display good and visible in sunlight too.

I am happy with the phone's performance since it sports the latest 845 Snapdragon processor. However, I am a little disappointed at the camera. Although the 19MP is enticing on paper, the actual qualities of the photos don't make it seem superior to other same-tier smartphones with lower camera MP. This may be due to the single camera and weaker software that enhances the photos. The photos are still nice, but not as great as the number would make it seem. The phone's overall design is very classy, but my one gripe is that the back is curved so much, the phone will not stop spinning when placed on its back on a flat surface. Would definitely recommend buying a case for this phone. Display is vibrant, and sound qualities for both calls and speaker are great. The finger scanner is a bit lower than I would have liked and would have preferred for it to be located where the camera lens is. The scan is quick and accurate at least. The battery holds well and can easily last me through a day with moderate use; I leave my wifi, data, location and bluetooth on 24/7 - read new and browse reddit occasionally, check mail often, and play games a bit. There was also very little bloatware that came with the phone. Overall the phone is good, but the price is a bit steep for something of this quality. I would have paid somewhere closer to $700~$750 for this phone. The compact may be a better alternative if you don't mind a smaller screen and battery.

Supports all T-Mobile frequencies with aggregation, but does not support VoLTE or Wifi Calling. Good camera and light Android skin. Back may slide around on flat surfaces, so get a protector. A quick charger is included in box along with a USB 2.0 USB-C to USB-A cable. A USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is also included in the box. Fingerprint reader positioning may take some time to get used to.

It was a seamless transition from an older HTC One M9. It has a similar look and feel in a nice sleek package, and it didn't break the bank or contribute to the profits of the monopolistic Samsung and Apple. It wasn't loaded down with a ton of Google apps or any of the AT&T apps. It has only what I really want and need on it. Battery life is really great, too.

I recently switched to the XZ2 from an LG G6 and I couldn't be happier. This phone runs so much smoother with no lag. I honestly can't tell a major difference in screen resolution. The battery life is night and day from the G6. I can easily get 6+ hours of screen time. Overall I would recommend this phone if you can get a good deal for it(open box).

Love the Battery life. My first android phone was a Sony Xperia. I cracked the screen and went with a Samsung S7. After almost 2 years missed the Sony and began to really dislike the Samsung. PROS: * Amazing battery life * Gorgeous display * Dual, front-firing speakers * Quick Charge 3.0 * Wireless charging * Great camera * Water resistant CONS: * No headphone jack * Not compatible with CDMA networks I've always been a fan of Sony products. My first cassette player was a Sony Walkman in 1992. When the price of portable CD players finally came down, I purchased a Sony Discman. I always thought of Sony as high-end, quality products, and I still do. Unfortunately, Sony hasn't had much luck (in the US at least) in the smartphone market. Hopefully, that will change with the new Xperia XZ2. If you're looking for an excelling Android alternative to Samsung or Google, you should really consider this phone. The build quality of this phone is excellent. It has a curved glass back (which makes it extremely slippery, so I would HIGHLY recommend getting a case or putting a skin on it) that feels great to hold in the hand. The front has two front-firing speakers that sound really great. To get those two speakers on the front, Sony did have to add larger bezels to the phone than what you might find from other new phones, but they're still quite minimal and I don't mind at all. The volume rocker, power button, and camera button are all on the same side, which takes some getting used to. The fingerprint scanner (which works in the US, unlike the previous Xperia phones) is on the back, which is very comfortable to use. Even though the XZ2 has a 5.7" screen, it doesn't feel like a large phone to hold in the hand. Like Samsung and Google, Sony went with the taller aspect ratio. Even though it has a larger display than my old iPhone 7+, it's narrower and not as tall, thanks to the smaller bezels, so it feels like a smaller device and is more comfortable to hold and use with one hand. The screen is also GORGEOUS! It's rocking a 1080x2160 HDR display, gets extremely bright, and the colors are vibrant. Movies and games look great (and sound great paired with the front-facing speakers). Combined with an outstanding battery, you can look at that gorgeous display all day long. The battery life is probably one of my favorite things about this phone. The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is not only powerful but is more energy efficient. I charged the phone to full late Wednesday night, used the phone all day Thursday, and didn't have to connect the charger until late Friday morning (see my screenshot). I understand that phone manufacturers want to show off how their new powerful hardware can fit into a thinner body, but I will ALWAYS take a thicker phone in exchange for a battery that will let me actually use the phone all day. When you do connect it to the included charger, you won't have to wait long. I was able to go from 12% to full in just a little over two hours. It supports wireless charging, but I don't know how fast it can charge that way, since I'm lacking a wireless charger (for now). I was initially worried about the camera, since it's lacking OIS, but I'm pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of the camera on the first Google Pixel (which lacked OIS, but used improved EIS). I have yet to take a picture or video that I would complain about. Photos and videos look just as good, if not better, than my old iPhone 7+. My only real complaint is, like many other manufacturers these days, Sony decided to kill off the headphone jack. You do get an adapter in the box to connect your wired headphones to the USB-C port, but I prefer to just use my Bluetooth headphones. If you really need a headphone jack on your phone, this could be a deal-breaker. It's also not compatible with CDMA networks, but since I'm on AT&T, it's not an issue for me. Bottom Line: I would HIGHLY recommend this phone to anyone looking to get a new Android device and wants to stand out from everyone using either a Galaxy S or Pixel 2. It's a powerful phone with a great display and outstanding battery life.
