Customers express satisfaction with the ZV1 II's impressive camera quality and ease of use, praising its ability to capture beautiful images and its user-friendly interface. Many appreciate the camera's compact and portable size, making it ideal for various situations. The Sony ZV-1 II Vlog camera is every content creators dream! Its compact enough to fit in your pocket and lightweight for ease of use on the go. I was surprised at how user friendly navigation was. The ultra wide lens makes it easy to get everything you need within your shot and the zoom lever is a nice touch making a smooth transition zooming in and out. There are so many different settings in the menu so you can get that perfect looking video/image you need. I especially like the soft skin effect when recording my vlogs to enhance my skin tone and smooth out my facial flaws. Even in low lit enviroments I was able to get a clear image. Auto focusing works flawlessly and 4K video quality is top notch as well as the directional audio that goes with it. Even walking while recording the stabilization is buttery smooth, Vlogging and content creation is never halted by busy schedules, travel or finding the right environment. Sonys creators app worked wonderfully allowing me to quickly transfer images, and videos wirelessly from the camera to my phone without hassle. Overall, I highly recommend this camera whether you're a professional or beginner and it's the perfect go-to for your content creating needs especially at this price point.

This Just Might Be the Perfect Vlogging Camera

I haven’t had a digital camera since mobile phones started packing better cameras and when I had the opportunity to review this Sony ZV1-II I had to jump on it. Let’s get into this review with my overall impressions first and then a breakdown of the pros and cons of this camera.
Overall Impresssions:
The Sony ZV-1 II is a great camera for vloggers and content creators. It has a large sensor, which lets it capture excellent image quality in low light. It also has fast and accurate autofocus, which is important for vlogging when you need to keep your subject or yourself in focus. The camera also has a flip-out screen, which is great for vlogging when you want to see yourself in the frame. It also has a built-in microphone and speaker, so you can record and playback your videos without having to carry around extra equipment.
This camera is very suitable to use as a webcam with just one USB cable to connect. It’s also portable and versatile enough to be a portable vlogging camera. The fact that it excels in taking still images is also a huge plus.
One feature when using the Creator’s App from Sony on your phone is the ability to download videos and images straight from your camera via WiFi/Bluetooth, which eliminates the need to remove your SD card every time you want to upload your photos.
Overall, I’d recommend the Sony ZV-1 II as a great option for vloggers and content creators. It's easy to use and has many features that will help you create high-quality videos and still images.
Here are some of the pros and cons of the Sony ZV-1 II:
Pros:
Fantastic image quality
Fast and accurate autofocus
Flip-out screen
Built-in microphone and speaker
Plenty of shooting modes
Product Showcase mode
Background Defocus mode
Cons:
Definitely a little pricey
Battery life could be better
No 4K60p video recording
If you're looking for a great camera for vlogging, the Sony ZV-1 II is a great option, with just a couple of caveats, like the lack of 4k/60fps recording.

Beastly little camera for hobbyists!

I'm a professional videographer!
I have some of the finest equipment you can buy and lots of it for multiple teams.
That is NOT what I use this for.
I brought it to my families lake camper for the Fourth of July.
It was the perfect pocket camera for that occasion.
4k 30 with digital stabilization is good enough for most people wanting to document life!
The zooming lens combined with digital zoom is plenty of range for simple documenting life.
The on camera microphone is passable if you have nothing else.
Fundamentally, it's very sound and I recommend it for hobbiests! If this is you. Get it.
What I ACTUALLY used it for.
I do sales for my video company and spend hours on zoom calls.
This camera was my gateway drug into the Sony ecosystem.
It's small, powerful and most importantly, Sony doesn't arbitrarily hold anything back.
My $2500 full framed Canon is SO fickle when connecting to USB C. I can't charge it while using it and it constantly cuts out on Zoom calls. Fine.
But this little $1k unit charges AND streams (720p) video right out of the camera at the same time with no hassle or setup. Great.
When taking footage of friends and family, it's just a cute little camera, no one gets nervous or takes it too seriously.
My Mom paints for long periods and records her lessons for her students.
My Canon has a 30 min limit and overheats easily.
This badboy has no recording limit, but it will overheat in long recording sessions. Much less than my other cameras even still.
It'll do HDMI CLEAN out at 1 so my mom can stream paintings for her class on a TV.
We never ended up using this, but it worked very easily.
My Canon limits all kinds of functions and turns off the TOUCH SCREEN when plugging in a monitor.
Not this lil guy. Just gets to work with a smile on it's face.
So I returned this camera... for it's bigger brother.
The ZVE1.
THAT thing is a beast. I use it professionally, this one is all you would ever need if you are a hobbiest.
Full menu customization and functionailty, the same ecosystem as it's bigger brothers so you can work all the cameras the same way.
Just so much value in this fun little camera and very good quality for what you're really getting here.
Only con is how poorly it performs in low-light.
Still better than a phone, but not good enough even as a backup for professional use.
Aside from this 10/10 little buddy with great personality.
You'll love busting this thing out! Just get it.
And get some extra batteries too!

I absolutely love this camera! Perfect for beginner vloggers and with the correct flash, it takes good photos as well. I was indecisive between this and the ZV-E10 but I love its durability and compact size. The perfect camera for those who are on the go. I wanted something that made traveling or filming in public convenient. I do think the price is a bit much compared to the other models of this series; however, I purchased mine Open-Box in excellent condition and it was packaged as new! This saved me $300, due to the current sale promo.

Sony's Gives You the Perfect Shot with This One!

Like most of us, I wear multiple hats at work. One of those is shooting, editing, and directing promotional videos, training videos, and marketing products across multiple channels. I would not consider myself a true “professional” in the technical sense but the products I produce are and they have to be! I shoot with portable action cameras, drones, stationary rigs and have been trending to even include an iPhone depending on the job (which is crazy to think they are that good these days). Too many cameras!!!!
Last year, in an attempt to simplify, I got my first reach into the mirrorless vlog cameras with another brand but due to no image stability, I kept going back to other cameras. I was really hoping to have the “one camera” that could do it all for me. AND I THINK I HAVE FOUND IT!!
Out of the box I was shocked by how small a footprint it has…I love that... the more I can do with one camera the better. Small footprint but a huge capacity in the quality and capability of this camera.
I love how Sony laid out the User Interface. The photo button is easy to feel and differentiate from the video button without having my eyes leave the shot. I can grab a pic and move to video and back with touch only. I really like that. The menu button is easy and intuitive and the selector wheel both navigates left and right and up and down with a press to that respective corner and spins to flow through media or frame to frame depending on if you are playing a video back. So handy and helpful.
The screen is absolutely gorgeous and true to tone. What I see on screen is what the video looks like on my monitors. Crisp and clear. Skin tones are amazing! It’s also a touch screen and you can navigate through all the menus or utilize it for a quick setting change. The screen rotates firmly and confidently and makes a great monitor (which you can’t do with a phone as easy and still have the image quality that the ZV-1M2 can give you). I also absolutely love the red bar around the screen to let you know without mistake that you are rolling video. So much better than a small blinking red light ect. I also really appreciate the thought into the zoom lever…very accessible and feels great to the touch but the part that really gets it for me is just how smooth and the speed they chose to assign to the zoom. Not too fast and not too slow…just what I would do in a post-production normally but now I can do it real time. It’s that professional touch that really makes this camera top-tier.
The audio quality was a tremendous surprise! I mean I cannot believe just how good the audio is with just the native mic! Exceptional. Crips and clear with full tones. The video quality is by far the best I have seen. The images are so crisp and clear even at 1080! The 4 K is ridiculous good.
I also really love the real-time autofocus tracking and eye tracking. The final huge win for me is Sony’s Image stabilization with this camera. It feels like it’s on an expensive gimbal! Butter smooth! Like an action camera but with the quality of a full-size rig! So many creative features and modes to play with awesome slow motion and time-lapse for great transitions shots ect. I really can’t think of anything I don’t love about this camera…even the battery life is on point! I LOVE this camera!!! And for all the features 4K ect ect… I absolutely LOVE it because it makes my job easier… It makes my content look like a highly-paid production house made it. It’s going to be my go-to camera for everything when it comes to content creation. Just amazing!
Note: Be sure to buy the Sony Vlog creator kit. Soon as I got the camera, I had to run up to BestBuy to get the Stick. It’s truly a must have with this camera!!!

Still learning the camera but 2 really big things that I've noticed are the digital stabilization and the not-so-great battery life! I love the quality of the camera but when I would watch videos and they said the battery died quickly... THEY WERN'T EXAGGERATING! About 20-30 min of filming the battery is dead. I don't know if there is a way to make it last longer but it can get really frustrating. I bought 3 extra batteries but still, having to change them out so often can get old. The camera also doesn't come with a charger so you will need to buy one. I was not a fan of this but I use the charger from the off brand batteries I bought. The stabilization is also a bit wonky sometimes but I feel like Sony just doesn't ever have the best stabilization and I am used to canon! I really like the lightness and design of this camera and all of its features! I bought it as a vlog camera and the field of view is perfect and it is easy to carry around. Would be absolutely perfect if the battery life was a little better and if it had in body stabilization too! Still worth getting and an upgrade from my 7 year old well over Canon G7x mark ii!

I'm going to list the negatives first. This isn't on the camera but more on Sony's end. We are asked to review this product. How can we fully review this without an SD card? You can't record or take pictures without it. Not all content creators have them. Some people create content with a webcam. Thankfully, I had one. I just find this lacking on Sony's end...
A lot is going on for this camera. I was quite familiar with the Sony ZV lineup. Since I use the Sony ZV-1F as a webcam. This camera is a step up in the right direction. There is plenty of customization. You get a fully functional touch screen. You have multiple ways of adjusting the iso, white balance, aperture, and other settings. No need to pull up the menu, you can just tap the icon on the screen.
There are plenty of modes to select from. Intelligent Auto, Program Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Manual Exposure in video mode. In Shoot mode, you also get a nice selection. Intelligent Auto, Program Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual Exposure, and Portrait (Which consist of multiple modes Sports, Macro, etc)
This may seem like a lot to someone not familiar with Cameras but once you get the basics it's not that hard to learn. In video mode, it will shoot in a crisp 4k 30fps. I mean crisp. You can lower it down to 1080p 60fps. I chose the 4k video. Now, you will have to find the right mode and settings. Intelligent Auto is the default mode for those who want to just capture and go. It has amazing autofocus which is fast and on point. You can change how you want to capture this as well. You can set it to where you touch the screen it will focus on that area. It also comes with its own internal ND filter on those bright sunny days. The audio recording is the best I have heard on a camera. The audio was crisp and clear with not much interference. I was amazed about this and is one of the benefits of this camera.
For Shoot mode, you will enjoy the macro mode if you like up-close shots of vegetation. Having the zoom-in lens also is a benefit. There is so much going on with this camera I can't put it all in this review. I'm not a cinephile or photographer but I did enjoy this camera. It fits in your pocket and is a great point-and-shoot camera. This is a great backup pr B Camera also. A great Main Camera if you don't want to go full frame. It can also be used as a webcam. To get a higher-quality image you will need a capture card. But you can get 4k 30fps with this as a webcam.
Pros
-Full Functional Touch Screen
-Crisp 4k 30fps
-Internal Microphones Captures Amazing Audio
-Macro and Portrait Mode
-Sony's New Menu System (User Friendly)
-HDMI output for Monitor and Webcam use
-Internal ND Filter
Cons
-Price
-Lacks in Low Light
-Not a Full Frame Lens (Which is fine for most)
-No Charge Cable Included (Really Sony Why?)
-TinyNP-BX1 Battery (Don't expect all-day recording)
-No 10-Bit Color Range only 8-Bit
The Pros outweigh the Cons! But is it worth the price? You have to decide.

I got the Sony ZV-1 II for my brother as a gift, and it’s safe to say I nailed it—he absolutely loves it! This camera is a dream for anyone into vlogging or content creation. The 20.1 MP sensor delivers stunningly clear photos and videos, and the colors look vibrant right out of the camera (so no need to mess with editing if you don’t want to). The built-in microphone is surprisingly good—it picks up clear audio even in noisy environments, which is a huge win for a compact setup like this.
The flip-out touchscreen is perfect for framing shots while vlogging, and the size makes it super portable (my brother takes it everywhere). Plus, the autofocus is lightning-fast and works great for capturing action or switching between subjects seamlessly. He’s been raving about how easy it is to use, even for someone who isn’t super technical. Whether you’re gifting it or treating yourself, this camera is a fantastic choice for beginners and pros alike.

Compact Creative Vlog Camera

The Sony Digital Camera ZV-1M2 Vlog Camera is impressive and fun to use. My favorite feature might sound a little lame, but it is the ultra-wide zoom. After years of photographing architectural structures inside and out, I find this Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T ultra-wide 18-50mm zoom lens to be perfect for streetscapes and commercial buildings without having to carry a bag of extra lenses to get different angles and still shots. The Sony Digital Camera ZV-1M2 is not necessarily a ‘point and shoot’, but its automatic features can certainly be set up to do just that if desired.
With a push of a button, the wide aperture F18-4.0 lens can defocus the background creating different bokeh effects while the 1.0 type sensor gives professional results in various levels of light. The camera is automated to always deliver the best results. With its real-time Autofocus Tracking and Eye AF it prioritizes faces and emphasizes the subject in dim situations or where the background light is too bright.
The polycarbonate body is light which helps the camera only weigh 10.3 oz. For all that this camera is capable of, it is also very small at 2.4” by 4.2” by 1.8”. There are accommodations on the body of the camera to put a wrist cord or strap and I looked for one in the box because the camera could easily slip out of your hand while moving with it when filming video or taking still- photo shots. I did not find one, but I did find one for sale on the Sony website. Some people do not like to use wrist straps, but they have always helped me to not drop the camera while traveling and this is a good camera to take along on a trip.
The camera is equipped with a good three-capsule stereo mic and a shoe mount for attaching the included windscreen, an exterior microphone, or a flash attachment. Along with the microphone on the top of the camera is the ON/OFF button, the Bokeh effects control, shutter release, REC button and a zoom rocker. Controls on the rear of the camera include an Fn, Menu, Delete, and Play buttons. There is also a control wheel with a center enter button which allows for numerous specific settings that can be viewed on the LCD screen which doubles as a touch screen. This LCD screen is a 3-inch 921K-dot screen, and it can be turned 180 degrees to either have the view window on the inside when closed or on the outside. When moving around with the camera the LCD screen is much more protected when it is on the inside when closed. Folding the LCD screen in and out also controls the on/off of the camera.
There are numerous exposure modes that when coupled with autofocus, a great wide-angle zoom lens, solid and clear audio, and all the other features designed into the camera make it easy to achieve professional results with a little practice. Turning on ACTIVE Shot digital stabilization is a must for all handheld recordings, and it works even while walking. The camera has been designed with a very fast shutter and with different speed settings for continuous still photographs.
A couple of the additional accessories that can be purchased include a wireless shooting grip for around $140.00 that is very handy for walking with the camera and for shooting selfie vlogs, the wrist strap, an external microphone, and a flash attachment. You might also consider purchasing 2-3 additional batteries which brings me to the only reason that I cannot give this camera 5-stars. The battery life is very poor and lasts a respectable amount of time if you are only using the camera to shoot still photographs. However, if you are filming and using still photographs, extra batteries are a must or else you will be stopping your project and charging batteries frequently. Besides poor battery performance, I have to say that otherwise this is a great design. If you are looking for a pocket camera that has Bluetooth to your mobile device and the ability to upload your work with the use of Sony’s Creators App, numerous features and settings designed to produce professional photography, solid stabilization, color optimization, terrific audio, and a camera that can produce high quality 4K movies and 20.1 megapixel still photos, then this is definitely the Vlog camera for you.

I like the camera! I was torn between the Sony zv1 and the canon g7x. However so it’s popularity the canon ended up being back ordered with no update on when they’d be available again. Everyone said they were similar so I decided to try my hand. I bought a pre owned one that was offered to be like new. It was! Though this isn’t related to Best Buy directly my one complaint is that it comes with no batteries or a charger. So be prepared to buy one, especially multiple batteries as I’d say they last about an hour during filming. My one qualm with Best Buy in itself is that, I don’t know how thorough they check pre owned returns, but the usb provided was not compatible with the camera. While the camera does offer Bluetooth sharing via camera to phone, if you’re already at max capacity storage wise with your phone it’s pointless. Please make sure the usb provided IS the usb that’s for the camera. Now I have to come out of pocket yet again for yet another accessory just to transfer my videos to my laptop. Thank you!

Its a good camera. I was really looking for a device that can take better quality photos than my iPhone.
Its got a 1-inch sensor that I like, as it has excellent low-light capabilities. Its portable/pocketable, which is what I need as I do travel. I don't have much use for its vlogging capability but its good to know I have it available.
I'm a little disappointed in the zoom range and I wish it could zoom up to 120 mm.
I bought this as a compromise on price, as I really did not have the money to spring for a 6700 APS-C or the A7C, both with multiple lenses and each setup will set me back about $2500. This camera, together with the accesory vlogging, subcardiod mic and extra batteries (off Amazon) set me back a little $1000. Its a bit pricey for what I consider as a glorified point and shoot.
I do have an issue with the movie button and the other buttons on top as my fingers were used to manipulate Nikon and older model Sonys and cellphones, so I kept messing up/triggering the video button by mistake. In time I will sort it out.
Is it worth it? I would say 90% yes, as a part of me still longed for either the A7C or the 6700 with the multiple lenses. But then again, budgets are real.

Great quality camera that fits in my purse. Wanted something to take out with me and it’s perfect. Doesn’t come with flash - I had to buy a light separately.

I was suprised this would overheat recording in 4k

Great camera. The problem I had though with this camera was that it would over heat in 4k when recording for a 15 minutes. There is an option to turn the over heat threshold higher. But I definitely didn't feel comfortable with that. My rationale for not using that feature is just logic. If they didn't design the camera to operate at a higher temperature as a default then why push the threshold and put heavier wear on the device itself? Other than that this camera is easy to use and already setup for vlogging making use super easy to get into. If you can get past the limitations of limited time recording in 4k and are stabilization is alright but not the greatest but there are ways around this. if you can deal with that this camera is great!

I bought this to take more photos of my pups instead of just using my iPhone Pro Max. It is small and easy to carry. I don’t really know much about digital cameras and this was easy to use and takes great pictures. There are so many different cameras to choose from but if you want an easy point and shoot, I recommend this.

This is a great camera for users that want to start content creation but don't want to juggle 4-5 lenses. It has great features and a fine enough battery(not the best but decent for a small camera). I will say if you have a higher end smart phone and a decent smart phone mount for recording you may be better off with one of those unless you don't have good storage on your smart phone. Controls for the camera are also a little more intimidating than the average smartphone camera experience. In conclusion this is a choice between a smart phone setup and a small form factor camera setup.

It is a very good camera for a content creator who is starting off. You can control all of your basic functions without going to in depth. If you are looking for a small handheld travel anywhere camera with good quality this is a good option. The cons of this sony camera that I have found are as follows. All of the inputs are on the right side of the camera, which makes it difficult to use with a gimbal such as the Ronin RS3 mini if you are using external mics or wanting to live stream with the gimbal listed. The other con is the over heating factor. If you plan on shooting somewhere hot an external cooling system will be needed. I was shooting a set in very hot temperatures and after 14 minutes of continuous shooting the camera popped up with a message to stop recocording because the camera was over heating. I hope this information is useful!
