Look of quality not matched by performance

I purchased these headphones for use with my electronic drums. I was replacing a very expensive set of headphones that my lovely son decided it would be a good idea to break in half. After reading some reviews of these headphones I decided why spend the ton of money required to replace my old headphones when I could just purchase these. You get what you pay for, unfortunately with these you are getting a great look but not really getting great performance. Specifically, I feel they lack the range I'm used to in terms of hitting higher treb notes and low bass tones. It kind of seems as if I am listening to my old headphones with cotton balls in my ears. I've given the headphones to my son to use for watching movies and such on the iPad. Hey, a 2 1/2 year old doesn't mind how they work!

    Uncomfortable fit

I find the sound just okay and it would've worked out for me if not for the fact that it sits uncomfortably on my head. While there are padding on the ears, there is no padding on the bar that sits on top of your head. The hard plastic presses down and because the headphone is not very light, and it's rather tight, that pressure on top of the head is immediately noticeable. I don't mind not having top notch sound quality with deep bass, but if you notice you're wearing a headphone after 1 minute. that means it's not a good fit and it's uncomfortable. Good fitted headphones should make you forget you're wearing one so that you can just enjoy the sound.

I'd say I've had these for 4 months. They replaced a pair of Koss's that were falling apart internally and externally, I had them for so long! These are comfortable on my ears and the band fits pretty well. The sound was decent. Used them daily for listening to music and on my PC. Never cranked up. Unfortunately, I have already lost the left side in this short time.

Sound great, but flawed in other areas

These headphones do not sound bad. However, I do not find them stylish, but more clunky on my head. I bought these in order to play my music so others can't hear me and I can enjoy the music without having my music low so the sound doesn't leak. I was disappointed, because these headphones leak very badly. If I put the volume farther than about a third of the way up, anyone with 5ft can hear my music. It also does not block out the noise around me that well. I've had these for only a day, but I do plan to return for a set of headphones that can do everything these headphones cannot. If you are thinking of buying these headphones for a teenager or someone who likes their music to be an escape from reality, don't.

    Sounds Horrible! No bass response

I'm really puzzled how other people who reviewed here can describe the sounds quality of this headphones as 'Good'. Its sounds like those cheap headphones they give in-flight by the airlines. Its has no bass response! I have seen much better quality in cheaper headphones than this. The only thing that I would describe as 'Good' with these headphone is they are made very sturdy and durable. So don't expect any quality sound when you buy these!

    Terrible

These sony head phones are very bad. I say that because they are terrible on ear. The ear pieces are pretty hard and for me i don't approve of that. The price is pretty low and I know a lot of people that have these head phones but I don't like them. They tell me they are all right. I can see that due to the price but their sound isn't that bad but the fact that the ear pieces aren't comfortable it just ruins the sound, it makes me want to take them off right that second and call it a day. I will let this product slide due to the price, but if you really care about sound and comfort I say NO!

These headphones are durable but they lack noise cancelling and bass quality. But for $15 i cant complain too much. Also has really fast shipping.

The sound quality of these headphones is very poor, music starts out high then drops when the bass kicks in.

I got these on sale and I thought they would be better than the JVC I usually buy at the same price. Unfortunately I was wrong and as soon as I got home from the city I immidiatly returned them for the JVC flat Headphones. The sound quality from the Sony's were very disappointing to say the least.

    Disappointed with sound quality

I was really excited when they released new headphones from sony, but was actually disappointed with the sound quality. I had been using the Sony studio monitor series headphone and thought they were amazing, but they were much better than these. I compared the sound quality with my existing studio series from sony, which are also the same price, but these are not as good as those. These are much lighter though but that's about it.

It somehow manages to augment the noise outside the headphones. I can hold a conversation as easily with these on as without, car-on-pavement sounds seem louder when I'm wearing the headphones whan they do without. Playing violin is actively painful with them on (useful to play along with a recording of a difficult passage). This is one of the few products I've ever been disappointed enough with to return.

I use earbuds usually, but recently they started to hurt my left ear. I picked these up for $13 on sale and thought the padding would be good. I tried the kind that goes over your ears but around the back of your head and it made the tops of my ears hurt. These make the lower earlobes hurt after about an hour of listening. They do not produce great base or treble. Very flat. I will return these tomorrow.

Quite simply, there are better headphones out there. No real reason to buy these. I've learned from all my headphone buying escapades, that there are only two types worth buying: Ear bud headphones and full ear covering headphones. I have a $50 pair of over the ear headphones and a love em!

I think I got a bad set. The bass is stronger on the left than on the right. Other than that, the right is fairly clear, but the slight off balance ruins every thing. I'm going to get them replaced as soon as possible.

My son got these as a present for Christmas, its now 1/5 and they have already stopped working. There is no short in them, they simply don't work. We will have to exchange them. My daughter got a pair as well and they work fine, so hopefully its just a defective pair.

Ear surround is louder the the music

When you move wearing these the ear surrouning material makes noise that's louder than the music in the speaker, you hear your hair and your sideburn russle loudly against the material, annoying. Loose fit I can't see jogging with these on at all.

    The cord is the worst!

The headphones look great, and they actually sound alright. However, the top 1/4 of the headphone cord is a constant tangled mess. It looks like garbage, and it tangles up right under the chin. I've never seen anything like it...
