As a musical household, we have almost weekly “dance parties” with the kids and we also bring the party to family gatherings. This Soundboks Party Light just replaced our gimmicky party light bulb for those occasions and enhances the vibes immensely because it synchronizes to the music so well. *What’s included?* Included in the box was just the lightbox and a manual. It charges by USB-C does not come with the cable. *Quality of Product* This party light is robust, hexagonal, and rubber padded. Because of its shape it is hard for it to accidentally get knocked over since it has seven surfaces it can rest on. It weighs just under 4lbs, and the handle makes it easy to transports and take just about anywhere, plus it fits in the average sized tote bag or backpack. It is splashproof and shockproof, which gives me peace of mind because we never know how rowdy dancing people will get. *Party Lights* The TrackSynch audio reactive technology works amazingly. There is a small speaker by the buttons that takes in sound and uses it to sync up the light effects. It works incredibly well, giving a professional feel to a very simple and portable set-up. Light effects: o There are 10 color schemes, each with a mix of four colors. o The three energy levels are chill, dance, and rave. o The light’s brightness is adjustable from 1-5, it includes zero, which is just lights off while still powered on. *App * The Soundbok app pairs with the light box right off the bat. It’s the quickest I have every synched a device to an app. It provides firmware updates, quick setting changes, plus visuals of the 10 color profiles. It also allows me to pair to additional Sounbok lights for synchronized lighting. When choosing energy level, it tells you approximately how long the battery life will last with each option. I can also turn off the light through the app but cannot turn on with it. *Durability/Battery Life* The battery life can last up to 14 hours, so it easily outlasts a night of use. Plus, it charges really quick, taking only about two and a half hours. Pressing the power button shows the amount of battery life left via the indicator light strip at the top of the light box. *Conclusion* Overall, the Sounboks Lightboks is such a great and easy way to create a fun environment and vibe with just music and lights. Its effortlessly portable, requires no connections, has long-lasting battery life, and works seamlessly with any speaker. Moreover, it is accident resistant and so easy to set up. I’m taking it with me to all my events, and maybe even camping for a fun way to keep the night lit up since it has such a long life.

What an amazing level up to parties and mood lighting! My spouse and I have 4-5 big parties/get togethers a year and love adding something fun to each event plus we go all out on Halloween and Xmas! So the Soundboks Lightboks speaker is going to really add some magic! First off, the build…Solid piece of craftsman ship. High quality build throughout and water resistant IP65 (splash proof)! It charges fast about 2 hours to get 14 hours of light, way more hours than my parties last! I also like that it has rubber skid proof on the sides that sit on a shelf or floor. It can be set up vertically or on its back to throw light where you want it. They did not provide a charger which I have mixed feelings on…but I have a ton of USB C laying around and I guess it’s nice not to clutter up with more cables, but it did kind of surprise me that they didn’t. It also has a built in handle in the base that makes it super easy to transport! The perfect on the go party accessory! Operations- This could not be any easier to operate!!!! I mean for tech these days…It is literally turn on and set it down!!! The light it produces is bright and fills a room nicely even a moderately light room. BUT THE MAGIC is that it has a microphone that hears the music and beats the lights to what it’s hearing!!!!! AWESOME!!! No more trying to sync it to a source ect to get that effect! Really a ton of fun and with such ease that it truly feels magical!!! The beat is spot on to the music and seems like it is programmed to do it but no…it is just smart! I also love that I can take it to a friends party that they are throwing…I just bring it… turn it on and boom! Professional DJ dance lighting!!!!!! LOVE! It has 10 color themes you can access by downloading the app, but I will have to say I was pretty disappointed that I could not control all the lighting and had to choose a theme…I wanted to be able to set light scapes like a light strip and maybe make all the light a certain shade of green and keep it that way…I could not find a way to do that…bummer. It seems like SOUNDBOKs devs could fix that really easily with firmware???? Love the dance lighting…would like more control over the mood lighting. I thought about dropping a star for that reason….but it just does such a great job, built well and and is a ton of fun…just didn’t seem fair…BUT if you want it for specific mood lighting like a light strip… just be aware that it doesn’t do that. You can also add more Lightboks together and syn them for more of a punch which is pretty cool. Overall – Awesome product for anyone that likes to rock out to their music in style, portable and as easy as it gets to operate!!!

As far as party lights go. Lightboks is amazing. This thing is built probably more for professionals then regular consumers and has a price that I feel reflects this. You get a very sturdy designed half dome of extremely bright lights, it is dimmable and runs several hours on its built in battery. It also seems to be very in tune with most music. Especially when placed atop a paired Soundboks speaker, but even standard speakers and audio sources work fine. At about the size of half a basketball and made from plastic and rubberized surfaces. Lightboks can be placed flat with domed lights aimed up towards ceiling/sky, or stood up with a mainly at the crowd light direction. Also includes a built in handle to carry or potentially hang the light. You get 7 independent RGB LED lens that react independently or jointly to sound, they do show light patterns without audio, but dance when certain audio beats hit. And that light dance is quick and strobe like on "Rave", fun and human paced on "Dance", relaxed and a bit moody on "Chill". I want to add that Lightboks on some songs, seems to know the song and where best to flash and change colors in a great weird AI like way. I don't think this device has AI though. All controls are dead simple on the app (really only needed for color theme changes) and also fairly simple with actual buttons on device too. Power button quick press gives battery level, long press to turn on/off. Light intensity dimmer (- or + button) shows level up or down on the included led light bar that is also used for power and charging level. The red "Energy" button toggles between the 3 speeds of light patterns: Chill, Dance and Rave. The Lightboks might possibly be a splurge if you don't DJ or run other events where fun lights give joy and ambience to a music filled room. And worse yet, you might want 2 to really get the room going. Lightboks gives you a better concert lights feel at home for a fraction of what some concert tickets cost. So maybe its a fun way to have an event at home. Might also be great fun to use the Lightboks with certain movies and sing along sessions of karaoke. If you like fun things, here you go.

We’ve had the Lightboks by Soundboks in our home for about a week now. We used it for a little get together the other night. We decided to play some music and let the lightboks set the mood. We are definitely impressed with it. Our guests all thought it was cool! The lightboks has three modes.. chill, dance and rave. We opted for dance mode for our get together. Soundboks calls the tech in it “TrackSync technology” and I personally was very impressed with how well it synced with our music for putting on a light show. We didn’t have to set up any presets or anything. The little light boks just listens to your music with its built in microphones and sets the vibe! I liked how the lights speed up for faster dance tracks, and will pulse rapidly before a bass line drops. There is an app on iOS that you can set up to change the settings, but it isn’t necessary. The lightboks has buttons that allow you to change modes and brightness on the fly. If I had to make a suggestion, I would say place it somewhere above eye level. Especially if you are prone to headaches from bright lights. Other than that, we love it, and plan on getting a second one later for our parties and a wedding. Lightboks claims you can get 14 hours of light from it, I can’t testify to that yet but I can assure you that you will get at least 6/7 hours. That’s how long our little get together lasted and the battery is still going strong.

I throw a party probably once a year and I’m always happy to add an RGB light to my gear, especially one that automatically runs through colors adding movement to the ambiance. The Lightboks is a vibrant party light with an easy UI to switch up the settings. You get a choice of 3 energy levels (Chill, Dance - my fav, & Rave) and 5 brightness levels. It’s USB-C rechargeable and so far has a good battery life, with the app telling me it currently has 8 hours left. This will definitely run for an evening party at home! This is a super straight forward light. You set it down somewhere near a speaker, turn it on, push another button or two to set it to your liking, and the light will flash different colors to the beat of your music. The only thing you can’t change with buttons on the light itself is the default color setting. To change your color theme or switch settings, use the SOUDNBOKS mobile app and access 10 additional color palettes. It’s compact and lightweight (less than 4 lbs) so you really can put it almost anywhere. I truly like the construction of this light. There’s a handle built into the housing and the face of lights is angled upward making it really easy to just set down and get the party started. It’s not designed with a threaded mount but I don’t really need it anyway because of the angle it's already at. I can honestly recommend this as a fun, practical, and bright party light.

The Soundboks Lightboks Audo Reactive Party Light is a great addition to any event! It was super easy to set up. You first charge the unit with a USB-C charger (not provided) for about 2.5 hours. Then you just turn it on and you can cycle through the brightness and energy leves on the unit itself. When you turn on music the lights will match the beats based on how you set the energy. The three levels of enery are Chill, Dance snd Rave. They each afffect the battery life differently. Chiill says it gives a max battery life of 5 hours, Dance gives a max battery of 8 hours and Rave gives a max battery life of 10 hours. That seems backwards to me - but it must take more "energy" to hold the lights longer for the Chill level. You can see this information when you download the Soundboks app and add your unit. The other think you can do ont he app is change the colors. There are 10 different color combinations to pick from. This is also where you would add an additional Lightboks to sync up. I plan events for a living an will be using this at both home and the events I plan. It's fun and adds so much to any party, event, or dance!

The Soundboks Party Light is so freaking cool. I never knew these would be so fun to have. We literally party almost every night. My 7 year old loves to play music and dance and the Soundboks Party lights make dancing 100 times better. Inside the package there is the party light and the user manual nothing else. There is NO charging cable, it uses a USB-C cable. I had plenty at home so that was no issue. The charging was super fast.I love that this Soundboks party light is portable making it easy to place anywhere with no cables in the way. There is a Soundboks app you need to download. In the app you can control the color patterns which there are 10 to choose from. There are also 3 energy levels Chill, Dance and Rave which control the effects transitions. The Rave effect is one of the most intense of the 3 in my opinion is the best one to get your boogie on.These options are also available in the party light itself on the top part there the on and off button as well as the brightness and energy level.This party light although it may seem small but thats no problems it serves its purpose great delivering a nice and rich amount of light and colors great to use indoors and outdoors. The Soundboks Party Light is definitely a must at every party!!!! 10/10

The Lightboks Party Light is a light device that reacts to sounds. Put a music source near the internal microphone, and let the light run. Its seven lights will move, flash, and strobe independently to whatever source it listens to. Contents In the box, you will find the light with a storage bag. There’s no other hardware or cords. A paper instruction manual is included that has a QR code on it. The paper instructions explain how to charge and use it out of the box. If you use the QR code it will take you to an online Q&A. That Q&A has a link to download the same paper instructions digitally. Setting it up First, charge the light. The light charges through a USB-C port and can take 2.5 hours per the instructions. As mentioned, it doesn’t come with a charging cord, so you’ll need to have a way to charge through USB-C. Soundboks does sell their own official charger. They recommend using a minimum 30W charger for the fastest charging. Next, I recommend downloading the Soundboks app. It’s available on Apple and Google Play. You’ll set the light up through Bluetooth with the app. The app allows you to select color palettes otherwise not available through manual buttons on the light. It will also allow you to control all of the same settings that the buttons do. Firmware upgrades happen through the app. If you have multiple Lightboks lights, you can sync them together in the app. How it Works Lightboks Party Light listens to external audio sources through it’s internal microphone. The lights flash and move to the sounds it hears. It works with any music or speakers, even live music. Something important to consider is that you need to have the light close to the music source so that it’s listening to music instead of other sounds. This could change the light output if it reacts to things like screaming, cheering, tapping, etc. Control Buttons These are the controls available using the light’s buttons: • Power – on/off • Brightness – lumen output of lights • Energy – speeds of flashing lights; “Chill, Dance, and Rave” • Battery Status Light Lights Lightboks Party Light has seven 12W lights. The work independently of each other and can change speed through the music or the settings. The lights flash on and off, strobe, and roll or turn to move around for movement. They change colors, and the color can be minimally controlled through the app. These are very bright, and I recommend letting the light bounce off walls rather than look directly into them. Also, anyone who has light sensitivity or issues such as epilepsy will want to be careful with these. The light can be pretty intense. Additional Observations Confusing Information – The instruction manual could be a little more detailed. It’s confusing to understand if the light can get wet. The outer packaging box says that it’s “weatherproof”. The Warnings and Legal pamphlet says it’s intended for use indoors. The online Q&A says it has a IP65 rated electronics coating. I’m not sure if this can get wet or not. The App – It seems like the app is pretty limited. I’d like to be able to choose what colors I want to use. This doesn’t really do that. I want to be more specific than the color palettes that are offered. Daughter Loved It – My 8 year old immediately wanted to see what I was doing and even took over my Spotify playlist to see the lights react to her songs. She really enjoyed it. Easy to Use – It’s really easy to use out of the box. You can even use it without the app if you wanted to. Overall, the Lightboks Party Light is really fun to use. It’s easy to set up out of the box. I’d recommend for Soundboks to develop the app further and give more customization options. Also, I’d like to see a charger or at least a USB-A to USB-C cord come with it. It adds a level of fun while playing music.

I have been trying out my new Lightboks by Soundboks for a few days now and have found it to be a nice touch for lighting without using a DJ. The setup was as easy as charging the Lightboks and turning it on. The controls are pretty limited with only light brightness and music activity buttons on the unit. You can also download the app to have more control over the lighting. The lights were pretty bright, but I noticed the brightness could be drowned out if the ambient light was too bright. As for the performance, the Lightboks were able to accurately track and react to many of the different music I played. However, I noticed the lights had a little lag when music slowed down from a fast tempo as the lights would be a little more active than the slowing beat. When the music beat picked back up, the lights would quickly mimic the energy. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to add a lighting effect to your party, this would be a great piece of equipment to own. I plan on purchasing 1 more unit to make the lighting experience more complete.

This portable light comes in handy. This small yet powerful light can be the show in a small party. Straight Out of the box it's very easy to use. Once you pair it up with your phone or device you can customize color schemes, brightness, and turn on and off. Depending on the brightness of the color would determine how long the battery lasts. On a single charge and on the lowest brightness and scheme it can last up to 10 hours. It charges via USB-C port located on the side of the unit. USB-C cable not included. The unit has a stand so it can sit upright when in use. The unit has a microphone on the top. This helps to react to sound with different light schemes. The unit also has schemes or it doesn't use sound to change colors or patterns. The unit also has a feature to add another unit to have a combined scheme or colors. Overall the unit seems sturdy and well made with quality materials. I would recommend using this for medium sized indoor or outdoor parties. For its size it's a great value.

My family and friends karaoke ALL THE TIME. What once were more vocally-focused performances, turned to song and dance performances. This Soundboks reactive lighting changed our karaoke parties forever. It is a great gadget but it does not go without some quirks but we will get to that later. The device is pretty straightforward—arrived with decent charge but I full charged it anyway. The manual is super basic because this device is pretty much turn on and go. The build looks durable, the look is decent, meaning it’s cool to leave it out at the party because it is not a flimsy / tacky device to have out. The stand comes in to keep the device upright, when I want to hit the lights on the wall, and it also is useful to tilt it up a little bit if I want it almost flat on the floor to project lights on the ceiling. The lights are bright but not too bright to be disruptive to the TV screen. I turn them on and it just changes the ambience of my party. So as I have observed, it responds to vibrations, more than it listens to the audio. It is more responsive to shifts in tempo more than the actual music pace. So the light becomes more active when the tempo switches and I see more activity. What I noticed is it builds on the music—so it becomes more responsive longer into a song. It does not, however, move as fast as the song. Do not expect it to thump and exactly as the music is thumping. It still moves randomly but only rattles on beat shifts. Of course it helps to have the music louder but again, do not expect it to flash as it thumps. There is some activity it does on its own. Battery definitely lasts the whole night and had it on for at least two sessions without charging. It is definitely a great addition to my party set up. The music response could do some more improvement, but I do not expect much. To me, overall, just the lighting effects is already a lot to enjoy, and it did bring the dance party on!

Soundboks Lightboks is a bright, portable lighting feature that can add flare to a music experience. Set up and use is straight forward and easy. There are 7 RGBW lights. The unit is equipped with a USB-C port (USB-C cable not included), charging was quick (2.5 hours advertised). There are 4 total buttons. Power on, brightness adjust plus/minus (4 settings) and energy level (3 settings). Toggling between settings is simple. I would say from a brightness standpoint, most open concept houses level 2 seems to be solid for a party type setting (dance party with my toddler mainly) while level 4 is near too bright for indoors. Energy levels correspond primarily with the speed/amount of light it seems, myself preferring level 2. To get light playing - this is my favorite part of the Lightboks - there is no cable needed, no Bluetooth necessary, just simply proximity. There is a microphone, which recognizes the music and subsequently adjusts light frequency/display to match. I would say it is difficult to know how precisely this works; however, it provides a solid light performance which I am satisfied with. By default, the colors for my device were primarily green/purple. The quick start guide did not mention an application - and I was slightly concerned I was stuck with only a few colors. There is an app which allows for changing color palette and synchronization of more than one Lightbok (Bluetooth enabled). This was needed to enhance the out of box experience, allowing for 10 options currently. The portability of this device (size, weight), ease of use and durability (IP65) make up for any specific lack of extensive customization. Overall, this is a solid, portal light device for versilte needs.

This review is on a SOUNDBOKS - Lightboks - audio reactive party light in black. I am very impressed by this party light. It has three modes(energy levels). Chill, Dance and Rave. Chill is exactly that, the lights kind of stay on and fade in and out slowly. Dance is a little more flashing from Chill. Rave is the best for matching up with music. It does a lot of flashing and does a pretty good job of matching the music. On the device it has controls for brightness, energy level and power. There is no Bluetooth button on the device but when you download their app, it connects easily by Bluetooth. Upon first setting up the device in the app, it shows up on the list. Next you add it with the S/N listed on the device to your account. Last it asks you to turn the device on and off. I found one update for the device to download and can be completed over Bluetooth. Now you have all the controls on the device listed in the app. You get one extra feature in the app that allows you to control the colors. There are 10 color choices. There is no choice to display one single color. Hopefully they can add that to a future update. The colors look amazing and bright. This will give a great party scene for you or your friends. It can also be connected with other Soundboks devices for a better show.

For the last week, I've been testing out the Soundboks Lightboks audio-reactive party light. Overall, it's a cool product that does a great job of providing an interesting light show, similar to a professional stage setup. The Lightboks is easy to use and very lightweight. It features a solid construction and seven bright, multicolor strobe lights that react to the beat of my music. It has three intensity modes that can be changed at the push of a button, which make the lights react faster or slower to the music. I personally find the fastest setting to be the best. There are plus and minus buttons to increase or decrease the brightness of the lights. At its dimmest, it acts as more of an accent light, but at its brightest, it can be blinding if you get a direct shot in the eye. In my use, I found that it performs best in dark rooms, nighttime tailgate events, or nighttime backyard parties. However, in daylight or brightly lit rooms, the light show is diminished to the point that it's not worth turning it on. With that said, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to add some flair to their party.
