I went to the over the ear style after having to remove the tip from my ear of my former ear buds. The sound quality is fantastic, I used on my flights to and from work. I recommend these headphones.

My only gripe is that the user interface is reduced to just play/pause when you have only one bud in. Otherwise, I am greatly satisfied with this product! I use it mainly for casual listening and background noise while working.

Volume is appropriate. I did turn volume up and person sitting next to me did say that they could hear it which is the only offputting thing on these headphones

Not the best, but not bad either.
