Impressive sound and really nice to look at. This speaker can bump out some serious sound and I'm loving every second of it. This unit has the accompanying LED lightshow at the base which is a very nice look whether it's day time or in a dark room. Anker went the extra mile with this speaker to make it look sweet and offer a good value for the quality. The speaker is encased in an Amazon Echo like cloth textured speaker for the 360 degree speaker. The speaker paired really quickly and easily to my iPhone device. The bluetooth has great range and remained connected from a good 25 feet away. This speaker also has buttons on top that are easy to press and navigate. Control the LED lights on/off, volume and skip function. I feel like this is a great speak that can fit in many different situations. I think this speaker would be nice in a living room, office, kitchen, dorm room, or bonus room. The speaker is compact and really fits into any room easily and will look good. Will definitely not be a distraction, but will be a very nice addition to the landscape. Enjoy this device, and I'll be sure to suggest this to anyone else as it's a great value.

    Crisp, clean music

There is a lot to like about the Flare before you even use it. It looks good, it charges comparatively quickly, and it paired in seconds to my Echo Show! Then, if the listening experience doesn’t amaze you, possibly you aren’t really listening. The 360-degree speaker puts out sound that is so crisp and clean you can hear the music as if it were live in an auditorium with excellent acoustics. Walk around it, and you will find no diminishing of sound quality. From the start, the Flair exceeded my expectations. If you particularly like to hear prominent bass notes, the speaker has a BassUp Mode to give it a boost. If you want bass that will shake the walls, this won’t do it for you; however, if you simply want more bass accent, it works just fine. Battery time is advertised as up to 12 hours. I can’t attest to that, but I can say I have had it in play for several hours on a full charge on more than one occasion, and it is still hasn’t needed a recharge. To add to the very attractive physical appearance, the Flare has a multi-colored lighted base. It can be turned off, on with a solid color, or displaying changing colors. Also, this function can be customized to your taste, using the Soundcore app. Bear in mind use of the light is going to use battery power, thus shortening listening time. That said and given the battery power, if you want to add to the ambiance, let the lights dance! Other nice features are: 1. It is water resistance up to 3 feet. 2. Two Flairs can be paired together so the music can be enjoyed in a wide area setting or simply enhancing listening in a smaller setting. 3. There is a built-in microphone to enable phone call response. 4. It comes at a very low price compared to many other brands with high quality sound. I love the Flair and would definitely recommend it. Heck, for the price, buy two.

This little devil arrived about a week ago on my doorstep and let me tell you, it's mighty freaking awesome. Upon the opening the package you will find obviously the speaker enclosed, a micro-usb charging cable as well as the usual user manual documentation. Connecting the Flare to your phone or TV is pretty much self-explanatory if you've ever used Bluetooth before. Once connected, turn up the volume. The Flare also comes with a companion app (Soundcore) that can be downloaded via the App Store for iPhone or Google Play Store for Android (blah, lol). The app allows you to update the firmware and allows you to adjust light effects and equalizer settings. Sound quality is amazingly clear considering how small this speaker is. Its packs a punch in a small form factor. On top of the speaker are controls for power/bluetooth, the lights which thankfully can be turned off, and up and down for volume. I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a great small speaker that packs a punch for its price. The only other thing I wish was in the box was a charging adapter.

Small and easy to handle, the Soundcore Flare portable Bluetooth speaker is a wonderful little device with great sound. Out of the box, it took about an hour to fully charge the battery, which is done through the included USB cable. There is no 120V power connection. I attached the USB cable to a USB wall jack adapter such as would be used to charge a cell phone. Once it was fully charged, I turned on the unit, and in about five seconds I had it paired with my phone and playing music from Youtube. We had the unit playing Christmas music while eating dinner. As I noted, and as several others with me at the time observed, the sound is superb, with excellent base and a good volume range. The base of the unit illuminates with different colors of light that pulse with the music. Volume controls are on the top of the unit. There is also a mini-audio jack to play music through a wired connection, but the needed audio cable is a user-supplied item. If you want a portable speaker to play music or anything else from your phone or other device, the Flare is a great option. Highly recommended.

    Not your average budget speaker

Overall the Soundcore Flare Speaker has exceeded my expectations for a budget Bluetooth speaker. The best way to describe it's like a cross between a JBL Flip 4 and a Pulse 3 speaker. It's a curved, cylindrical speaker with a rubber grippy base that gives it a good grip on smooth surfaces. The sound coming out of this is crisp, loud with a nice punchy bass to it. I actually prefer the sound of the Soundcore Flare over the UE Boom 3. The bass is much more noticeable over the Boom 3. I tested with different genres of music from classic rock, old-school hip-hop and some of the current hip-hop music. No matter what genre of music you're into it sounds awesome.Vocals come through clear and loud. It's a well-balanced sound with the option to tone down the bass if you prefer. As for the light show is good it has bright colorful LEDs with 4 different light show patterns. You also have the option to pick from 5 color themes that range from Party mode to bedtime mode. The light shows range from pulse or synchronized with the music which has been my favorite so far. Battery life is rated at 12 hrs but with the volume being at 50% and the LEDs turned off. With everything on and the LEDs expect battery life to be around the 6-8 hr range. Anker does have an app called the Sound Core app that can be used to control the light show, managed volume, turned off bass boost and equalizer settings. From there you can also upgrade the firmware. If you have 2 Sound Flare speakers you can pair both together for a louder stereo sound. As for any shortcomings the only thing I would of like to seen is USB Type C charging instead of Micro USB. Instead of having to carry 2 cables I could of just use the cable from my phone to charge the device. I don't consider this a deal break more of a minor inconvenience. Now the IPX7 ratings makes up for it which means no worries from the elements even if goes for a dive in the pool. Overall Anker budget offering is a very solid product that competes with the heavy hitters like UE and JBL around $100 price range and below. Don't let the price fool you there's nothing budget about this speaker.

Buying my second one to pair to my first!

I already purchased one of these speakers in black color, so I know what they can do. The speaker has incredible sound quality, and really is 100% waterproof - I know because I dropped mine into the pool. After fishing it out and shaking the water off, it was absolutely fine. I don't really use the light function a lot, but the bass up function works very well. The battery life is amazing, and I recently found out you can pair two of them together (conveniently stated in the instruction manual, but of course I ignored it). I was going to wait until they went on sale to buy another one, but I couldn't help myself and had to jump on it when I saw that they're now selling it in my favorite color blue! I'm going to update this review with my experience of the two speakers paired together once I get the blue one, but even just having one, I am blown away for the quality of this speaker vs the price. In my opinion they could sell this for $100 easy, so grab one while you can!

Yes it is! This is a pretty cool little speaker. The sound seems to eminate from every direction. OK, it's not Carnegie hall quality but it's pretty good for by the pool, on the beach, or on the boat. BTW I couldn't resist tempting the waterproof fates and dropped the SOUNDCORE FLAIR into the Atlantic. No problem. Ha, the sound based light show attracted a few little fishes. For the money it's a pretty nifty package if you're going to be outdoors, especially near or on the water.

---SETUP--- The setup of the Soundcore was simple. Turn it on the first time (comes with enough charge, though it’s recommended that you fully charge it) and it automatically goes into bluetooth search mode. Your device should find it quickly and you can pair it. ---FEATURES--- One of the best features is that it is has an IPX7 rating. What that means is that this speaker is waterproof and can be fully submerged underwater for up to 30 minutes in a depth of 30 meters. I threw mine in a tub full of water and left it there for a good 25 minutes because I forgot about it. I went to take it out and the speaker is just fine. May be linked wirelessly to other speakers with the same feature to create a louder sound. ---PERFORMANCE--- The performance of this speaker is on par with other speakers of similar price. It is loud enough for a small room or to have it by the pool area. During a party, though, one speaker alone might be drowned out by chatter. This speaker has the ability to pair up to multiple speakers of the same brand for a fuller sound, though I wasn’t able to test this as I only have the one. ---EXPECTATIONS--- The product meets my expectations. You’ll find that having a full waterproof bluetooth speaker comes in handy more often that not. This is my third fully waterproof speaker and I always keep one in the shower area, one in the pool area, and one in the kitchen sink area. ---VALUE--- The price for the speaker in terms of value is approachable for its power. If you plan on getting two, you can take advantage of the multi-speaker link system. ---APPROVAL--- I highly recommend this product for people who will keep the speaker near water and close to them. Unless you’re buying multiple, I wouldn’t recommend just 1 for a party. Otherwise, though, it is a pretty good speaker.

    A small but capable speaker

I’ve purchased a number of Anker products over the years, but never a speaker from them. As such, I don’t have any previous experience with their speaker products to offer a comparison. Upon unboxing the Soundcore Flare speaker, I sensed that it was a solid, well-built unit. Further, it’s IP67 rated, and the documentation indicates that it’s sufficiently waterproof that it can be dropped into water and still survive. Syncing the Flare to my phone took a few tries. During the Bluetooth pairing phase, my phone showed a Bluetooth symbol and a separate symbol that looked like headphones. I kept choosing the Bluetooth symbol, but it wouldn’t take it. After three tries, I selected the headphone symbol. That did the trick and It sync’d perfectly. Okay, full disclosure. I didn’t read the instructions before trying to pair the Flare to my phone because I’ve done this a hundred times with other Bluetooth devices. So, I take responsibility for the syncing problems. Still, this is the first time I’ve ever run into this problem. After downloading the Soundcore app to my phone (found on Google Play) and successfully pairing the phone and Flare, it was blasting out music in no time. It has lights on the bottom of the unit that can be synched to beat with the music – which I thought was a nice touch. The app also has different settings for how the color lights behave depending on your mood or what settings you might be in, like Party, Energy, Chill, Spring, and Bedtime. I always prefer more bass anytime I listen to music, and the Flare has a button on the top for enhanced bass. For me, the enhanced bass didn’t make much of a difference. The app does offer an equalizer option, so you can tweak the various ranges to be more to your liking. The equalizer also has pre-programmed equalizer settings to simplify the effort. At best, however, I felt that the sound was very middle-of-the-road even after a good amount of adjustment. I played with the volume quite a bit and turned it up close to its loudest setting, and it continued to sound crisp throughout. The speaker provided good coverage when used outside even with a whole lot of voice chatter from our guests. The Flare itself is small enough to carry around with you if you have a large purse or backpack. Oh, and the documentation alludes to 12 hours of battery use – enough for an extended social event. The speaker’s 360 coverage was outstanding, with the sound seeming just as clear no matter where I stood. Again, pretty darn good for such a small speaker. The app I downloaded from the Google Play was easy to use. It provides different options, including the equalizer (I previously mentioned this), different color themes, and the ability to pair 2 speakers together. Overall, I think this speaker is outstanding considering its small size and its equally small price point. I think the Soundcore Flare is a keeper.

at the price tag its not a bad deal. the sound was not the best but not bad either. it puts out evenly for a 360 which is a plus. the lights are nice but I did not see a way yet to just pick your own actual colors. so you have to pick out of different patterns that the unit and app have. if you want a fun little speaker that is water proof, and has some lights with it, this speaker is that. pairing was easy to do with my phone but doing it with wifes phone (I use iPhone she has Samsung) took a couple times.

Over the years I have used a ton of anker products and the soundcore flare continues the Anker tradition of making great products. The battery is impressive, bluetooth paired quickly and was very stable. The 360 degree sound is great although, it can use some tuning. Luckily, they included that capability in the soundcore app. If you are looking for an entry level bluetooth speaker with a great lightshow, you won't be disappointed.

This is nice speaker. It sounds good but compared to my Sony SRS XB41 and LG PK5 it is lacking a little. As far as portability it's a good one, it's way more portable to take this than the Sony SRS XB41but the LG PK5 can literally go anywhere due to it's rugged construction. Placing it in a room it'll blend in well since it looks like an Amazon Echo. Doesn't look as nice as the Sony but is way better than the LG.
