I've watched a bit of south park, and i played and completed the previous game (The Stick of Truth). I think they improved on almost everything in the previous game. The soundtrack got a noticeable boost and especially during some of the boss battles i was really getting into it. The combat is akin to grid based Tactical RPG's (Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea) and each class that you can play as has 3 main moves and one ultimate... eventually you can mix and match which is a nice touch. The graphics are clean for what the game is going for, the voice acting is pure south park genius. My only problem with the game was the story. I figured it would be ridiculous, which i have no problem with... but near the end (with more GREAT battles) i was like... that's pretty stupid. Even for South Park. In no way should this stop you from playing this game. I adored the combat, and it makes me miss JRPG's just like the first one did. Not to mention the amount of times i died laughing... maybe i'm kenny.

A sequal with better mechanics but less creativity

The sequal to stick of truth checks all of the sequal boxes. Better more refined game play mechanics. But suffers from stymied creativity. In my opinion stick of truth was overflowing with reverance for the South Park show. Every inch of the screen was filled with references to episodes, both big and small. However, the stick of truth also had some fairly run of the mill combat mechanics. And the loot system was overly complex. Fractured but whole on the other hand has has less dense lore and references, but improves in every way, with respect to combat and rpg mechanics. That being said this is still a fantastic game which deserves 4.5 stars. While the references are fewer than the preceding game, they are still plentiful and amazing. If you're a fan of the show, it's a must buy. If you're a fan of RPGs, this game will still scratch that itch (as well as your funny bone).

The graphics are poor. exactly like the show. This game is juvenile and sometimes offensive and always hilarious. Just like the show. I did have some control issues at times. When you go one way the game transitions and you end up going in the opposite direction especially when you go downstairs. Also as in many games the pop up messages during the game are small on the screen and hard to read. Now I am old and my eyesight is not what it used to be but still I have a 4K 55" television and have to change my seating position much closer to read them. I have not gotten very far but have enjoyed it so far. It even comes with a digital copy of the previous game The Stick of Truth. I got it on sale for $19.99! If you are a fan of the show you MUST get this game. You get two games. If you get offended easily and lack a sense of humor stay away.

If you are a fan of South Park: The Stick of Truth this game definitely compares well to that. The combat system has been changed to a grid based system which incorporates movement and character placement into battles. This change allows for combat to be a little more complex even though it sometimes can be a little on the easy side. The writing is 100% South Park. This is basically a 10 hour long episode, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you feel about South Park's humor. I found the humor a little slow and somewhat lazy at the beginning but after a couple of hours it picks up and moves along pretty well. There were more chuckles than groans by the end of the game.

Great Follow Up To The Stick of Truth

After playing The Stick of Truth I'm not sure anything can come close to the absurdity of that game. While this game does improve on some elements it does not come close to crude humor that TSOT does. Basically The Fractured but Whole follows the same structure old style turn based RPG fashion that was in TSOT but gives you more choices in how you attack. Game's story line follows the kids role playing superheros fashioned after some of the more famous episodes from South Park in particular the Coon and friends storyline. Basically if you played and liked TSOT then you know what you are getting into with this one. DEFINITELY NOT FOR KIDS!!!

This game is much like the first, in that it's full of crude but hilarious south park comedy and story, with a full cast of just about everyone you'de expect. Collect costume pieces and character customizing stuff like make up and hair, craft power ups and goods to help you succeed. The combat is pretty quick to pick up and no real tutorial necessary(although the game gives you a quick one anyways). The game is even nice enough to let you unlock multiple classes so you don't feel pigeon holed into any single class. All and all, if you liked the stick of truth, you'll probably like this one even better!

I've been a fan of South Park for a very long time. I love the political jabs and how the show basically holds a mirror up to society. South Park The Fractured But Whole is brilliant! You will feel like you're watching an episode that you interact with. I'll let you discover the adventure that awaits you, the player, but I can say that the game mechanics are much improved over The Stick Of Truth game from 2014. There are so many references to the fans of the show and there's plenty of jokes that take aim at the geek culture that I love so much.

I loved the first south park game and if I rated that one I would have given it a 5. This one gets a 4 because while the graphics are way better, and the combat is better, I hate the toilet mini game that is encouraged, and I hate the fact that you are no longer able to run, like in the first game. To world is so much larger and you have to walk everywhere. Going back and forth sucks, without the ability to run. Other than that major annoyance the game is fun. Also be warned, there is a lot of profanity in this game, more than in the first one!

The game is fun and fans of the show will love it. From a gameplay standpoint, it does turn based battle fine but nothing spectacular. It also becomes a bit clunky later on when you have to sift through odd menus to equip a bunch of random things. I also dislike the map and the way it is laid out. It's just very odd to me to travel through a 2D map and have to find the right spot on the screen to progress further. It's the one thing that made the last game and makes this one frustrating.

This game is great for die hard South Park fans. The gameplay is a lot of fun but the real gem are the cut scenes. The only downfall that keeps it from 5 stars is the DLC content does not give Xbox one users additional achievements and because the game is on the easier side it was the only thing that kept me going the extra step to get non-story missions done.

If your a South Park fan and love a sorta rts/rpg style of game play buy this game. While the story's plot and humor isn't as good as it's predecessor The Stick of Truth. The game makes up for it with it's addicting game play that can last you to near 60 hours if you do everything it offers. In short the game play is 9 out of 10 in my book while the plot and humor is more 7ish out of 10.

This is a really good game, I'm not really a huge RPG gamer but this is one that has easily found it's way into a steady rotation of what I am currently playing. If you know anything about Southpark please be prepare for lots of language and other crude elements. If you know what you are getting into then please jump in feet first and get ready for good game play and plenty of laughs.

Still playing this game, but enjoying the humour. If you've played South Park: Stick of Truth, the play is a bit different. Not terribly difficult, but definitely different. I personally prefer the previous game's style of play, but have been enjoying the game none the less. Definitely for "mature audiences only"...well...mature audiences with immature/sick sense of humor anyway!

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a great RPG that switches up the formula from The Stick of Truth but is familiar enough that it's still dirty, hilarious and fun to play. I was never a huge fan of South Park but this game is a hysterical parody of pop culture, video games and the current state of the film industry's obsession with superhero movies.

If you like South Park...you will like this game. Mechanically it plays similar to the last South Park RPG. The combat can get a little repetitive but you get a pretty diverse set of characters and moves to break up the monotony. The "game" elements are a little light but the story and characters is pretty amazing if you enjoy South Park.

This game is a riot! The customization is awesome and hilarious. Bra helmet, balls on your chin with an iron man suit. The game play is decent, I’m not big on the fighting style this game offers but other than that, it’s amazing. So much to do, tons of Easter eggs and much more. If you’re a South Park can you should definitely pick this up!

I played sot already, so I knew this game wouldn't be for kids. After they fall asleep I bust out this little gem. Combat system is strange, but intuitive. Graphics are just like the show. Far more vulgar than the show overall, but still funny. They do things on the game the TV show can't.

Picking up nearly immediately after the first game, South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a step forward. The game changes quite a bit with a new battle system, and a few other various items. If you liked the first game and the humor that came from it, you will most likely like this game.

This is a good game overall. True to South Park games, humor, and ridiculousness. However, I do feel as though the story could use a touch of something else, though I can't quite put my finger on it. Not worth full price, but a fair purchase if 30 dollars or under. I give it a B-.

The humor is not too bad. It's hit or miss for me. The first game is slightly better, but hey, I picked this up with the GCU for $15 and the first game is included via digital code. You really can't hate on the game for $15. Very good games, not great.
