When compared to the far more superior "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" "Spectre" (which looks to be Daniel Craig's final Bond film) was just an okay film. The story plot was rather bland and the running time was just far too long. I was also not a fan of Sam Smith's opening title song of "Writing on the Wall" either. Moreover, Christoph Waltz (Blofeld) and Monica Bellucci (Lucia) were both horribly underused as well....and the ending was very weak, as it just shows Bond walking away from a battered Blofeld on a bridge (Blofeld is then taken into custody by MI6) and walking off into the sunset with Lea Seydoux's character, Madeleine! On that note, I suppose that the writers just did this in a nod to the previous films, where Blofeld always manages to come back, but still. The fact that Blofeld can also somehow be like Bond's "half brother" in some way was also laughable. Another problem that I had with this film is the rings that all of the villains supposedly wore on their fingers in previous films that ties them to the SPECTRE organization (this includes Le Chiffe, Dominic Greene, Silva, and finally Blofeld). If so, why was this ring, or the SPECTRE organization, not even mentioned in previous films? The scene where Blofeld drills through Bond's head was also pretty unrealistic as well. However, one thing that I was happy to see is how well they managed to tie every previous Craig era film together in the title sequence. I thought that part was very well done, and Mr. Hinx was also a nice tribute to the late Richard Kiel and his classic Bond villain of "Jaws" as well. In summary, if you're a big Bond fan like me, you'll probably be let down. Moreover, recent reports have also confirmed that Daniel Craig recently turned down a $100 million contract for two more Bond films as well, so it will be interesting to see where this treasured film series goes next.

The Steelbook offerings from Best Buy are nice in that they have unique packaging and are quality Blu-rays. That gets it to two stars. Unfortunately, as far as this movie goes...ugh. Don't get me wrong, I like Daniel Craig as Bond, and unlike a lot of people, I thought Quantum of Solace was a decent Bond flick. Obviously, Casino Royale was his pinnacle, and the writing has gone downhill from their, with QoS wandering a bit, and Skyfall relying heavily on the Bond history to pull through an otherwise weak plot. But Spectre, aside from the first 20 minutes, is by far the biggest bomb yet...and not in a good way. If you thought QoS was bad and felt that things were turning around with Skyfall, brace yourself, because Spectre is worse than QoS. Just my opinion, but I've seen all the Bond flicks multiple times and I'd take a Moonraker era film or even some of the Dalton offerings over this film any day.

Mainly bought this since I collect all James Bond movies and I always get them from Best Buy, along with other Blu Ray selections, without any issues. Shopping experience (5 star) aside, I really wanted to like this movie. This is one of those movies where after the initial viewing, especially after reading many negative reviews online in advance about it, I thought it wasn't "that bad", just "not great." Then as you think about various points in the movie over the next few days, you start to realize how it is an empty movie that serves no other purpose than to pay homage to all the past James Bond movies for a few seconds to a couple of minutes at a time. And taking out the opening sequence, which is truly phenomenal, even the gun barrel was screwed up. Taking away the various insertions to pay homage to the James Bond heritage, this movie has zero soul and feels like they just didn't care anymore.

I have seen every James Bond movie and will admit I am not the biggest bond fan, but this movie to me was boring and along the lines of alot of plot and very limited action! I can't even explain how some of the action didn't seem thrilling or exciting! Plus there just wasn't enough of it! It reminds me of the original James Bond movies where there is so much plot but limited action in the Sean Connery days! Maybe it was just me but I would rank this movie at the bottom of all the Bond movies!

Probably the most boring of all 007 movies. Daniel Craig is obviously bored to death of it(but not the millions of dollars he is paid to "act" as 007). I think Daniel Craig is a fine actor but not as 007 anymore. The last 4 007 entries have been way too serious & nothing like what the original series intended. They are not FUN to watch anymore & play just like any of the other dime a dozen spy thrillers of today.

if you are a 007 fan, I guess you should see this movie but do not rush out to buy it or purchase a movie ticket. Very few actions scenes, most of which where average at best. Seems like Bond spent most of his time with the female leading ladies and not enough whooping up on the bad guys. Skyfall was way better so if you have not seen it, spend your dollars on it.

Not the worst bond movie ever but definitely competing with Roger Moore's films for the title. I only bought it because I own all the other Bond movies. Very disappointed in this movie. Confusing story line and villain was vastly underutilized. Didn't really feel like a threat. Small action sequences with long drawn out scenes that put you to sleep.

I have never professed to be a huge James Bond fan, but I do enjoy a good movie and it doesn't matter if it's a 007 movie or not. This movie is not good. It gives you a little action, has the typical girl, but is a typical plot that you've seen in nearly every James Bond movie by now and 1000 others.

The entire movie is not up to the level of its predecessors. Perhaps we're getting used to the chases and fights but the script and plot here leave a lot to be desired. Not sure why the song won an Oscar. I couldn't wait until it was over. The best part of this DVD was the picture and sound quality.

I've always been a Bond fan but was really disappointed with this one. Thought the movie dragged on and the Spectre aspect could have been more drawn out for future movies. Regardless, the Blu-Ray option is always the best way to go for optimal picture quality and sound.

I was hoping for a different approach of the story in general. This movie was just another typical Bond movie, the chase, the girl, the spy equipment, the car, ect. bond gets the girl, takes a vacation and up for the next story. If you are a Bond movie fan.. here you go.

    Craig's worst Bond film

Directed well. Shot well. Looks like it should be a better film. Unfortunately, it's not. The story is weak, the characters are stale, and the action scenes (excluding the opening) are flat. Allegedly this film completes Craig's run. It is a sad way to go out.

After Skyfall, my expectations were very high for this film. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The plot is slapdash, and it didn't feel like anyone involved had fun making the movie. This is Bond by numbers rather than a movie with something to say.

Bond gets further and further from it's old self, not to say Skyfall wasn't incredible. Bad opening title - where's the classic silhouettes? - and a horrible opening song. I was longing for Carly Simon, Shirley Bassey...lots of stops, few starts...

The opening sequence was incredible, possibly the best ever for a Bond movie. However there were long slow period between action sequences and one very unrealistic climax with the villain. Disappointing

I really like Daniel Craig as James Bond, but this movie is my least favorite of his since he took over the role. It started off really slow and just never got going. Very, very disappointing.

Too bad Daniel Craig stopped caring about being Bond. As brilliant as "Casino Royal" was, this movie is brilliantly terrible. Nonsensical plot. Shame to have to include this in the franchise.

This Bond although ok was not what was expecting. It lack the mystery that one comes to expect from a Bond film. At times it was a bit too comical too Power Ranger, not adult enough for me.

After Skyfall my expectations were extremely high for the next James Bond movie, but this was disappointing. They had such a great actor for a villain but he was underused!!!
