Computer is simply awesome. Very fast, extremely good looking and can handle a lot of stuff. Screen is sharp and colours look good. Battery is descent since screen has a 4K resolution and draws a lot of battery. I am using it as desktop and connecting it to a eGPU. Works like a charm.

Fast boot up, did not run hot, even under heavy use.. (did get warm-ish on the bottom). fan turns on occasionally and is quiet, but noticeable. I am able to use Dell docking station provided by my employer to both charge and operate two external HD+ monitors. 4K screen is very nice, but a little overkill for the screen size and can be hard to use when sun angle cannot be blocked (like in the passenger seat on a sunny day) due to glare.. My kids both have MacBook Pros and where brutal stone crushers when they heard I was giving my Mac to mom and getting a PC for personal use; now eack want their own Spectre360 after playing with mine.. Sexy little toy with impressive performance considering its size..

Great Product, Super Fast Response, Ultra clear 4K Screen, Sturdy Keyboard and Ultra Light that altogether gives a very rich experience. I am really satisfied with the super fast response after installing Multiple Apps ( Although they were light Weight). Plan to Install some heavy Software soon and check the performance. Overall had Good Experince Till Now

I have owned several brands of notebooks over the years. Size has always been key. I do like to use the tablet mode sometimes and the stylus. I also do a lot of writing sitting with my wife on the sofa. I need a real laptop; the pull-aparts don't sit on my lap well. High Points: The keyboard is very satisfying in its tactile feedback and layout. The screen is sharp with good text. Windows 10 scaling has come a long way so the 4K doesn't mean tiny icons etc. I found very little bloatware on the machine and the HP support agent tool is very useful while staying out of the way. Windows Hello works well for both camera and fingerprint. Using Surface devices at work, I am now very addicted to this easy way if securing my machine and still not having too many passwords. Sound is good for a machine this size. It looks great, one of the best looking machines out there. Dual Thunderbolt3 is nice. I use this with a portable TB3 Graphics box for Windows Mixed reality. Overall the ports provided are great. I wouldn't have minded an HDMI but the USB to HDMI adapters are easy and low cost. CONS: Keyboard backlight is on or off and affects battery too much. I wish there as a dimmer setting, not just the single brightness. It can get warm, especially when plugged in and the OS is doing all its background stuff. When you first get it, the fan will run and in a quiet location can be heard. This is because the OS and machine are doing updates and indexing files etc for the first few hours. After that is mostly quite for web surfing, video, and writing. I have even with the 4K display gotten 10 hours of use out of a charge. Changes would have made if I were HP: It should ship with the Tilt Pen. Which is very cool. As said, the KB backlight needs dim mode not just own or off. I do have to say with this machine and Windows 10 it has been super reliable. The one problem I had was that the rear rubber foot (strip) came loose. HP sent me a box with two replacements overnight, so support has been great. I bought used version of this machine for my wife, so she could stop her Envy of my Spectre. (Bad HP pun) One other tip. Don't mess with the power profile settings. It has one profile and Windows 10 lets you adjust the balance power to the battery. If you mess with profiles, you disconnect the special HP power management and I had to do a clean install to fix it. This review is after more than 6 months with the device. I have not seen a better machine for how I want my notebook to behave.

It is fast and light. It is very pretty-- mainly my reason I went for this one. One of the first 8th gen to come out too. Stylus is great-- I don't have much use for it but it is good to have it. The hinge of the laptop though is a little too loose-- the screen angle moves out of position easily when you lift the pc. The clickpad is a little wonky. I'm trying to understand why the right click is not as responsive or the two finger gesture to scroll up is not doing it right. I just use a mouse anyway or I use the touchscreen more on this one. Right ctrl button is confusing to use with the left arrow. Other than that, the PC is good and you can have workarounds to make the quirks work.

Frist impression when I opened the box is that “This a beautiful piece of machinery”. I think the HP Spectre X360 2-in-2 (dark ash silver) is the best-looking laptop. HP finally come out with one ultra-laptop with the right combination of features and performance. Setup was simple and easy and straight forward. Cortana helps with her clear verbal instruction along the way. In about 15 minutes, I am all set up and ready to go. I have been using the Spectre for about a month and couldn’t be any happier. Runs fast and quiet. The fan turns on occasionally. It runs quiet. I hardly noticed it is on. The temperature of the laptop is just barely warm to the touch at the fan exhaust. The keyboard and the touch pad work and feel solid. I have not encountered any of the issues, such as loose keys, uneven feel of the touch mentioned by the other reviewers. Note: As delivered, the system did not support wireless Miracast. Updating the Bios took care of the problem. The preinstalled HP Support Assistant shows clearly how to do the update. I found that the HP Support Assitant is uninstructive and quite useful. The HP Spectre comes with very little bloatware. I replaced the Mcafee with Norton, since I have already a subscription of Norton. I did get suckered into get a subscription of Office 365. So far I am liking it. The 1TB OneDrive cloud storage is just gravy. Some comments on other reviews: The first reviewer gave the Spectre a one-star rating when he encountered one issue after another with 4 successive machines. That did give me a pause. I was encouraged on the other hand by the raving reviews from others. So, I decided to give it a go. So far so good, excellent. One reviewer was not happy with the u-SD as it sticks out about 1mm from the slot. I found the 1-mm protrusion of the u-SD is hardly noticeable. This small protrusion is needed to allow easy extraction of the SD card: by pushing the SD card until it bottoms out and let go quickly so that it will pop out ~5mm to be pulled out easily.

At first I was hesitant about how the battery life would perform on this device since it has a 4k screen and an i7 processor, but I have to say I have absolutely floored with the amount of time I can spend doing work on this machine without needing to be tethered to a wall like I was with my previous laptop. I was also not sure how a 4k display would look on something with such a small screen, but the added clarity and color accuracy make this thing a joy to watch videos with. That being said, any long-term movie watching would be best enjoyed with a good pair of headphones as the speakers are not anything to write home about. The keyboard feels very nice with a solid amount of key travel for the size. I typically type on a mechanical keyboard at home, and this keyboard feels fantastic still. Now onto my complaints. The first device I purchased had an "N" key that did not press down at all. It would not register that I pressed the key at all. I exchanged that one for a second model. On the second unit, the "3" key had an issue of being very mushy and occasionally not registering that I had pressed it; however, something may have just been stuck under the key because it now feels and works properly after a week of use. My main concern with this second unit is that the hinges seem to be a bit uneven. They are flared out a bit and are not flush with the body at all. At first I thought they were designed to be flared out, but upon closer inspection the amount of unevenness in the hinges is not consistent between the two. I took it back into Best Buy and they said that's how the hinges are supposed to look, but I am a bit hesitant still. Especially after looking at other photos online. Lastly, this thing will light your lap on fire. I get that there is a beefy processor inside such a tiny form factor, but I swear I could fry an egg on the underside of this thing even after doing something as simple as writing in onenote. Overall, the specs of the product and the feel of it seem to be well worth the cost of admission. Certain things like the hinges and the fact that I feel like my legs might light on fire have me a bit concerned about the longevity of a laptop like this, but that's why you pay for geeksquad right?

I have been using this machine for over 1 year now. I use it heavily for work (~50 hours per week). I have found the performance to be great and that has always been consistent. I work for a Managed Services provider and always have several applications and a million tabs open, and it handles everything with no problem. I bought it mainly for a convenient laptop to travel with, and it has definitely come through there. It's light and easy to take anywhere. I can bring it into meetings and take notes with the pen without it seeming obtrusive, as it is about the same size as a notebook when it is flipped into tablet mode. The pen can be a little finicky at times and I have found that every now and then I have to unscrew the top to open the battery access, which I am guessing "reboots" it, and then it will function normally. The screen is sharp and bright. The keyboard is a bit softer than some others I have used, but I am comfortable typing on it and the backlight works great. I like that the function buttons on the top row can be pressed without holding down the Fn button. The speakers work fine for watching shows, but of course they are small and can't project far with good quality, but that is expected. For the size the laptop is and what I need it for, they sound great and I have no complaints. The only issues I have had: 1. The touchpad. This is the weakest element of this machine in my opinion. Every time there is a Windows 10 version update, my touchpad stops working. Also from the beginning, it took some registry edits and tweaks to get the precision touch drivers to work with gestures at all. Currently I can only use a mouse because I don't have time to troubleshoot and fix the touchpad again. This has happened at least 3 times now. I have removed the device, reinstalled drivers, and still nothing. This has been frustrating for a laptop that I would like to be mobile. Bringing a mouse or using the pen for everything is not convenient in all situations. 2. Right after the 1-year warranty expired, I started getting errors on startup about the fan not functioning. I can hear a fan spinning, and temperatures seem normal, so I'm not sure what to do about that. It might be a false alert. I work in IT, so sometimes at the end of the day I have no time or patience for my own IT issues. These minor problems I've experienced have been a bit of an annoyance, but overall I adore this laptop and really enjoy using it. I would still buy it again!

I recently bought this laptop because I was heading to graduate school. I was hung up on all the different 2-in-1 laptops that had there own ups and downs. One thing that people brought up was the temperature. When I first got the laptop and had to update things, it did run pretty warm. But a lot of people solved this problem by updating all the system BIOS and required HP updates. After all the updates, the laptop has been running much more cooler. Because the laptop itself has a metal body, it will conduct heat more as compared to plastic or other larger computers where the CPU or battery are located farther from where you usually touch the computer. Just to make sure, I installed a CPU temp monitoring program which allows me to see the temperature of the computer. When the laptop feels "hot" I check the temp of the CPU and find it around 54-56~ F when using it for a while, which is normal beyond belief for laptops these days. A lot of people also mention a "whining/Whirring" noise when the keyboard light it lit up, in all honesty, you need to really be leaning in and listening to the computer to hear it. Also, unless you use computers is super quite spaces, the sound will ultimately be drowned out by background noise or study music. It has been fast, responsive, beautiful to look at and use. The pen included works really well and feels nice, not sure for people who may have larger hands or wide grips. The laptop sleeve it comes with is also great for transporting the laptop, it fits nice and snug. The only other down side I did find was that one of the laptop hinges are a little miss aligned compared to the other side. I was worried at first, but it isn't as miss aligned as what other people may have. The hinge does not creek, squeak, or come close to scratching the surrounding body of the computer. There isn't even any problems when going into tablet mode. It is something I will keep an eye on, but I also have it covered under warranty just in case. Because it barely effects my usage of the laptop and does't seem to affect the screen, in my situation, I am totally fine with it. I do recommend people to go try it out at the store for yourselves. Do your own research, talk to others, even the workers there. Bring up your worries and talk it out. Even if this computer may not be for you, there is bound to be something to tickle your tech itch.

This is our second Spectre, the first I bought after reading a review with the title I used. Battery life is excellent. Performance is excellent. And it’s a metal jacketed touch screen two-in-one. I bought this to replace my wife’s other Spectre that she is passing on for another business purpose. That was good, and this is better. It works well, has great specs, and at an affordable price. Plus it went on sale the day after I bought it and Best Buy refunded me the difference. All hail HP, all hail Best Buy!

Cons: heats up your lap to an uncomfortable level if you aren’t careful. And it’s very light to the point it doesn’t stay on your lap well. Lid is extremely flimsy feeling. Pros: gorgeous looking. Super lightweight for great portability. Has the webcam in correct location. Opinion: I fell for the design but should of bought the comparable Lenovo or a Mac.

I did some online laptop comparisons which became more confusing the more time I spent comparing. So I decided to go to Best Buy to talk to an expert. After about 30 minutes with a Best Buy associate I purchased a Lenora laptop. I returned it the next day because it only had 128G storage which is not enough for my needs. I then looked at the HP Spectre, with 512G storage. There was some special sale pricing going on that week so I only paid around $100 more vs the Lenovo. I have been very happy with it so far. Very fast on startup because it is solid state. Very lightweight which is a feature I need for traveling vs my old Dell laptopwhich is quite heavy(almost 7 years old). The ability to fold it into a tablet is handy for games or movies but so far I’ve used it most of the time with the keyboard. The touch screen is very nice to have and the track pad has new gestures that I’m learning and have found useful. Overall, I am glad I purchased this laptop and am hard pressed to find a negative with it.

This has to be one of the best looking laptops of this size aesthetically. It is so nice looking I am scared to scratch it when taking advantage of the 360 hinge. The screen is great, the keyboard is nice to type on, and the touchpad is one of the better ones I have used on a daily basis. It has a good variety of ports including two USB-C, but they do not like anything charging the device other than the factory charging block ( It is possible though). It is also very sturdy feeling which is a huge gripe of mine on most laptops. Heat is noticeable between the keyboard and screen but doesn't seem to affect anything or usage. I have not found anything I have really disliked. I did come from a 15" prior to this, and sometimes wish I bought this laptops bigger brother with the same specs; however, this is great for travel and using in the car at this size. Oh, the battery life is amazing!

I wanted to give this laptop 5 stars. But have to settle for 4. Here is why: The bottom right side of the case makes a popping sound every time you hold it a certain way or lightly press on it. It's like something is not lined up inside on this model because I got one, noticed the issue so I exchanged it for another, different Best Buy store, same problem. I didn't even unwrap the plastic on the 2nd one and tested right away. Then I went online and see that this issue dates back to a few yrs on the x360. Maybe most people who buy the laptop don't care. The case is not loose or anything. It is just that when you hold it a certain way, it pops on the bottom and it happens every time. This is supposed to be HP top of the line laptop. What happened? I like the machine and really wanted to keep it. But after paying so much, I am not happy because I am not getting a perfectly built machine. I eventually kept the laptop but I have posted this issue on the HP forum as well. Another user reached out and said he had the same issue. Otherwise the performance is great. I like it. Battery is good, speed is awesome. The face recognition is fast. Keyboard is smooth. Feels good while holding. Comes with a case. It's just that silly popping sound!

I purchased this laptop to replace my Asus Zenbook, which I though I loved. This HP is faster, lighter, and better looking ..... and the keyboard is the cherry on top. I am a short & petite person. I have small hands. The keys are closer to the edge, making for a more comfortable fit and natural resting place for my hands. I didn't even realize I had an issue until I started using this keyboard and I didn't get indents in my wrists from where they rested on the Asus Zenbook.

I got this 2 in 01 laptop a month ago. It has a 150$ discount and I got additional 150$ student discount, so I got it for 1299$ (tax included). It is very powerful with core i7 8th gen, 16G ram and 512 ssd. I do not think you can buy a 2in1 with this configuration in this price range. It works fine and I am pleased with my purchase. However, there are some cons to this product as well. 1. the pen does not works as handy and accurate as advertised, but get the job done and is not irritating. 2. It gets HOT sometimes and the fan makes noise. This is an issue reported by many for this 2in1. it took me a day to figure out how to handle it. I had to manually change some settings and lower the maximum allowance of cpu usage. 3. HP support software is not very user friendly. 4.There is a recovery drive as D just sitting there! They did not bother themselves to hide it!
