I upgraded from a 3 yr old 13" model, which I liked, but this laptop performs better, has a much more comfortable keyboard, better screen, and is faster. It's a bit heavier than I would like, but a very sweet machine.

I replaced a one-year old Lenovo that I had never been happy with. This HP is much better in every way. It is much faster to boot up, The screen is nice. But what I really like is the feel of the keyboard and a much better touchpad. I do not get unwanted selections from my hand hitting this touchpad like I did with the old computer. (Nothing helped the old one other than completely turning it off). The negatives are no dvd player and only one usb port.

I brought this laptop during Black Friday for $1100. So I’ve only had it about 3 weeks. So far everything has been great and it came with a nice leather carrying case. The color is absolutely beautiful. It very thin and sleek. It starts up very quickly. Only downside is the face recongntion could be better. When I first registered my face I didn’t have my glasses on so when I try to unlock the computer with my glasses on the system won’t recognize me.
I’ll post an updated review after I use it a little longer.

This is by far my favorite laptop I have ever used. I am a tech with 10 years experience and this laptop is easy to adapt to and well made it has enough speed for hard and heavy work and also keeping the device Thin and stylish. It comes with the sleeve and a pen for tablet work or drawing which is very very responsiv.
This is by far one of the best for the price and you get excactly what you pay for if not more

I was originally looking at a Surface Book, but after reviewing specs, reviews, and price on one of these I was swayed. I'm a CS student who needed a little more power than a e-mail / paper writing device, this has not let me down. It's been able to handle Forza 4 Horizon at 1080/ 60 with very little heat output as well. I could go on forever about this device, but seriously no regrets about this purchase.

I returned an MSI gaming laptop they ran hot, loud, felt like poor quality. I did not have confidence it would last long. I got this laptop with the same specifications except better graphics. I’m not a gamer and I’m using this for school. The graphics are great, it’s fast, quiet and it looks like it will last many years. The keyboard is superb. I recommend this product and also the HP Spectre 13 too.

Pros-
Quite beautiful even at 1080p. You can go to Best Buy and see it for yourself, but the one thing you cannot do at Best Buy is color calibration which is included in the software on this PC. It refreshes at 60Hz and there is no sign of ghosting at all. It is Pen enabled(!) if you have an HP Active Stylus or (sorry HP) the Dell Venue Pen which several people in Notebook Forum Reviews have said works better with less pressure. I have the Venue Pen (750-AAGN) which has fixed the battery life issue that the early Venue Pens had and doesn't require any pressure. I personally use this for note taking in class with OneNote and it does very well. There is a con, but I'll cover that below. As for finger touches, it totally gets them and I've never had an issue utilizing the touch screen for any commands. Also, in tablet mode the keyboard keys are disabled so once you fold it all the way back you can hold it however you need to.
-Cons-
Shiny screen = glare. It is an annoyance at best, but it had to be mentioned. I picked up the screen protector sold on here and it didn't reduce glare at all, but does well for protecting the screen. You can combat glare by raising the brightness past a certain level, but you sacrifice battery life to do so. The con for the Dell Venue pen is how close the tip has to be to the screen to have it be detected. This could be an issue with the pen and not the laptop, but in OneNote sometimes I have to touch the screen with the tip before it is detected. I can't say whether the HP Active Pen does this as well since I don't have it to compare, but I wanted to mention it.

I originally got this laptop because I wanted something with windows ink capabilities, but it has turned out to be much more than I could have asked for. The fan doesn't seem to turn on much unless you are taxing the system with intensive gaming or video editing. Plus, it looks great too, from the 4k screen to the color of the laptop itself with gold gold accents. I was able to get this for the Black Friday price of $1,100, that's $500 off regular price, and I couldn't pass it up.

I needed a computer for processing images in Lightroom and Photoshop that was easy to take around and handled the job well. I researched and several places suggested the latest Spectre. I had a 13 inch one before and decided on the 15 for the bigger screen. Still just 2 lbs heavier than the 13 inch latest version and the resolution is amazing. It processes items quickly, especially when plugged in...but the battery has a nice long life and still delivers great performance. Like camera people who have a preference between Canon and Nikon, I have always preferred HP and time and time again have not been disappointed (exception a few years back with twist hinge convertible). This will handle a lot!

Got this after returning Dell & another HP laptop . This is little expensive Laptop but got best deal from Best Buy (Paid $1450 , got $150 BestBuy Reward certificate ! ) . Very good display (4K ) & very fast . I was planning to buy MacBook Pro 15” i7 500 GB got shocking price . My only concern is , how long my most expensive HP Laptop (generally all windows laptop has shortest lifespan ) will last ! Best Buy staffs are very helpful to choose the right laptop .

Got this beauty on sale for $1,099. For the price it checks all boxes I was looking for. 8th Gen i7, 16gb ram, 4k screen, 512 gb SSD, Dedicated graphics card, tablet mode, comes with a Pen. The packaging is very high standard and love the premium look and finish of the laptop. Its lightning fast to login with face detection. The screen quality is amazing and battery life is good. Definite must buy for the price. Thank you HP and Best Buy.

I had been shopping for a laptop for months. I waited until after CES 2018 to find out the latest laptops coming out. I wanted 15.6", 10-key, i7 with 8th gen intel chip and SSD. This laptop checked all the boxes. I was upgrading from a very old i3 laptop, so this was a huge upgrade for me. I debated between the LG Gram, Lenovo Carbon X1 and Dell XPS 15 as well. None of them had all the features I wanted for this price. I had seen the previous model Spectre 360 over a month ago, and I loved how it looked but it didn't have 10-key. Then I found out about this version and I had to drive to Burbank store to see it in person. I immediately knew it was the machine for me. It's lightweight, about 4lbs, is very fast, beautiful 4K screen, comes with pen, is convertible 2-in-1. Note this does have 2 USB-C ports, but only 1 of them is thunderbolt. Only the higher end model with the Vega graphics card has the 2 thunderbolt ports, and BB doesn't carry this one. The keyboard is very comfortable. I have an old VGA monitor, but was able to find a cheap HDMI to VGA adaptor to use. It does have also a full SD card slot and one USB-A port. Screen is beautiful. Battery life is also pretty good. I've left unplugged, used about 3-4 hours per day, sleep mode when not in use and gotten 3 days out of it. Great machine so far and I'm hoping it lasts me for years to come with all the great features it has.

I originally looked at this brand of computer back in 15 and I am glad I waited. Its such a good computer you already know all the specs so listing them is not needed. For school or work this is a great computer. I personally don't use the tablet portion but it is a nice feature. I do use the touch screen and pen a lot. Also the battery life is pretty decent. I think you'll like it

I waited a month to write this review so I could have time to fully evaluate the laptop and make sure that no problems would arise. The laptop has performed great. The speed of the SSD drive makes this laptop sing. I am also very impressed with the quality of the screen. I love the lighted keyboard. The laptop also runs cool as very little heat is generated when using.

I would recommend this laptop for anyone who needs all the bells and whistles. It works amazingly and has gotten me compliments for speed in my college classes. It works great for coding classes and the touch screen works super well. I've been using mine for two years, take it everywhere, and its still going strong.

It took quite a while for me to chose the HP Spectre over other laptops, but I'm very happy that I chose the HP. It is perfect for my needs. It is a bit heavier than I would prefer, but stays cool while on and the battery life has been great. I would chose this computer again.
