These are a lot of fun. My kids so well as my wife and I love them. The problem being that if you have a cheap tablet, its probably not going to work. The main reasons being: You need Bluetooth 4.0+ (BLE) A gyroscope And an acceloramator We just spent 1400 on tablets we weren't expecting on buying, just for the toys. Dont get me wrong, we didnt gave to spend as much as we did (2 kids 2 balls 2 tabs ) on the tablets. Could have come in right around 1k for the two if doing as cheap as possible for the two. But we spent the extra, made the tablets ours but let the kids use them when they want to play. We also use them for business.

I have had a great del of fun with this little ball. The application is a little too weird for my taste, but it is easy enough to eliminate the noises that it wants to play. The device is very responsive to the controller, at least on my iPhone. The app also has a mode where you roll the ball around and it interacts with the image on the screen. I wasn’t very good at that. Just as I was getting a little bored with it, I discovered another app you can download for free that lets you program the ball to move in predictable ways. That should really increase my enjoyment of this little fun ball. This coul be a very good teaching device for a young programmer to be. Like the title says, everything included but a cat to really have fun with this.

The biggest plus of this product is that it charges quickly (about 20 minutes) while other Sphero products take about 2 hours. It is far less expensive so I appreciate that Sphero tried to create something more affordable. It's not very responsive and it clatters as it moves because the tech rolls inside the outer shell. But because of its small size kids are able to do fun things with it such a put it under a plastic cup and make the cup move across a smooth floor. I give this a "yes" recommendation based on being more affordable for some families who want to offer their children a code-capable toy.

Creep At A Crawl or Zoom At A Pretty Good Clip.

This simple robot can provide hours of fun. Once connected to a bluetooth device, let the racing begin, and you can also set up an obstacle course with the included bowling pins and traffic cones, when you're done controlling the sphero pick it up and use it as a controller in the app included games. I am taken back at how well these little robots are made. While controlling them, notice that they have absolute variable speed. So you can creep at a crawl or zoom at a pretty good clip. They were super easy to connect. They are just slightly bigger than a ping pong ball. Mine charged in just under 15 minutes and gave me almost 45 minutes of run time. These are simply fun!!

This ball is kind of fun. More fun for the cat though. I put this thing and start moving it around and the kitten just goes insane for this thing. She runs at it, paws at it, pounces at it and is just fascinated by this thing. The big cat doesn't care about this, but for kittens that are still very much rooted in play, they will love this thing. I guess this thing has games on it, but you will get far more enjoyment out of this thing if you have a very young kitten and just play with it through this.

This is my first experience with any of the Sphero products. Honestly, it is just an ok product for me. The lights are cool. I think the kids will like it because of how you can control it from your phone but I think they will put this down quickly. It's only so much you can do with it. Pets will have a good time with it also. The joystick control is awkward at times. It's kind of cool that you can control it with your face. Like I said, kids will like it. This could be a gift for anyone under the age of 6. Older kids may quickly get bored with it.

Larger Sphero devices tend to run from $100 and up. This Mini device can use the same Edu App as all other devices so a child can continue to hone their Coding skills. Big plus is that is charges quickly (about 30 minutes compared to an 1 1/2 hr charge time for larger ones.) Downside is it doesn't run a true path, so that can prove somewhat frustrating. As one who works with kids, I have recommended this product to parents as a more financially feasible means to gift their children one of the coveted Sphero products.

Bought it as a gift for my 9-year-old niece. She saw it at her class in school and wanted to get one. It's a good way for kids who are interested in robotics and programming. The sphero mini is about the size of a ball and is programmable with any iOS or android device. So far she hasn't gotten over it and I'm hoping she'll enjoy it for at least a little while before she moves on to something else.

Initially I found the Sphero Mini to be an intersting toy. Very maneuverable and easy to set up with your cell phone. It is responsive and has some intersting configuration settings. However, I am concerned that a child will play with it for an hour or so and then probably not pick it up again. What will be interesting is to see if Sphero continues to update the app and device to be able to do new tasks to keep it fresh. However, at $49 it may be worth it if your child likes these types of toys.

I purchased 3 of these for my children, all which have their own tables and other devices to be able to play with these. They enjoy playing with them very much. I got to admit even I enjoyed trying it out with them. It's relatively easy to set up on devices that have the Google Play Store. However, on Amazon Tablets it was tricky to set up. Besides that it is fun and easy to use.

The concept is great. The ball works as expected. The controller via my Galaxy s9+ seems sloppy and slow to react. I purchased this to occupy my cat but the ball just isn't percise enough to play and manuever with him. Without a particular goal in mind it may do well for youngsters in a large clear flat space. Doesn't do carpet well. Always seem to have to recalibrate the directionals.

We bought this for our 6yr old daughter, she has used it numerous times. It is simple to use, easy to charge, came with fun obstacle course materials and has provided her with hours of exciting creating. It is small enough for her hands and is everything the regular Sphero is. To code it is simple, it charges up quickly and holds its charge.

I originally purchased the Cosmo robot and he’s a great little toy. I recently purchased this because I wanted to purchase something similar but more portable and easier to setup. I also love the games that utilize the ball as the controller. If you’re in the market for a fun little robot to program or just mess around with, for the price this is a great pick up.

My son loves to play with this, and he is developing good skills from interacting with it. It is intuitive so he figured it out pretty quickly. I expected the app to have more features and complexity though. I hope it keeps developing/improving over time. Otherwise, I am very happy with this purchase. Price point seems reasonable too.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son. He has had other Sphero products that were great. The toy worked for the first day. After that single day, we have not been able to get the Bluetooth to connect to any other device. It is been a disappointment. Unfortunately, my son already threw away the packaging so we’re stuck with a small spendy toy that doesn’t work.

I bought this for my son who has wanted a Sphero for a while now. My kids tend to love a toy for a few weeks and then forget about it. I didn't want to spend a ton for the full size but he still found this fun! He uses it to play with the cat and dog. The IOS app is easy to set up and has a variety of options. Definitely worth the money for the mini!

Purchased over the holidays for my oldest and he is really enjoying it. Thus far we have used it with the Sphero Play and Code app. Which thus far is pretty cool. There are a couple of different play modes other than the basic steering like driving using facial expressions and mini golf.
