I’ve been wanting to get this game for a while now and finally decided to get it. First of all, I absolutely love the art style of the game and how the characters look, that’s one of the reasons I wanted to play it. Secondly, it is tons of fun! It has a solo campaign that teaches you how to play and gives you practice to prep for the multiplayer modes. The solo campaign isn’t big, so if you wanted to only play solo then I would advise not get this game. That brings me to my third point, the multiplayer. It is a lot of fun and the maps switch up regularly. Recently I got the Octo expansion pass and that adds about 80 new solo levels and customization gear. Overall this has quickly become one of my favorite games to play and look forward to the time that I get to sit and play it. Highly recommend!

I loved the original Splatoon and the sequel doesn't disappoint. It takes everything we loved about Splatoon 1, and makes the small, but necessary improvements leading to an even better experience. The ability to play this any where on Switch is a huge draw. I haven't been able to put the game down!

My sons and I love this game! Thank you Nintendo for always thinking about the children. Each side has to fill the maps with more of their teams color. No bullets! No blood! Only paint splat! If you have more than one child that wants to play together it is not possible with only one Switch console.

Splatoon 2 is a great game following up the original one. Controls feel smooth, the design of the game is nice and its easy to pick up on. I would say definitely a fun game for people who want to play shooters and especially for the parents who doesn't want their kids playing games that kill people.

This game is fun and has no shortage of Nintendo's charm. Local split screen would have been nice though.

I hadn't played the first game going into this second but I had heard great things and wanted to see what the hype was about. Turns out it is very warranted, it is one of the most fun shooters I have played in a long time! Single player and multi-player are equally as interesting. Highly recommend!

As someone who never played Splatoon 1, I have to say that I love Splatoon 2. The online play is so fun and has great variety (turf wars, ranked, and this cool team effort called Salmon Run). The story mode is fun too, and the expansion to the game can add hours of additional play.

Currently have 40 hours into the game as well as numerous hours with the original. Personal thoughts: -Game comes with 8 stages at launch. Some of them are pretty decent, while some can be frustrating. The other frustrating thing is the game is on rotation where 2 stages are selected for each mode, and rotate every 2 hours. If there is a stage you dislike, then you are stuck with it. -Ranked battles are fun, but hectic. Like the map rotation, modes are swapped out every 2 hours. I really wish some of these modes were non-ranked along with turf war, but oh well. -Salmon run is a lot of fun and the hectic nature of it can be a great break from the base game, but it is only open at certain times during the day and certain days. A big issue. -The game has a decent amount of weapons to choose from, many of which are back from the first game. You can buy new weapons each level up to level 30, but you can level up to level 50 currently. However, the drawback is there are certain crutch weapons people use online a lot that need to be balanced better. -Splatfest is currently one of the biggest reasons to play. Each splatfest, a new topic is chosen (There has already been cake vs ice cream and mayo vs mustard in the US and PAL versions) and you choose a team and play in Turf War over the next 24 hours. The events are about 1-2 times a month, and you get bonuses at the end for participating. Its a lot of fun and one of the main moments the game shines. Overall, the game is a lot of fun, but the current lack of content is a issue until they get more maps and weapons out. Still though, a must buy for the Switch and a great multiplat game to choose over ARMS.

Great gameplay mechanics. I didn't play Splatoon on Wii U, so this is my first go around with the series. Super fun to pick up and play. It's not soooo addictive that I can't stop after a few rounds. For younger players, I can see how the online play component could get too hard and frustrating.

Splatoon 2 takes everything that made the first one amazing and adds so much more! Tighter controls, better graphics, more items, and even more maps. Absolutely adore this "kid" friend shooter. And add the fact you can take it on the go and continue playing? Amazing! Totally worth the admission.

The Switch is a great gaming device but it is still lacking in the number of quality games. This is a very solid addition to the Switch lineup and will help pass the time between Zelda and Mario. It can be as competitive or casual as you want it to be. Very accessible for gamers of all ranges.

The online multiplayer aspect of this game is pretty fun. Communication is limited if you're playing with randoms but that's probably to keep everything PG. I haven't played much single player since that doesn't get the heart racing as much as coming back from behind in any online game mode.

I didn’t realize that this was an online game, And unless you’re a liar and the game is pretty much useless. I should’ve done more research. Now with that being said, once I got online the game is pretty awesome. My six-year-old girls love it.

This is a game that has been on my kids wishlist for a while and they love it!

Bought this game for my daughter and she loves it. It is challenging getting used to the motion controls, more difficult for me then it is for her! Not sure if this game offers split screen for two or more players but it should be an option if not...please make it Halo style capture the flag!

Principal at school forgot to invite me when my son got an award & invited me last minute & I was unable to attend. So as a proud mother of my son I decided to buy him this game he has been looking at in every store. Thank you!

Fun game with friends! though i feel like a pro controller might be needed for more comfortable play

Splatoon 2 is Nintendo's take on the shooter genre. It's cartoony, and fun and it's theme is appropriate for kids, however there is some depth there with regards to the various paint guns and the game play mechanic of winning for having more paint covering the arena than the other side. Overall, this game is surprisingly fun. It also has a single player mode that, while not remarkable, is fun to make your way through the various levels.

Bought this for my son for Christmas. I’m sure he’ll love it, he talks about it all the time. Will not play it until then so cannot comment on game play yet. Purchase was fast and easy, so was curbside pickup, very convenient.

30 hours in the game so far, lot of fun. Would recommend it. Matches are no more than 3 minutes, which makes it very casual-friendly. I think my only gripe with the game so far is Salmon Run's difficulty scaling. It ramps up very quickly. Currently struggling to stay in "profeshional."
