    Great for everything except being a PHONE!

    Iv'e been with Boost for years, and I've had other phones on their plan that worked quite well (despite the spotty coverage areas). Three weeks ago I purchased this new Moto E at my local Best Buy. I enjoyed the new features and the faster (for Boost) internet speeds. Most of my communication is by text and email, but after a few days and several phone calls, I noticed that numerous people were telling me that I was "breaking up" and "going in and out". They also described the sound as garbled and muffled. Sometimes they couldn't hear me at all and simply hung up. Note: I do not have a cover on this phone. It was never dropped or gotten wet. I'm not holding my hand over the mic. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the lousy transmission and lack of clarity. It doesn't matter where I am, who I'm talking to, what distance I am from the recipient caller or what the atmospheric condition is. As far as the sound quality that I'm getting from others, I find it to be somewhat cheap and "boxy". I've had $30 Net 10 flip phones in the past that blew this thing away in terms of call clarity. I'm not claiming that all new Boost Moto E's are problematic, but my personal experience with this particular item has been extremely disappointing. Hopefully Best Buy will allow an exchange for a different model. After all, what if you had to make a 9-1-1 call and the operator couldn't hear you? Not worth the risk, in my book. This phone is either going back to Best Buy or into the trash.

    After having this phone for about a month, i feel that im qualified to leave a review... this is easily one of the worst phones ive used... ive worked at verizon and att as well as managing my own kiosk so ive used a variety of phones... to start... its slow...unbearably slow at times to which ill get the message that the app isnt responding only for it to load afterwards... this is with very few apps running on the phone. the camera is just not good and has no flash... im also treated to daily restarts, sometimes multiple restarts within the day while the phone is just SITTING there, not even in use! I could go on more, but i would never recommend this phone to anyone and plan to get something else immediately

    Major fail with speaker

    The phone was good for about 2-3 days. The features were good and it worked fine. The access panel for the SD card was hard to get to. The speaker on the phone failed after the 2nd or 3rd day. Could not hear the phone ring and unable to hear any activity on the phone. Tried to trouble shoot and found out this was a known issue. This could have been a good phone and I am surprised that Motorola would not do more to address this issue. Had to return the phone.

    If you take pictures DO NOT GET THIS PHONE AT ALL....I should have read more reviews, to find out how cruddy this camera is......the phone it self is great to be honest, but I need a flash (it has NO flash) and decent camera with my phone (I don't even know what VGA is). Just bought it today July 2nd 2015 and I'm taking it back tomorrow soon as Best Buy opens. If it had a better camera, this would have been a 5 start phone, but that one thing literally kills any joy for me with this phone.

    Android software update, froze the phone

    This phone has poor battery life. You cannot add an app without granting Google access to your contacts and calendar and even your photos. That's too invasive for me. Recent android update completely froze the unit on startup. It stayed in a state of "loading" until the battery ran down. After recharging it finally booted. I also own an iPhone 6 so I can't image why I bought a $30 piece of junk. Just wanted a spare cell phone.

    This ia by far the absolute worst phone i have ever purchased. I would much rather use an old school flip phone. The camera was gritty and grainy and whenever you made a call it sounded like you were under water. The only reason this phone got a one star rating is because it wouldnt let me continue without rating. Otherwise I would have given it a negative 100!!!!!!!!!

    i though this phone will be better than it's predecessor , moto G, " Wrong! bluetooth did,t work well with my headphones , i was so frustrated thinking it was the headphones i them away ( $ 75.00), bought a new headset just to find itthe problem is the phone it self , we got 2 of this phones and we have the same problem people calling us and phone is not detecting the calls, i'm being generous giving it 1 star!

    can't unlock pho,in 4 wks only 1 placed 1 call

    I'm unable to answer calls, find voicemail, days ago the pho locked-up. Moto CSR "helped" for 36 mins., she sent an email, told me to read it. said if that doesn't help call them back. horrible customer service, atrocious (beyond the worst) phones. I'm retired, unable to afford a Samsung or iPhone. I've had cell phones for 16 years, ths moto g is a complete joke.

    Bad microphone. Others can't hear me. Touch screen slow. Phone will ring several times but it can't be answered because the screen to answer won't show up until the 3rd ring. Also no flash for the camera. Even $30 phones are better. Total waste of money. Sadly I accidentally dropped it and got a tiny crack in the corner of the screen so I can't return it.

    I don't like this phone at all...every time I open my screen it brings me to the option of making a call...I don't always want to make a call! It drops calls and does not record if I miss a call when my service is in a bad area..it has frozen up on me and I've only had it for a month...

    Battery can not be removed when frozen. It had an issue with boostmobile and requested it to be fixed, on both different occasions that I called and the issue was never resolved. Therefore, their business with me was unfair and illegal. I reported the issue to consumers affair.

    I have always loved Motorola phones, and the price for the Moto E sounded like such a bargain. Too bad the phone was not a bargain. There are a lot of issues with this phone, including a lousy mic, camera issues, and random freezing. I guess that's why the price is what it is.

    Bought this for my 11 year old daughter and have had to factory reset it 4 times in a month. The phone does not work properly at all! Jome button disappears and you can do nothing. I do not recommend. Returning to purchase a different phone

    The phone was working great in every aspect except for phone calls. Nobody could hear me on the other end. Not sure if it was just my phone but I went in a few times to get it checked and there was no real solution. Ended up exchanging it.

    this Motorola moto e phone is a old metro pcs phone. I bought this boost phone yesterday brand new out of the box. when I send a email is says sent from metro pcs phone. best buy and boost need to fix this. This is not good.

    This was the absolute WORST phone I've ever purchased. After 1 week the battery looses its charge. The phone cuts in and out no one I'm talking to can hear me, Bluetooth in my car is 10 times worse. Went back to my Moto G.

    After two days the wifi connection quit working and would not reconnect. I returned it. My Verizon Motorola Droid is connected to same wifi connection and works just fine.

    Unfortunately, I got a defective phone this time. I had a Moto G before that was great! Maybe this was just a fluke with the Moto E. The Moto phones have really great features, if they work.

    Not user friendly. Waste of money customer service hard to reach. Takes forever to charge. Would not recommend to anyone Best Buy recommended at store but apparently does not use.
