My husband and I were remodeling and wanted the benefit of adding an ice maker. We didn't want a built in machine and bought one to go in our new walk-in pantry. A previous review mentioned the machine was a little noisy. I find that to be true but as a precaution, I had the walls around our new walk-in pantry insulated to help with the ice maker being loud. It wasn't a reason we wouldn't buy it, since we decided to use insulation to make sure we didn't hear it. It is fairly noisy when the fan runs but is otherwise, very quiet. It dropped the first batch of ice within 20 minutes of when I plugged it in and it makes 5 cubes per batch. The bin was full after about 14 hours. We are going to keep trash bags full of ice in our freezer in case we ever need more ice than this machine may make so I couldn't see spending the money for a higher capacity machine, just for that reason. I couldn't be more pleased with this machine. Great product for the price and delivery was quicker than I was promised. I had a plumber create the water hookup but I hooked up the water line using compression bolts provided by the plumber and a little plumber's tape around the threads and voila, no leaks and easy to do.

I bought this ice maker as s birthday present for myself 2 years ago. The 1st one did not come on. I returned it. Got a 2nd one it worked for slightly over a year. It stopped working. I had to use my coverage to get a 3rd one. I paid for another service policy. 3rd one lasted less than a year. Just got the replacement. It did not work. Returned it awaiting number 5. When it is working. It is great. The one of the guys at store was smug and said well this is a low end ice maker you could upgrade. I've already spent over 600 in 3 years to have this ice maker

After 8 months, it stopped making ice. Louder humming sound. Did all the troubleshooting with no resolution. It was good while it lasted but will not by again.
