It was awesome to be able to relive my childhood replying all of these games. The graphics are good and they didn't mess with the game play or controls too much. My only gripe is with the technology these days it would have been cool to see way more detail in this. They still kept the original cartoony style. Missed opportunity.

I have all the originals from the PS1 era so I'm making a reviewed based on past to present.
Spyro reignited trilogy would have easily earned a five star rating. Let's start with the positive:
First,it's Spyro! The gameplay is as fun and addictive as you remember on the PS1. There have also been some added bonuses and levels that were not in the original title. In fact, gaining entry into the first one nets you an easy trophy! Even though old school gamers don't need a reason to pick up this title and play all over again, it's a fun little bonus.
There is now a hintbook in game that acts as a "checklist" for all the goals that need to be accomplished and all the items that need to be collected. A mini map feature has also been added that can be turned on or off at anytime. All of these additions make the game a little better in my opinion, as I remember getting "lost" at certain points in the original. So the issue of "where do I need to backtrack to?" isn't present.
The camera flows much more smoothly now and doesn't get "stuck" against certain objects. The overall controls have been improved and don't feel as clunky as they did on the original. Jumping and gliding to different areas to collect that one last chest or gem isn't as trial and error as it used to be.
The graphics are very beautiful and fluid. This really impressed me during the first few minute of playing the game. There are now more detailed versions of the dragons that you set free. For instance in the opening artisan level, one dragon holds a lute and wears a renaissance hat while another has a paintbrush while sporting an apron.
Now unfortunately comes the negative and why I need to dock two stars. This isn't the fault of the game itself, but rather the publisher. The Spyro trilogy release date was pushed further back only to put "some of the levels" of 2 and 3 on disc. The rest must be downloaded online. There is no excuse for this. I would have waited a year to get ALL of the content from ALL three games on disc.
This was a very lazy, half-truth deception. I do not pay for digital ghost copies of games. That has zero trade in value. I am not a millennial and am not going to start throwing down money for a game that I will not really own. When the PS4 is dead and the PS5 is out, I'll just no longer be able to play the remake of Spyro 2 and 3 as it's not on disc and no longer available online? After all Sony has offered up so many digital PS2 titles on PS4.I will not support this practice and encourage companies to continue this type of greed.
This could have been prevented and easily made into a five star game as having all three Spyro remakes on one disc would have been amazing. If something is going to take up 55GB of my space the full game should be on the disc. Crash didn't get this kind of treatment, neither should Spyro.

I loved this game growing up as a kid. When I first bought the PS4 I was a little disappointed it didn't have some of the old games I use to play. Well when I saw that Xbox had this game i quickly looked up to see if PS4 did. And was excited to find out that they did have it. I immediately bought it. I enjoy playing it just as much as I did when I was a kid, if not more. Graphics are great as well. It's definitely something I can sit and play for hours. I definitely recommend the game.

Near perfect remake (not remaster) of the original games. Quite enjoyed the old school gameplay with revitalized graphics. The ONLY downside of this collection is the vomit-inducing motion blur when turning the camera BUT, now we have an option to toggle motion blur on/off thanks to the latest patch on consoles. Recommended!

I have fond memories of playing this game when I was younger so I was excited to play the updated version. So far I've only gotten a chance to jump into Spyro 2, but the experience has been great! It's nice to be able to run around levels and actually make out all the little details that were out of focus before. The game itself is still enjoyable. It's so relaxing just to run around and collect gems, trying to get 100% each level.
The only negative is the 19 gig download that is required when you purchase the physical copy of the game. I bought the disc to avoid the large downloads! With my internet speed, it took all day to finish.

Great remake of the trilogy. Along with Crash Bandicoot and a few other remasters, this sets the standard for how remakes from the PS1 era should be. It looks amazing and yet looks like how you remember it back in the day. I recommend this for platform game fans as well as playstation fans! It is great for new younger gamers too! It looks and plays great!

Toys for Bob has masterfully captured and given new life to everything that made the original Spyro games great. It fully lives up to the nostalgic memories of the PS1 games and would be a fantastic purchase for anyone who played Spyro as a kid and wants to experience that fun again, and/or pass it along to their own children. If you suspect someone you know might enjoy the game, they almost certainly will; a surefire gifting success.

If you loved the Spyro series back on the PS and PS2, then this is definitely worth getting. I'm not sure if they actually made it harder or I'm just that rusty at playing lol. Since it's been so long since I played I'm not sure if they upgraded any of the graphics or anything, but it's fun to earn trophies and relearn where all the hidden treasure and skill points are.

Spyro was by far my favorite game series as a kid, right next to Pokemon. This complete remake is beyond beautiful and nearly perfect in every way. My only complaint is the difficulty of some of the platforming sequences and flight levels, but this is staying true to the originals. I absolutely adore the Reignited Trilogy and would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves platformers, adventure games, and dragons.

Without a doubt, Spyro was the best platformer of 2018. I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the original trilogy again and was honestly a bit sad when I finished 100% all 3 games.
Overall, they did a great job remaking them! Visually, I was a bit stunned to see how great they looked when I first turned it on but it didn't get 5 stars from me because there were bugs when I played through.
Sometimes gems were missing levels, there were random frame drops (I'm on PS4 Pro, shouldn't happen), and the further I got into the trilogy, the worst/more frequent the bugs were.
I think they've patched the game since then but that was the only thing holding it back imo. It's probably perfect now!
Really looking forward to the next Spyro game

My childhood

This game was my childhood! The graphics and style, is really detailed funny jokes, fun colors very colorful and enjoyable! The 'small' things that this game deprives, is that some areas have these little invisible cubes that got in the way. One example, in the level in Peace keepers. A small edge near the under ground tunnel...Had a very weird spot, that's not a proper wall, should not of been there.
The lip syncing with each character is spot on! It wasn't too slow or out of time. The only other problem with it was the trials-I felt like the counter counted down a bit too quick-How i put it...I thought of it to be 'rushed' and the controls were not easy to change direction. But the challenges were still doable.
On the Playstation 2, with the skate boarding levels, i didn't think we had any skateboard tutorials on how to do tricks. I think automatically, you'll figure out how to do that, but since they changed it i guess, it is something refreshing. It is what it is, i still liked it. I think that some places were a bit 'unfinished' and tricky to pull off.
-But the main story was really good! Loved every cutscenes-The characters looked unique for each design. Refreshing look. The design of Ripto looked so much better! I defiantly recommend people to play this fun and enjoyable game!

It was either Spyro or Crash Bandicoot back in the day, and I was the Spyro fan among Crash fans. This update is fantastic, and doesn't change much in terms of gameplay from the originals. However, the updated look gives the games a refreshingly modern look, perfect for tricking younger gamers into playing a 20 year old series, in a good way!

It's new and the graphics are great with the same fantastic game of my childhood. Love, Love, love this remake. This is really a fantastic remake.
The loading times are a little long and having to download the other two games, but that isn't too much of a big deal.
I definitely recommend this game to all who have previously played and new comers to enjoy!

When this game was originally released for the original PlayStation I only ever got to play the demo that was on a PlayStation Underground disk, but I loved it. So when I found out that Spyro was getting a remaster I was ecstatic and wasn't going to pass it up. The game looks great and plays just like I remember. This is a must have for any fan of Spyro.

What can I say? If you liked the original PlayStation 1 game you'll like this remaster. The graphics are beautiful, the voiceovers have been redone and the gameplay is fun and has high replay value. I never finished the original PlayStation games but got pretty far on this. I give it a 5⭐ rating all the way. Oh and it looks phenomenal on a 4K TV.

The original, and best three spyro games remade for PS4. Wonderfully vibrant new visuals breathe new life into familiar levels that I had played through in my youth, all paired with a remastered soundtrack by the original composer. A remaster done right! I eagerly played through all three games, and obtained their platinum trophies to boot!
If I had a complaint, it would be that the loading times can be a little long (~20 seconds for entering a level) and this game doesn't offer much of a challenge to veteran gamers beyond the odd difficulty spike here and there, but overall I'd recommend it to anyone.

This remastered collection of three of the best games ever made is so well done and it was a ton of fun returning to these games after all these years. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is even better than the originals (with some of the annoyances fixed) and the games are just excellent overall.

Its a great remake over the originals. same exact game but remade with hd graphics and the gameplay is great but for one flaw. it slows down in spots. it does it on the ps4 pro and xbox one x along with the xbox ones and normal ps4.. other than that one issue its a very enjoyable game
