Customers consistently note the impressive graphics and enjoyable multiplayer experience as major strengths of Star Wars Battlefront. However, a lack of content, particularly a single-player campaign and limited maps, are frequently cited as drawbacks. Some also express concerns about the value for the price and the variety of weapons available. The game's sound design and ease of use also receive positive feedback.

This was my very first Star Wars video game. I'm usually an avid Halo/GoW/COD FPS gamer, but my friends talked me into trying this game. All I can say is: WOW!!! Love the graphics, the atmosphere, the diversity of environments, all the many different game modes, the versatility of partying up with your friends in huge (or one on one) game matches! Very well put together game, very easy to learn for a newbie to the franchise, and, most importantly: SO MUCH FUN!!! In other games (like Halo) I find myself playing match after endless match trying my best to reach that top-level rank! In this game, Star Wars Battlefront, I find myself having so much fun that I forget to pay attention to my leveling up! *haha* It's the perfect way to unwind after a long day! Especially playing the "aircraft only" mode. Dog-fighting with imperials and rebel X-Wings FOR THE WIN!!! ----- 5 Stars all the way!!!

Walker Assault. That's one of 9 game modes Battlefront comes with, but it's the only one you need to know. Upon entering, you assume the role of one of 20 stormtrooper or 20 rebel (40 players total) during an Imperial assault against a rebel base, where the Empire attempt to disrupt a homing signal for Y-Wing bombers to strike at a slowly impending AT-AT walker. Icons such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, Han Solo, and Princess Leia will a player controlling them from time to time --- if they can get to the power up token before a teammate beats them. This mode has 4 large maps including the forest moon of Endor, the desert of Tatooine, the icy Hoth, and the charred Sullust.
Of the other 8 game modes to play, there's another 40 player variant called Supremacy that involves the two factions battling over 5 control points and pushing the enemy back farther into their base. The other modes are hit and miss, including a CTF, Domination, Hero vs Hero, an all aerial Fighter Squadron dogfighting mode, and others. They're hit and miss, but the variety is appreciated. There's hardly any single-player content beyond some tutorial-esque missions, which can be played split-screen with a friend.
Matchmaking is essentially instantaneous. The menus are straight forward enough, and the game isn't designed to keep you scrolling through too many options. There are about 10 weapons to choose from, a couple dozen power-ups to slowly unlock, and you choose one of the former and up to three of the latter.
The game's visual audio presentation is top notch, with a silky smooth 60fps framerate without ever a noticeable dip. The forest moon of Endor is just breathtaking, day or night, with trees collapsing around you from AT-ST chicken walker blaster fire or thermal detonator explosions, foliage swaying in the wind, and indigenous life scattering or flying away upon approach.
The game could use more maps, and one (or a set of them) is coming soon with a free Jakku expansion releasing soon. I hope they release some more updates in addition to it, otherwise the $50 season pass will be where you have to go for more content if Walker Assault on 4/5 maps isn't enough.

So I am a huge fan of battlefront. This game sounds and looks amazing so in that aspect it gets a 5. Probably one of the best looking games this generation so far. Gameplay handles really well as well. Controls for fighting and flying are done really well. Content is kind of lacking though. This is pure EA issue. You purchase a $60 game but if you want full experience you have to buy season pass. Also, I am extremely upset about the Deluxe Edition. It turns out that the Battle of Jakku map is going to be a free map for everyone no matter what edition you get. That is not really clear. All you get with deluxe edition is the ability to play Battle of Jakku a week before everyone else and some rather useless DLC items. Save yourself the extra $10 because there is nothing worth getting in the Deluxe Edition. Overall, the game is a good average game. Given everything else that has come out and will come out though, I don't see battlefront being relevant for very long.

This is a great game that captures all the feel of Star Wars. It looks incredible, and the sound completely immerses you in the experience. The only bad part about this game is the lack of content at launch.

The game is great because it plays smoothly, looks beautiful and is just a great experience if you're a Star Wars fan. The downside is it lacks the content needed to keep me hooked for a long time. I guess EA has a reason for doing this such as giving TOO much content at release where players feel overloaded or because it is not in their best interest as a company due to profits. It does not have any Prequel content nor does it have space battles. :( Hopefully future DLC will bring good news. Still great job on DICE's part for making such a game. They are the developers not the publishers. Artists not businessmen.

The game is good. plain and simple. playing as a jedi, or boba fett is fun, like really fun. Only downside is that Clone Wars isn't included in this battlefront. Also DO NOT GET THE DELUXE EDITION!!! NOT WORTH IT! All the stuff included in this is unlock-able. You just get the guns and equipment earlier. They are not worth it. The map Jakku well, its not out yet, but the deluxe edition is basically just the map and a different cover. AGAIN DO NOT BUY THE DELUXE WASTER OF 10 BUCKS!!! REGULAR EDITION IS BETTER TO BUY

I think this is a very good game, it's basically the star wars version of battlefield. I always preferred COD over battlefield but I prefer this online over COD. I like that you can play as some of the iconic star wars characters, darth vader is my favorite. I didn't give it 5 stars because I didn't know it didn't have a campaign mode. I don't think it's worth $60 without one. If it was $40 or less I would give it 5 stars. Otherwise it's a great fun game if you like online multiplayer.

If you are a star wars and a shooter fan this is the game for you. Every single piece of this game is authentic star wars. every sound site and explosion will make you feel immersed in the galaxy far, far away. There are 9 online game modes, training missions, a survival mode, and splitscreen battles. This gsme is pretty packed and more free maps are on the way soon. Any battlefield veteran can see the similarities between this and battlefeild but will also instantly see what is new unique and fun about this game. Every starwars fan owes it to them self to try this game

I've loved the Battlefield series since I first played Battlefield 3 on PS3. The DICE continues to bring fun gameplay to the table with their latest release of Star Wars Battlefront. As a kid, I loved the original Battlefront 1 & 2 on PS2, and I can see this game rising up the ranks as one of my favorite games.
The game itself is beautiful and there is so much attention to detail concerning the graphics, I have little to no complaints about that.
There are several different game modes, with Walker Assault being the most fun mode that encapsulates much of the combat of the original Star Wars trilogy.
There isn't a dedicated career mode, but there are single player missions, as well as a wave-by-wave survival mode you can play solo, co-op, or online co-op.
Overall, the game is visually appealing, fast-paced, controlled, and innovative. However, the one problem I found was that some of the menus, concerning the layout and text, seem a little childish and less professional compared to other FPS's. But then I remembered that Disney owns Star Wars now, and I gave them a little leeway.

This game is exactly what I've been looking for since playing star wars on Atari back in the 80's. The battles against the imperial walkers, storm trooper costumes, sounds, graphics, and overall gameplay make you feel like you are in the movie. The online multiplayer is awesome! 9 battle modes to choose from, and duke it out against opposing forces.
Highly recommended!

This game is a lot of fun but you need to be a Playstation plus member and be able to connect to the internet. It makes the game much more enjoyable....and enables you to try all the missions and challenges. If you can't connect to the internet....don't get me wrong, the game is still a lot of fun, but you get limited to what you can do and eventually you'll stop playing it because you are only allowed to do so much. It would have been better if they came out with a campaign mission for those who enjoy single player (1st person) shooter games....hopefully in their next edition they will do this, but all in all I would still recommend this but just weigh all your pros and cons of how YOU like to play PS4.

If you are Star Wars fan, then this game will make you smile. They spent so much time creating a movie like experience. Playing it in 3rd person is better in my opinion. It plays nothing like other DICE games. It is a shooter but it's meant to emulate Star Wars. There is no ammo since blasters never ran out in the movie. There are a ton of little nods to the movies if you pay attention. DICE really wanted to respect the license and do it justice. They did it. Graphically, it looks amazing. The sound is outstanding. No matter what's happening around you, you always feel like you are in the movie. They will balance out some small issues eventually, but I just have playing it. I can't recommend it enough for Star Wars fans, and anyone else. Just remember, it's not a typical shooter. Don't compare it Battlefield or Call of Duty. It's not meant to be like them, it's meant to be like the Star Wars movies. The good one.

This is an awesome game! The sound effects and graphics are some of the best thus far on next-gen systems. That being said, BE WARNED! If you are expecting this to be Star Wars: Battlefront 3 (sequel to the old PS2 era game) then you're going to be disappointed somewhat. There isn't really any single player (survival maps and battles are the closest thing). It's definitely online multiplayer focused, like a lot of other games these days (personally not a fan, but oh well). That being said though, it is still fantastic. Fighter squadron is a lot of fun and the boots-on-the-ground maps are great too. Highly recommend! Hopefully they will come out with some good updates/DLC's as well.

I loved the classic battlefront 2 from back when it came out on the PS2. I had high expectations for this title and simply the lack of content that it has is off putting to begin with. Plus having to pay an additional 50 dollars for future content that I nothing about is straight up disloyal to people that love the franchise, like myself. No campaign, the games aren't massive as far as how many players are in a match. So much potential to reintroduce and revamp the franshice and it's become a money grabbing and low content game.

I was glad to get the deluxe. It came with a few extra items that you can unlock later in the game. Some of them like Han Solo's gun would take a while to unlock so it was fun to start using them. The ion grenade is helpful in destroying certain vehicles. We have other games but this is by far our favorite. I wish it had more offline options, but the multiplayer online games are really amazing. Great graphics. I wish the online games allowed us to co-partner play split screen in the same room. They are all mission oriented rather than story based which we liked too. We can play and not have to feel like we have to beat a level before we can move on.

The game looks great, and feels great. The game has fantastic graphics. The game feels truly like you're battling on the front lines as either the imperial, or rebel soldiers. There are many different game modes and what not on the online multiplayer modes. However as far as single player, and split screen modes go, there is not too much content. All in all, it's a pretty good game, and if you really look into it you'll see whether you want to invest in it or not.

If your someone who is familiar with the Battlefield and COD series, you will notice that this FPS shooter pales in comparison to customization and complexity. However, you still have plenty to choose from to fine tune your character to your play style. It is a game that really brings out the core elements of a FPS experience - teamwork. In a 20x20 battle, no single player can turn the tide of battle on his own.
The graphics are fantastic, and the sounds of battle keep you locked in.
If you're not a Star Wars fan however, you will find a hard time appreciating everything this has to offer.

Why did I give this game 3 stars instead of 5? Simply because after spending $70 I expected more. There's no campaign/story mode, the game lacks structure. If you mainly play online, this game is right up your alley.
The multiplayer experience paired with numerous events to choose from makes this an online gamers dream come true. Also, the graphics are phenomenal.

This game is actually pretty good. The graphics and sound(aside from the hero voice acting) are amazing! If I was to rate the game just on those 2 things it would be a 5/5. But the developers were trying to cater to the casual gamer and also failed to include a few things that made star wars battlefront 2 a great game. I'm sure they will make another game and hopefully they try to incorporate the things from battlefield and the old battlefront.
