The movie looks really good in 4K but I just wish Disney would rerelease the original 1977 copy of the movie instead of the cgi messed with 2011 Blu-ray version

I purchased this star wars steelbook along with others for my husband. He loves the stories alone and the covers are just a plus.

What more can I say about Star Wars. It's an absolute must see for everybody. It's my favorite movie and I love it so much.

If you love Star Wars, pre-disney Star Wars that is, then you already know this is probably the best Star Wars movie ever made. What's better is that it's on 4K. So put this in your 4K Bluray player thats connected to your AVR or 4K TV and enjoy the beauty of this movie in 4K!

Who wouldnt get this steelbook if your a fan its a must only down side is with they offered bonus dvd or more options

Had to buy this as it's a new release of star wars. Very confused as the disk is hdr10 only while the digital is dolby vision. After watching the disk is far superior to the digital version as well as the similiar disney plus version. Makes me question the dolby vision legitimacy of those digital transfers. Enough complaining about the trivial. Looks great and the uncompressed atmos sound is amazing. Maybe the only downside is it looks too good. I mean when I watched this in 1979 or when the special edition came out theater project was dark, film prints worn in, sound stereo and maybe basic surround. So watching these today feels like watching a completely new version of the film. (It sacrifices that nostalgic feel for us 40 somethings who lived through the original theatrical runs)

What can you say about Star Wars that folks haven't already said? I still remember going with my friend to see it for the very first time in the movie theater, back in the 70's. I still get a thrill watching Han Solo, he's my guy. I am happy to have this on Blu-ray and 4 k.

No, you can't beat the original. Episode five and six were also great, but those of us who experienced "A New Hope" in the theatre in 1977 will never forget it's impact on culture. This 4K version is beautiful, although I wish Lucas hadn't added some of the sfx and additional scenes he did. It's best not to tamper with art, George. Rarely can art be improved on by adding more to the painting. That's the reason for only 4 stars.

It is by no surprise that this movie, which is the beginning of the series and that attracted so many fans over time since it's release. This movie clearly received a lot of work and it shows in the picture quality. Crisp with minimum noise grain. This version is worth upgrading to 4k.

This has never looked better. The 4K remaster is the most accurate presentation to date. Gone are the oversaturated tones and odd majenta color cast. Color is rich and natural, and the detail is outstanding. It feels like watching real Star Wars again.

This classic movie made me fall in love with the Star Wars universe!! From Chewbacca and Han Solo to C3Po and R2D2. Even though this movie is the 4th installment in the series, it still feels like the true origin story of the series. This is definitely a must buy!!

A must have for any Star Wars fan. If you are new to the series this is the fourth in the whole story.

The picture is almost too clear, it appears as though they have enhanced the digital effects and modeling...

I grew up with this – I was in my teens when this came out and went to see it in theater with my family. Video cassette players were not even affordable then, but when it came out, I saved money, little that I was making as a teenager, to buy this movie on a VHS. I later had the opportunity to buy the DVD version, and now the Blu-ray version came out, I am very happy to own it. The price is very reasonable – nowadays it costs a lot of money to go to a movie theater, and I prefer to stay home and watch a good movie on my 65 inch 4K television. I don't particularly care for the "experience" of watching a movie with others in the theater when I realized that for the same price, I can own the Blu-ray copy of it and watch it again at home. It looks fantastic on the Blu-ray up convert 4K player, and it sounds great, as well. Now that I am older, I realize that the acting is a bit corny (other than the legendaries Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing), but it didn't win an Oscar for acting and I believe it wasn't created for such a thing. "Extras" were added, and the true fans of Star Wars had a fit over that – it doesn't bother me that much. I do like the Steelcase and I am happy to have added this movie to my collection. Thank you Best Buy for keeping the price reasonable.

I'm a Star Wars Fanatic from the Original Trilogy. The movie was the one that started it all. My 2nd favourite of SW movies. New restoration is gorgeous. It was fun. Disc Quality of Movie is top notch and at a Black Friday price of $14.99 How can you go wrong?

Live for this Steelbook this is an awesome and also the design of the helmet is nostalgic. Darth Vader!!! Yay

What can I say, this is a Classic especially if you're a Star Wars fan. I major plot twist in this episode.

Even though it's the special edition and not the original theatrical release, it's great to own this on 4K. Just happy to get all the Star Wars films in 4K. Has most of the extras and features we've seen before.

Bought this during Black Friday deals at a great price. Shipping was slightly delayed, but still arrived quickly. Haven’t watched the disc yet, but everything looks to be in good condition. Even included the slipcover. It’s a shame it only includes the newer altered version of A New Hope. Would be nice if it had the original theatrical version - at least on blu-ray. I’ve read the 4k transfer could be better, but still an improvement over the blu-ray. I do like the package artwork.
