Got this for my boyfriend he was very excited and was watching them all week.

I saw Star Wars- A New Hope when it came out in 1977 and I was taken in like most people. I had to see Empire Strikes Back and also Return of the Jedi. I'm pretty sure I saw Episode 1, 2 and 3 when they came out. I've seen The Force Awakens and Rogue One and will most likely see the latest one coming out in a little over a week. When the first 6 movies came out on blu-ray I thought it was too expensive and waited. Well they just went on sale this past Cyber Monday for a price I thought was too good to pass up, so I bought them. I had gotten rid of my old VHS tapes of these movies several years ago and it's been awhile since I've watched them. I decided to watch them in order starting with episode 1. As I watched it, I thought to myself "I don't recall this...or that...or this..." the same was true with episode 2 and 3. I came to the conclusion that maybe I hadn't ever seen 2 or 3. Then came episode 4. ... all of a sudden I realized I wasn't watching the original, but the Special Edition with several changes and additions I had never seen and several things that were now missing!! The movies also didn't "flow" together. Things people referred to in 4, 5 and 6 made no sense, they didn't recall the things they should have known from the first 3 or they knew things they shouldn't have known. The end of 6 with the Ewoks was different too. The music was different and other star systems were included in celebrations when it technically was too early to do so. Spoiler Alert: with the Emperor and Darth defeated, the governors who were given direct control in episode 4 wouldn't have simply scurried away. They would still have been in control for at least a few weeks. The whole of it is that George Lucas has destroyed his movies with these Special Editions. I was no longer finding 4, 5 and 6 as must-see movies, they're now quite boring.
