The movies are great. What I'm reviewing is the package. First off I bought this at Best Buy but, on the way home I noticed it had s Walmart sticker. It didn't bother me much but since It was a VERY expensive movie, when I opened it I was very upset that the case that holds the bluray were broken off. So in short great movie, awful packaging.

They are NOT the next Vader and Luke. Not by any stretch. IMO, this film overall is much better than TLJ but the characters are just too out of wack for me.

My 1-star rating is solely based on the collector's edition steelbook packaging, not the movie itself. I ordered this twice. First order was online for in store pick up. Initial order was cancelled by BB for lack of inventory (after receiving confirmation email), but I was able to secure another copy at a store a little further away from home. Inconvenient, but worth the sale price. Upon getting home and removing the shrinkwrap, I noticed numerous dings and dents in the steelbook. After consulting in store reps and unable to find a copy in store (inventory said limited), I reordered over the phone (40+ minute process between initial 20 minute hold and then resolution with phone rep) for ship to home delivery, and ran into the same issue with dents and dings on the replacement. It wouldn't be a huge deal except the ONLY reason I bought this was for the steelbook packaging. I already owned Ep 7 digitally on iTunes. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle to try for a third time or to return completely, as I bought the item on sale for $10. However, sale or not, for "Best Buy exclusive collector's edition packaging," this leaves me extremely disappointed. I would not recommend to anyone who might be buying as a collector's item unless you're able to sift through multiple copies in store to find a non-damaged one.

I have been a Star wars fan for some time but overall the movie really disappointed me. It was certainly filled with all the things we like lightsabers and such, but so many things made almost no sense at all that it was actually painful to watch. I don't want to give away any part of the movie but if you have a planet to defend from 10 X-wings but a hanger with 50 tie fighters why do you only send 10 to defend.. It is worth watching if a friend invites you over who owns it but I wish I could have my money back. I bought it because I thought I would watch it again and again but I could barely finish it with all the script errors and things that simply made no sense at all. I really hope that the next movie is better but I'm sure they will find a way to ruin it.

No vision, no villain, no acting, no script, no imagination, no 'Star Wars' wisdom, no music. In a word - NO-Movie. There are movies that you watch and you forget about them on the next day. This is not the case. This movie you forget in the next hour and you never want to remember about it. And what is even worse I don't think that they can turn the game in the sequels with this casting. The only good things in the movie were BB-8 and that it finished. If they rename it to "Teenage Star Wars" than it could make scene. And let someone that really cares to make the Start Wars move that each generation deserve. Never, ever have seen such a misleading rating.

seriously??what were they thinking??? all this was recycled material from the original movies! i am not a bug star wars fan but i know movies! and as soon as this movie took off i already knew it was like the old ones. they have run out of creativity for this franchise....this franchise is literally dead if they dont come out with something new. and well guess what?? an new trilogy had already been announced a while back for the year 2021. lets see what kind of garbage theyre going to give people now

The movie was amazing the packaging was not so amazing, I preordered online for store pick up, but when I got home and removed the wrapper big dent into the metal casing and I would have refused it if it wasn't for the large Best Buy sticker covering up the area that was dented, so the gimmicky Steelbook I wanted was damaged before I even got to crack open the case. I would recommend getting the regular version of the film unless you know you got a good steelbook case worth getting, because I can't return the copy I got.

This item is only the digital copy of the movie and like 3 mini movie posters that allowed you to download the digital copy a couple days earlier than the blu ray release. Found out the hard way that unlike most pre-orders this does not count toward your blu ray or dvd copy , so if you were buying the the blu ray/ dvd anyway that already comes with the digital copy its a waste of money.

1. Bought Blue-Ray / HD version: Blue Ray wouldn't start, HD version wouldn't even load. 2. Exchanged two days later, Had to get steel box version (more costly) because regular box copies were sold out. . . Same thing occurred. 3. Two weeks later, Took BR/HD version to Customer Service and asked them to try it on their equipment . . . . . Nothing worked. NOTE: Also went to Target and Costco, same thing, Suggestion: Vendor supplier sent Hawaii copies for another REGION.

I try to like it. I really do. But these past 4 movies have been disappointing again and again. There is so much good you could derive from the concept and yet GLucas never delivers. Think about it, space, an all mystic power, laser battles alien life and in my opinion they never get it all lined up to make a great movie. Great effects great new actors great concept then deliver a movie as great as Gladiator where it all comes together and creates something special.

Have been a Star wars fan since the first film premiered in 1977. The effects, storyline, music, editing were all superb. Fast forward to 2015 and we have The Force Awakens. I wish it had stayed asleep. The plot is disjointed, and the characters superficial (and annoying). It plays more like a TV episode. And what's with the score? This was not up to John Williams normal innovative talent. Do yourself a favor, skip this one.

I read so many good things about this movie so I went ahead and purchased. What a let down. Terrible acting, same ol story rehashed. Not another death star who would have thought. Villain has temper tantrums and tears stuff up, I actually was laughing a lot during his scenes. Ford and Carey were terrible. This series needs to stay in a galaxy far far away. What a hype train. At least I was able to resell on eBay

The standard version of this film was released in April. This version was released in November. All other movies' 2D and 3D versions are ALWAYS released on the SAME DAY. There was nothing in this set that made the extra 7 month wait (and additional $30) worth it. Seems like an obvious money grab by Disney. Super disappointed they would do that to their loyal fanbase.

Compared to the other films in the series, this was the worst. It's even worse than all three of the last released films. It doesn't develop the characters relationships as you would expect or even tie together the plot itself. They need to go back to Lucus and his original concepts and style if they want any kind of future success with additional films.

So many bad things to say about this. I don't even know where to start. Check reviews made by knowledgable Star Wars fans and save some money. If you want a good Star Wars movie, go for Rogue One - that one was excellent. It showed how far short Jar Jar Abrams fell.

This is nothing more than a cheap plastic case and regular version of a star wars film for $15. Not a special case or collector's edition or anything. Just cheap plastic for $15.

The movie is awesome. That's why I bought it. But the Steelbook that it came in that Best Buy put aside for me from my online order was crushed. I didn't see this until I opened it. The crushed part of the book was under the cardboard in the packaging so I didn't notice it upon pickup.

Unfortunately, was not able to watch the movie as the disc gave an error that it could not play because of disc restriction. Disc regions are A, B, and C, so it should play with no issue. So, one star because was not able to enjoy the movie at all.

This new star wars is trash, and I expect the new rouge one to be trash too. Star wars to me is the original 'Lucas' star wars movies. The new generation can have the new ones from Disney and Jar Jar Abrams. BTW, I bought this as a gift.

Princess Leia looks like she is ready for the grave and her son is butt ugly. There is some good eye candy but the rest of the movie is just a waste of time. Too bad George Lucas was not involved with this. He must be just devastated.
