Good movie. My only complaint is with best buy. I purchased 4 movies and 3 had obviously been repackaged. So i wonder if i purchased new or used items.

Wasted opportunity thanks to political agendas

Why JJ Abrams wouldn’t put Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewy in the same scene is a big F U to the fans. Turned Luke Skywalker into a fearful hermit. Not sure why Disney bought the rights to Star Wars and these characters if they hate Luke skywalker so much. This whole sequel shows how much Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abrams just hate the character of Luke Skywalker and killed off the other male famous character. Too much political agenda embedded in this movie. Very obvious.

Had hope for this one, but it disappoints

After suffering through episodes I, II, and III, I was hoping that JJ Abrams would do Episode VII some justice. He did manage to put some life back into the franchise, but in the end all I could think of was, "meh, it's OK". Some of the same ridiculous script writing crept into this release that really annoyed me with episodes I through III. For instance, the battle between the new Order and the rebel base (Episode V anyone?) balanced on a lie by Finn that attacking a random section of the outpost that Rey was taken to would bring down their terrible weapon. And what do you know, it worked. Sigh... It reminds me of Episode I when young Anakin Skywalker somehow knew how to fly a state of the art fighter just by pressing some buttons. Some of the dialogue was weak and seemed contrived at times instead of having that deep rooted story line of the first trilogy in Episodes IV-VI, which I am positive will never be matched. I remember the feeling at the end of each of those episodes that I couldn't wait for the next one to come out. It was a real anticipation of excitement, and I bought and re-watched episodes IV-VI several times to get my fix. What a huge disappointment it was when I-III was released. I remember sitting in the theater watching Episode I, looking at my watch and wondering when the suffering was going to be over. To be fair, The Force Awakens wasn't as bad, but it wasn't that good either.

Oh JJ Abrams, destroying my Star Trek wasn't enough you had to get my Star Wars Too! After all the much-anticipated height of the new Star Wars movie, Jar Jar Abrams gives us Episode IV A New Hope loaded with his irritating trademark lens flares. Do yourself a favor and skip this overhyped chapter in the Star Wars saga that should have been titled episode 7 Death of a franchise. The one proof that the force is still with us is the stand-alone Star Wars film Rogue one that in my opinion is the best Star Wars movie since Empire Strikes Back. I'm not looking forward to the Last Jedi is the trailer left me convinced that this one is just going to be a retooling of Empire Strikes Back. Hopefully the Han Solo standalone will keep the franchise afloat until somebody with some common sense takes the helm

The Force Awakens.... And Put Me To Sleep

I missed seeing The Force Awakens when it was in the theaters, so I was very impatient for the DVD to be released so I could finally see what all the hyp was about. Anemic plot, main characters I couldn't care less about, scenes which were quite obviously simply rewrites of scenes from previous movies.... and the much-ballyhooed appearances of Han Solo, Leia and Luke? Well, I understand why Luke didn't show up until the end, but the interaction between Solo and Leia was anything but natural, and really when it comes right down to it, Leia didn't need to be a part of the story at all. I haven't watched the extras yet because really, I can't bring myself to care. As I said to a friend when I called after the movie was over... at least my dogs and I enjoyed the popcorn.

Well the good news is that the old Star Wars movies are back. The bad news is because they just copied the original and updated it. *** SPOILER ALERT!!! ******* Wait there's nothing to spoil. You've already seen this movie. Once again we have a droid that is on the run from the Empire.... I mean First Order, that has the secret to saving the Universe. Once again the rebels must attack and destroy the Death Star before it powers up and destroys their base. But hey its totally different because the Death Star is bigger this time, right? Lame. This movie is better than the prequel's but that's not saying much.

It was great seeing the return of the original cast. But felt like a cheesy over the top rewrite of the original film. Abrams went to an even more extreme duplicating characters into new. Rogue One will atleast be saved from the clutches of Abrams who has not a single thought of originality tucked in with all the ego. I was greatly disappointed with this film. Why Han Solo... and to make his son even worse than Anakin. Another mindless film for the limited attention span youth. Don't waste your time watching this.

Sorry, but I like the original three movies from the 70's and 80's the best. SPOILER ALERT, STOP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE.... I am very angry that Han Solo was killed at the end of the movie. Absolutely Stupid! Also the fact the Luke Sky-Walker was not even in the movie until the end, and it was a stupid 5 seconds you see him was very disappointing. Time has not been nice to Leah!!!! They should have killed her. Her acting was terrible! The best actor was Han Solo, and they should have kept him!!!!

There are two kinds of Star Wars fans.......The ones who only watch the movies and the rest of us who read and watch everything we can get our hands on. This review is for the latter. The second I saw that shadow cross the screen I knew I was in for a disappointing time. This movie had so much potential but Disney and JJ Abrams threw out everything written and planned for the SW universe over the last 30 years. This movie was nothing but a rehash of episodes 4, 5, and 6. Very predictable and I'm still mad.

I was expecting so much more! I LOVE Star Wars and was told this was a great film. I did not think so. Super simple, transparent plot, no surprises, other than the death of....... The acting was not that great, to be honest. Just not a very well-made film, in my opinion. LOVED seeing Han and Chewie and Luke and Leah...love seeing the Millennium Falcon back in action, but did not like the new characters, at all. Which kind of messes it up right from the start. I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

    Force Awakens 3D Double Dip

First let me start off by saying that I'm not a fan of this film, but I am a huge Star Wars nut. By releasing this 3D version so late, it forces fans to "double dip" by making us buy the film twice. I wanted this version from the start. I wouldn't even have purchased this copy if it weren't on sale AND I had a Best Buy coupon for $10.00 off. Love 3D but did not love this movie.

I'm a Starwars fan through and through but I vehemently didn't like this installment at all! I felt like it was rushed and it was all over the place. And to make matters worse they kill off one of the stars who made the franchise gel in the first place. I hope Disney knows what their doing since their changing cannon and adding these that weren't cannon.

I did not watch this in theaters because I knew I would be underwhelmed. While I am pleased to own this on disc, i would much rather watch any of the previous movies before this one. For me the story just did not flow well and Han's fate completely ruins the series for me. Also, the movie just didn't give me any reason to care about any of the new characters.

I'm a Huge Star Wars fan, but I was very disappointment with this new Star Wars movie. I thought it was ok at best. It actually felt like a remake of Star Wars New Hope movie. I know a lot of people out there didn't like the Prequel movies, but I thought they were way better than The Force Awakens. I just hope the next one is a lot better!

Mainly got this movie because I have all other 6 episodes. And as of now, only Star Wars movie released on 3D. To me, this isn't a new story, it's a clone (pun intended) of A New Hope. If someone hadn't seen the original, this one would be decent. Quite honestly I thought Rogue One was way better.

I recieved the steelcase collector Force Awakens Blu-ray and it was completely dented....not much of a collector anymore. Pic is attached. I would like an exchange, but the nearest Best Buy is 60 miles away. Movie is great, and the disks inside were ok. Someone was seriously unhappy with Kylo Ren though.

I bought this even though I saw it in theaters and feel this one does not hold a candle to the original 3 movies released in the 70's and 80's I actually feel episode 1 was better than this even with Jar Jar even. I am worried about the future of Star Wars under the control of Disney.

With all the hype on this movie I thought it would be great... This was not exciting or even remotely at the same level as previously filmed star wars movies. Very bad movie... If the same director is doing the next two movies I will not purchase or even watch...
