    Damaged bluray discs

The films are exactly what I expected them to be. Having bluray, dvd and digital rights to the 3 films is great versatility. However, I've now watched 2 blurays out of the new container, and during the films, the showing stops, stutters, pauses, loses audio, and by the time it 'catches up' I've lost important scenes in the film. It wouldn't be intolerable except for the fact that rewinding back to the beginning of the chapter doesn't seem to fix the problem. I've watched at least 10 other blurays on the same player and never had a problem until with these discs. I'll be reporting this to Best Buy for a disc replacement. But the physical media should have been QA'd prior to shipping to avoid this mess to begin with.

These should be included for free when you buy the original 3 on DVD/BluRay - because face it, these movies are terrible. Now you can relieve all the terrible dialog and contrived plot of the prequels in the privacy of your own home in ultra high definition BluRay glory. But you know it is kind of like the Matrix. You've got to have all 3 to have the complete set, even if the last two movies destroy the 1st. Same thing goes here, you've got to have the prequels. I look at it this way, watching these makes you really appreciate how incredible the original trilogy was. It is kind of like having a freezer burned hamburger patty so you can enjoy a real choice cut of steak, later.

It took me until the year 2015 to finally watch this much maligned Star Wars prequel trilogy. Although I heard the horror stories of these three films, I thought it necessary to watch them before the box office behemoth which is Episode 7. I am not a Star Wars devotee, but to be complete these films had to be watched. Episode 1 is alright as a set up film...somewhat childish (Jar Jar Binks). Episode 2 seems better but has a terribly fake CGI look throughout the film. Episode 3 is the strongest of the set with good action sequences and a great summation of how a key character in the universe of Star Wars was created. Not the greatest films...but definitely worth watching.

What can I say? It's the prequels

I bought this as a gift for my nephew. He was born in the age where the un-doctored original trilogy was a distant memory, and the prequels are a required part of any child's Star Wars viewing. At least the movies improve slightly from episodes I to III, and III has especially become better with subsequent viewings. At the very least, the episode I end duel and Yoda bad-assery in episodes II & III make it tolerable.

This review has nothing to do with Best Buy and the buying experience. Easy and smooth as always. I bought the movies for my daughters. They love Star Wars. I did not review these movies for them. I do not care for this series but i did not want to ruin any experience the girls might have. Episodes IV, V, and VI are, of course the best. The newer movies that have come out are also great. These are, meh, but, you have to see them all. The girls do like this series, not as much as the others, but they like them.

I'm not too much Into Star Wars but for some reason I felt the need to buy the entire series since they are movies any fan must have in their collection. I know the prequels get a bad wrap from the die hard fans, but to me they are harmless enough whether you enjoy them or not. Again no fan needs a review of the Star Wars saga.

Finally went out and got the prequels on blu ray to watch the saga before going to see the star wars 7 in theatre. The only disappointment I have with the product is that it didn't come with a digital copy. It baffles me that the star wars hard copies don't even come with any digital copy like many other movies nowadays. So if you want a digital copy.... you have to choose between buying digital or hardcopy. Otherwise if you got the bucks to spend on both, go for it.

The only real thing to say about these films is that they are a disappointment. Compared to the older films these are so flat and uninspired. It is very clear while watching these movies that George Lucas was out of practice when it comes to directing. He directed "Star Wars: A New Hope" in 1977 and then he did not direct another film until "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" in 1999. That is a 22 year gap! I dont know how he got such bad performances out of all the great actors cast in the film.

I love Star Wars. I was "born and raised" on the original trilogy. Empire Strikes Back is my favorite film in the entire franchise. Like most OG fanboys, the prequel trilogy was a disappointment. While this set is nicely packaged and the movies are well produced, I feel they lack the heart that the original Star Wars movies have.

These movies are awesome (of course) but the discs do not come in mint condition. I had to get a replacement because the with the first set, every single disc blu-ray and DVD had a residue on them. The Phantom Menace actually was skipping during parts of the movie. In this day and age, that should not be happening.

I purchased the Episodes I, II, III just so I could complete my Star Wars collection. No special packaging, nothing special about the presentation. The movies are not very good, but I hadn't seen Episodes II or III, so I wanted to watch them. If you are looking for good movies, these are not the ones. If you're just completing a collection, these will do.

I thought this was going to be a great documentary to watch. I mean the historical significance of proof of life in another galaxy is a huge deal. Or so I thought. Turns out none of it is real!!! George Lucas, you've lost all credit as a documentarian, you should be ashamed of yourself. People spent money on this misleading B.S. Buyer Beware!!

If you remember Star Wars from when you was younger then I'm pretty sure you will feel the same I did after I purchased this set, regret. These movies suck. The set itself is nice and minimalistic. Like advertised you get both the DVD and Blu-ray. I only recommend if you are building a set. 4,5,6 are the way to go. The latest installment of Star Wars leans more on 4,5,6.

Episodes 1 and 3 are watchable and have some genuinely fun moments. Episode 2 is easily the worst Star Wars film ever made. I struggle to stay awake while watching. I would rather listen to a Jar Jar Bink's filibuster in the Senate than watch Ep. 2 again!

    Overpriced, No Digital Copies

I strongly suggest waiting for Disney to re-distribute these movies; it will be truer to the original films and likely include digital copies. The movies are wonderful, as always, but overpriced and do not come with a digital copy redemption code as these were released prior to those copies coming available.

to be honest I was expecting 1-3 to be much worse based on the majority opinion. and compared to the rest of the episodes of course they were bad. episode 1 was unbearable. but since I expected all 3 to be just as bad as 1 ... I gave it an average rating. don't waste your time tho. stick to episodes 4-7

I bought the because I had the sudden and, quite frankly, unnatural urge to watch the prequels. I watched them, and assumed that they'd come with special bonus features. NOPE! Just the DVD versions of the same films! This was on me, and special features are available almost everywhere else.

The blu-rays do not play all the say though. They'll play, go black, then there's nothing but audio. I cleaned my blu-ray player thinking that would fix the issue, but it didn't. The DVDs play well, but it's quite disappointing. I'm not satisfied. I lost the receipt so I did not return them.

These are the prequels so either you like them or you don't. I'm not crazy about them but my kids like them and I need them to complete the collection. They had an amazing sale price so whenever these collections are on sale, that's the time to get them.

This set of 3 only comes with 2 discs for each movie. Only the 6 movie box set comes with 3 discs for each movie. None of the movies or box sets come with a digital copy. The steelbook versions only come with 1 disc.
