Impressive graphics, useless figurines

Haven't gotten too far into the game, but I am enjoying what I have played. The ship controller, figurines, and ship guns are cool I'm sure for younger players. I haven't even connected them to my controller yet as I don't really see the point. Hopefully I will keep playing, finish the game, and it will hold up as I fondly remember playing this series on the SNES.
