Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Standard Actuated Kit AC Dual Band Wi-Fi System's ease of use and quick setup as significant advantages. Positive feedback also highlights strong performance, particularly for streaming and gaming, along with excellent signal strength. However, some customers find the price to be high. While occasional downtime is reported, it appears to be infrequent for most users.

I live on a 5 acre property with no access to utilities other than power and gas. Out of all of the local internet providers, Starlink takes the cake in quality, convenience, and capability. Starlinks network infrastructure is improving every day and with every rocket that Mr.Musk launches my network becomes that much more reliable. I couldn't be happier that I made the switch! 10 out of 10 I highly recommend to anyone without a fiber landline!

Starlink's engineers must have spent time at Apple. They think they are making the installation easy, but instead you find you need to buy a bunch more stuff at high prices. So much for picking this up at Best Buy and just installing it. Best Buy doesn't sell the accessories you will need. Plan on ordering a lot more stuff off the Amazon web site, about $200 more. Unless you want to put the dish on a table in the middle of an open treeless yard about a half acre in size, the mount is useless. You will need to buy a mount that will go high in the air on the facia of the peak of your roof or some other location that can avoid the obstructions you will find you have when using the downloaded smart phone app. This dish doesn't use common universal dish mounts. You will have to buy one specially made for Starlink or be good at fabrication. The cable is pre-terminated to a molded 90 degree USB-C connector with a seal at one end and is factory wired into the antenna at the other end. This cannot be modified or re-terminated, so make sure you have a long enough cable. The kit comes with about 50 feet. If that is too much cable, plan on storing a coil of excess cable somewhere. All other fixed wireless devices use Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable and standard RJ-45 ethernet jacks that are commonly available and easily terminated. You have to cut a 2" diameter hole in the wall of your house to pass the molded 90 degree cable end through. You can buy special grommets to seal the hole around the cable. The necessary accessory does not come with the kit. The included Wi-Fi router does not have an ethernet port, so you can't integrate the system with standard Wi-Fi access points or other wired devices. Again you need to buy an ethernet adapter port accessory that should be standard. Once you overcome all of these issues, assuming you have the technical and mechanical knowledge to do so, Starlink works pretty well. In a very rural area near West Yellowstone I received 100-200 Mbps Download by 20-30 Mbps upload with 30-40 ms latency. The results were pretty consistent. Obviously the more rural you are, the better Starlink works. However, from this rural location, none of the needed accessories were near by and overnight express shipping to that location takes two days minimum and you still have to drive to the local gas station to pick up your shipment. Plan ahead and Good Luck!

I picked up my Starlink 2nd generation from Best Buy. Picking it up was easy, and so was the setup. In 15 minutes I was using it to stream videos no more using the hot spot on my phone.
