Oh my god, is this thing heavy. Luckily my wife is in the industry and as a result, is aware of what "Steelcase" is as far as their products are concerned. If she wasn't, I'm willing to bet that she would've thought there was a *literal* steel case inside the box with that work on the side of it. Even the delivery driver asked what it was. When I told him an office chair, he couldn't believe it. Having said all that, this thing is amazing. So much adjustability, every parameter short of lower legs and neck are supported by a huge range of motion. On top of that, everything feels very nice and high quality. All the knobs, wheels, and sliders have a nice heft to them, not that they are heavy, simply that they aren't flimsy. Things require a little oomph to adjust/move them. To me, that is a sign of a quality product. And that isn't to say certain attributes suffer as a result of this. It isn't like the cushion is too firm, or the arms require too much effort to adjust. When in all actuality it is everything feels like what an amazing office chair *should* feel like. When talking about the Gesture with my wife she even said that "most people have sat in crap chairs for so long that when they sit in a really great one, they think the *great* one has something wrong with it." And I've honestly never really thought about that prior to this. But I can attest to this very thing as the first few times I sat down I thought I needed to fiddle with all of the adjustments to get it exactly how I wanted it. In hindsight while the adjustments certainly helped, it was far more me relying on my experience with other office chairs over the years. Now a full week into using the Gesture and I can't go back to "regular" office chairs. Highly recommended if you are looking for a chair that'll likely last you a lifetime.

The Steelcase Gesture Shell Back Office Chair was a total gamechanger for my home office experience. Previously I was using a standard old high back office chair that I have been using for way too long. The Steelcase is so much more than I would have ever expected! The seat is extremely comfortable even for the long work days I have and that are then followed up with some PC Gaming. I have never had a chair that is so adjustable, there is no way you could sit in this chair and not adjust it perfectly to your body type and preferences. The arms move in multiple directions, and the seat even slides in and out so you get the perfect angle against your back on the backrest! I have never used a chair this comfortable and customizable before, and I just love it! Also when the chair came there was no complicated assembly required which is great! It came in 3 pieces that just snap together! It took be about 5 minutes to totally unbox this chair, get it installed, and moved into my office to start enjoying it. If you are in the market for a top of the line office chair this is definitely a solid choice!

Very sturdy and comfortable. I weigh 350+ lbs and not only does the chair feel sturdy enough to support me, the seat and more importantly arm rests fit. Often arm rests are too narrow and dig into my hips. I've been very happy with everything about this chair

I bought direct from Steelcase, but wanted to leave a review here. The Gesture is a great chair! It has tons of options in the arm rest, which allows you to find that perfect position. Cusions are the perfect firmness and really comfortable. The back rest is flexible, so as you stretch back it moves with you. Really good chair
