Customers consistently note the Aerox 9 Wireless mouse's lightweight design and numerous programmable buttons as significant advantages, frequently praising its responsiveness and long battery life. However, some users experienced issues with the scroll wheel and software, while others found the size or price to be less than ideal. The wireless connection was also a source of some reported problems.

I have been a MMORPG player, my whole entire life I have used just about every optical gaming mouse you could think of after I started using wireless devices I got used to the freedom of the cord! This mouse Takes the cake, first impressions were great with steel series program on windows being easy to update and customize my experience. Battery life was impressive after reaching 100% I only lost 5 % while gaming for 4-5 hours, I did adjust my settings to lower the lighting brightness as you really don’t see the led lights since you are playing games and hand covering the majority of the device. Still had great look as I walked back and forth from the desk! Not to mention the ergonomics of the airy feel with no solid plastic covering on the hands, a bit of a sweaty gamer lol. Great in all sorts of aspects will give this a great review and a must buy for gamers like myself !

I really like this mouse it works really well and the battery lasts forever. It also has this dope feature that when you hand isnt on it it will kinda turn off to save battery. No lag/latency.

SteelSeries Aerox 9 vs Razer Naga Pro

Let me start with saying there are only 2 brand name mice with this number of buttons in a wireless format. Razer Naga Pro and this SteelSeries Aerox 9. I have been using the Razer Naga Pro and while it worked without issues it always felt like cheap plastic. So when the Aerox came out I decided to try it out.
The Aerox feels like it is made with better material and overall I prefer it to the Razer. With that said there are some things you should know if you are trying to decide which mouse to buy. The side buttons on the Aerox are very much more forward than the Razer. This means for the front most buttons this will be a stretch for most users. It took some getting use to but for me I find a way to reach them without issue but it took some getting use to. I will also say that the button layout on the Razer is easier to feel where your thumb is at compared to the Aerox.
With all that said I still prefer the Aerox feel in my hand over the Razer. Also I am using an MSI Raider GE76 laptop so it is nice to have the same brand in my mouse as my laptop RGB components.
The big negative that I have that is making this review 4 stars is that my first Aerox mouse had connection issues. Sometimes when I had been away for a while the mouse would not connect back up and I would have to turn it off and/or remove the receiver dongle and plug it back in. And eventually it got to the point where the mouse never connected. This happened within a couple weeks of getting the mouse so I exchanged it at Best Buy for a new one and will see how this one works. If not for that I would have given it 5 stars as once again for me this mouse just feels better in my hand compared to the Razer.

If you like mmo’s this is by far my favorite mouse I’ve found. Or if you just like having a lot of buttons on the side. It’s also far lighter than most mmo mouse’s.

Ive had this mouse for 6 months, its been pretty good, responsive, steelseries has great software but i have 2 main issues, number one the battery life is nothing special but it does alright and you can still play while it charges. Ive had 0 issues for 6 months actually, until now. Last night I got off went to be zero issues, i come home today and now my scroll wheel just doesnt work, ive tried all their support tricks, uninstalling reinstalling drivers, and software, and restarting pc. Ive done basically every trick except taking the mouse apart. Plus if you do want to take it apart to fix it, you have to rip off the skid pads which are basically unusable if you bend them in anyway and you need glue to get it back on. Overall it was cool while it lasted but for a 150$ mouse to go bad in 6 months, honestly should be giving it less stars.

I thought this would be my final mouse. The one that ticked every box. It has a shape and weight that is great for any game AND ample side buttons to customize any way you'd want for programs like Blender. I'd never seen a mouse like it and I was so hopeful.
Pros
- Lightweight
- The shape is great (think Rival 5 but slightly lower profile and a tiny bit narrower)
- High quality build
- It looks great
- USB-C & battery life
- Steelseries software is easy to use
Cons
- The side buttons require way too much force to actuate. I ended up causing pain in my my ring finger over time while bracing the mouse so I could press the thumb buttons. For comparison, the Razer Naga X side buttons are much easier to press.
- The front 3 side buttons are way out of reach. I have medium/large hands and I had to give up on ever reaching those comfortably.
Conclusion
Go for the Aerox 5 instead. The mouse shape and quality is great, but SteelSeries totally missed the mark on the Aerox 9. The side buttons killed it.

Lightweight, and the open back helps your hand breath. This is a BIG mouse though. I have a big hand and it's a little hard to reach the 2 and 3 buttons due to the angle they are at on the device and how forward they are. I have to hold the mouse at a little bit of an angle compared to how I normally do to comfortably reach all the buttons.

Excellent MMO Mouse, I play a lot of rpgs MMOs, and FPS games the lightweight makes it a great all rounder…my only gripe is that I wish it was a tad shorter as its a little awkward to claw grip in fps but otherwise its a great workhorse

I have owned just about every mmo mouse on the market over the years from logitech, to razer nagas, which have gone way down hill in terms of quality in recent years, to corsair scmitars. This steel series mouse is hands down the best mouse ive ever laid my hands on. The responsiveness and light weight of it is extraordinary amd gives a precision in gaming I've never felt before. Higly recommend for mmo and all gamers in general who like to button map.

Ive had many mice in my years of gaming and PC building. This is my favorite so far. Its sturdy, well-built, visually appealing, super light, and wonderful to use. Ive had Arctis 7 headphones for a number of years now and they are still going. So when I went to replace my keyboard, I got this unit. Will stick to Steel Series products from here out.

Overall great mouse, lightest mouse ive found with mmo buttons on the side, i have very small and uncoordinated hands so the buttons on the side is a must for me when playing games requiring multipke key inputs, only thign the i dont like is how long it is. I ciuld not grt a comfortable grip on it despite how much i tried do to the distance of the furthest back buttons and where id like my hand to rest. I enjoyed all other aspects of the mouse outside of that. Responsiveness was great, the honeycomb feel is very similiar to final mouse ultra lightX. No other comaints truly a great mouse for mmo or other various forms of activity requiring multiple key inputs.

If you are thinking of upgrading your mouse, this is the mouse to get. I wish i had done it sooner. I was using my old Razer mouse and had so many issues with software for Razer products. No issues with Steel Series and my settings carry over from my desktop to my laptop seamlessly with sync on. No setting up the settings over and over and it even works with a dongle using usb or you can use bluetooth.

It’s a okay mouse but sometimes it loses connection while using it. I’m not sure if it’s an occurring problem with this mouse or if it’s just defective. Even using it as a wired connection it still occurs. But having the extra side buttons are amazing I love them! I thought they would’ve been softer to press but other than that it’s a good mouse/ easy to use!

Lasted 1.5 Months, was great until that point.
Scroll Wheel FAILED, After using multiple SteelSeries mice for years I figured I just got unlucky. (Most recent one lasted 4 years of constant use before i dropped it when reorganizing my desk, RIP)
Got a Second mouse and it had the same exact problem not even a month later.
After some online forum hunting it seems pretty common for SteelSeries mice lately to have Encoder issues with mouse wheels(more specifically, the Aerox line).
If it wasn't for the bad encoder that these come with then I'd say this is my favorite SteelSeries mouse to date.
The Weight(for 12 side buttons is great) and the
Mesh top(has skeptical but wow i can't go back, sweaty hands begone) have both been a pleasant suprise.
Design wise I really cannot complain about it, its incredible.
Get the warranty if you want this thing.

I have had this mouse for a month and so far so good. It is incredible light and it has a fast response time wirelessly as well as wired. I have used it for things as little as playing on the web and as much as playing MMORPGs and it has never let me down. The programmable buttons make using macros and commands a snap and I couldn't really ask for a better mouse for the things I do with it.

This is a great and solid mouse for MMO play, works straight out of the box with little user configuration. I was already a fan of the Aerox 3 2022 version and this further expands on the strengths of that design. I originally bought this as a backup mouse to accompany my Corsair M65 Elite but I’m finding myself using this one more often. Just feels good.
