I’m the type of person who does his research on products. This was not my first choice. In fact I though it to be overpriced. I went with a high end Corsair board that was higher in price but offered a sale at the time. It was a disappointing few days. The Corsair board was what I would call adequate but for the price was a failure. It was loud and clunky to me. The wrest was ok but slid away from the keyboard and didn’t stay attached well. After looking at several and thinking that I had just tried the best I was resigned to just grab a $20 Logitech that would meet enough of my needs and not break the bank. When going through the return and reason why I was returning an associate mentioned Steel Series. I had some points and thought I’d play the lottery when I first said, “Ah ok.” I love this thing. It’s a tank of a keyboard, the wrist wrest attaches solidly with powerful magnets, and the keys are not overly noisy and easy to hit. It has “bling” but an amazing functionality that I love. It has heft and even though it is more expensive it’s worth every penny.

I would recommend this keyboard. I have been using this keyboard for almost 2 years now. This keyboard is very good for the price that you pay, you get a very durable keyboard with a wrist rest, num pad, and a small programable screen on the top right. The only thing that I have found an issue with is that it seems to need some new keycaps, but the keyboard itself is perfect and still works.

I really like this keyboard. Previously had a logitech g413 carbon, and loved the feel of it. This one feels better. The red switches have very little friction up and down, only spring resistance. I like the oled for displaying my system stats. The reason this doesn't get 5 stars from me is the software. Its just not polished. Setting up color profiles takes some getting used to. Also my oled stopped displaying stats and it was quite a process to fix. I had to upload all my profiles to the steelseries cloud, Uninstall their software, reinstall the software, uninstall the drivers, plug back in, and pull my profiles back down from the cloud. Even then I ended up with a bunch of duplicate profiles. The keyboard itself is great. It feels good, sounds good, and looks nice. I especially like the usb port on it since my gaming laptop is under my desk. I am not a huge gamer, but I understand that there are some advantages to setting up individual profiles for each game as well. I have mad a couple of macros, and that system works well.

Good quality mechanical keyboard. Seems slightly smaller than the Corsair full sized keyboard that it replaced. The magnetic attached wrist rest is a nice touch. Using it with a docked laptop, so wish it had a dedicated power/sleep key.

It’s the perfect keyboard for me. The keys aren’t too clicky. I don’t really use the RGB lighting much but it’s a very nice feature to have. Also, the OLED display is very useful to display different information (I use it to show my current Spotify song). Lastly, more keyboards need to implement the scrolling wheel from this keyboard! It’s very intuitive to use.

Great keyboard! The linear keys are great. The noise from pressing the keys is minor and is satisfying. The fell of the key press is as expected and as advertised. The color patterns are excellent. I particularly like the way the keys light up around the key you press. The extra functions like the volume control are helpful and work great. For me the extra keypad is a necessity as i work with numbers all day long. I had a razer blackwidow elite which was more expensive and not as good. Definitely a great buy. Only issue i had was when i plugged it into a usb hub that was connected to my laptop. When i plugged it directly into a usb slot on my computer it was smooth sailing. I'm thinking the issue wwas with my usb hub which i bought cheap.

I am a CPA in tax season hell and this keyboard just makes me happy. The lights are fun but once they get distracting I pick the Coastal preset and I am at the beach. Red keys are luxurious, great feel without loud click. Knurled volume control is slick. I set OLED for system performance stats and bought more RAM once I saw how much I was using.

Bright LED lights, solid build quality, well designed media controls. Comfortable switches. Neat OLED display for showing what song is playing/clock was icing on the cake. The SteelSeries software isn't great, but I don't know of any hardware control software that is perfect. It works. Whether you are new to mechanical keyboards... or not.. I highly recommend this keyboard!

Saw it on the shelf and it was so new I could not even find a review of it. The feel of the keys is superb. It has the feel of a mechanical(which it is), but without the loud key clicks that drive me nuts. The wrist rest is super smooth and comfortable. The only negative is the software, looks like it’s from about 10 years ago. Other than that, I would recommend 10/10.

Awesome keyboard, not much else to say about it. The little display above the numpad is cool, and the RGB is awesome. Mechanical keys feel great and look great! The travel is pretty standard and typing on the keyboard is a breeze. Fantastic keyboard. Firm build quality, virtually no flex.

The build quality, awesome; the oled on the corner, awesome; the rgb/macro customization, awesome!!! The only reason I returned it was because of the switches, very much personal preference. Coming from a membrane keyboard, I was a bit heavy-handed resting on the keys and i would accidently press them. The other thing is that they are LOUD! Again, coming from membrane, i was hoping for something much quieter so the noise from bottoming out and coming back up was too loud for my nocturnal gaming patterns. I switched keyboards to the be quiet! Dark Mount keyboard and it’s been mostly great. The silent tactile keeps me from pressing keys accidently and keeps it quiet at night.

BEST LED GAMING KEYBOARD PER 7 TEENS

WOW. At last, I found the perfect LED gaming keyboard, for Macs or Windows pc. I have purchased 13 different gaming keyboards in 18 months, for 7 teens in my fam who are serious gamers. 12 duds until I found THIS keyboard. Spent as much as $750 on 1 keyboard and this is THE BEST, IMO and according to all 7 teens. BTW, They're 17-19 y/o- not 13 year olds who are new to gaming. All 7 teens tried all 13 keyboards. They all say this Steel series LED gaming keyboard is hands down the best, period. Its also excellent for people who type so fast, that the keyboard can't keep up.... absolutely no issues there as long as you can deal with the clicking every time you hit a key. Although totally awesome, This is NOT quiet like some reviews say. Not sure what people define "quiet" as, but this sure isnt it. Not a deal breaker for my fam tho. It doesnt help with carpel tunnel either like some say. I have carpel tunnel. A split keyboard is what is needed (much cheaper also), Not a flat gaming keyboard. For people claiming this doesnt work "fully" on a macbook.. also NOT TRUE. That happens if you do not have the correct OS (10.11 or newer) for macs. This keyboard is working perfectly on 4 macbooks (all different years & diff OS) and 3 windows pcs- diff brands. As far as LED lights stopping or turning off and not coming back on.. yes you can easily shut the lights off accidentally. I did initially. You can just as easily change any of the colors or turn them off completely. Just read the manual to avoid these things instead of bashing a 5 star keyboard because you never read the manual... its not long and most companies dont even provide one in the box. I see NO issues at all- for 7 of these keyboards over 18 months time. The only thing I personally would change is the 6 ft usb wire which sounds long; however, it isnt if you plan to add another monitor, depending on monitor/desk size. Thats on me though, so im not going to dock stars for that or for parking at BB (since when is parking included in a product review?). Do yourself a favor and just avoid the Steel series app. MUCH easier to set up without considering the app absolutely blows. Constantly glitches and then dissapears on both mac and windows pc. 7 diff computers, same result. Reviews concur. I highly recommend steel develop an app that actually works, or just get rid of it all together. Thats my only complaint. Im not reviewing the app tho, Thus the 5 stars. Buy this if you have a gamer who needs an awesome keyboard with excellent led lighting. Best buy has great curbside service also. Very prompt & professional regardless of how busy they are. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This keyboard is a bit on the pricey side but, the keys feel great the RGB is bright, and with Steel Series software you can have some pretty cool effects. And the magnetic wrist pad is a nice added bonus, and if you don't want to use it, it's only magnetic so you can just take it off and put it in a drawer.

Really wasn't looking for a gaming keyboard, but really liked the demo over the other standards keyboards. It has a great ergo for natural typing including removable palm rest. The software for color customization is awesome. Really can customize some crazy stuff, even animated gifs across the keys. I will say the "red linear" keys are not silent. Just keep that in mind, if you pound the keys. Overall it doesn't bother me but there is a distinct clicking when typing, I would compare the sound to a typical standard keyboard.

Great keyboard! I had a logi mx keys and i would always typo on the keyboard because it had no tactile feedback. matter of fact i had many keyboards over the years that just wasnt that great. this one fit the bill. its clicky and feels great! be warned it sounds like a 90s keyboard. it isn't quiet. if you can get over the click sounds it is a awesome keyboard. i like how the wrist rest is magnetic. it will fall off if you lift they keyboard but will stay attached if you are gaming or typing so it will not slide around.

The best keyboard I've ever owned, no question. However the only downside I had is the keys are too quiet for comfort and I didn't feel when I was pressed keys by accident because there's no feedback from presses. No noise and an adjustable oled but tbh that's the only thing on this keyboard that can be looked over. Absolutely love the keyboard for the fact that it's quiet and subtle. If you like noisy mechanicals this isn't for you.

Absolutely love the feel of this keyboard. I've seen reviews about the wrist pad being tough to keep clean, but I haven't had this issue yet. I only use the keyboard for normal computer work, I have yet to game with the keyboard so maybe that would make it worse. No complaints, just make sure that you go into Best Buy to test the keys before you buy it. SteelSeries make several variations of mechanical and hybrid keys that feel very different.
