I've always disliked any clicky/bumpy keys, both from the feel and sound. I prefer as much silence as possible and smooth keystrokes. And while cherry mx red and similar linear switches provide such an outlet for that kind of experience, I couldn't put up with all the miss-clicks that would often result. This keyboard and it's OmniPoint Adjustable Switches provide the perfect solution! As long as Steelseries continues to create keyboards with these switches, I'm never switching to anything else. I can't imagine what could possibly top this. As for the keyboard overall, I mean it has it all. - Rubber grips - I have no trouble it it ever sliding, it just stays in place - Height adjustable feet - Cable management paths - you can choose which way the usb cable comes out from to accommodate your setup. - MEDIA CONTROLS - Yes! Even if their not much, they are still something, it amazes me how many keyboards these days from top brands don't include this in some way, it should be pretty much standard by now. With just a small minimalist scroll wheel and 1 button, you can quickly adjust volume and mute (by pressing the scroll wheel (genius right) ), you can quickly play/pause by pressing the singular button, and you can do more with multiple clicks such as double press for skipping track. - Fully customizable LED lighting with several effect options through the Steelseries Engine software - Detachable wrist-rest - Oh and it's magnetic! - USB Port - This comes in handy for several things like charging cellphones, or if you have a wireless headset like me, you can easily charge and play through it. - Quick access key to quickly adjust lighting, switch profiles and making macros - And then there is that little LED screen which is just a bonus - The overall build good quality plastic, it feels nice and smooth - Given that I'm reviewing the TKL version I'll also note that it takes up the least amount of space a keyboard this size should take, so basically what I mean by that is there is nothing unnecessarily added Are there any cons? It's hard to say, other than mostly theoretical stuff, such as what if the cable was detachable? Or if it had more than 1 height adjustment level? If you want to use the USB Port on it, you have to still connect a additional USB on your computer, so basically it's more of a convenience thing, you're not actually getting an additional USB slot. But really? I don't know, you'd have to get really nit-picky with it to find anything bad. As Long as this is the kind of keyboard for you, then it's for you, if you need your the kind that loves clicky switches, look elsewhere, albeit there is a chance you may still like it, just saying though, understand what this keyboard is trying to achieve beforehand. Also 1 last thing, the price. Yeah it's somewhat pricey but you get what you pay for, there are other more expensive keyboards out there that still offer less. I bought mine at full price, but if you can get it on sale, then you're a winner!

The things that make this keyboard so great is the oled screen, the switches, tye amount of customizable things you can do with it through the app, the adjustable switch press height, the keycaps, stabilizers, spacebar, the sound, and just the way how it looks. The oled screen is customizable through animations, to the stats of your computer like the temps, ram memory used up, cou memory used up, etc. Its my personal favorite and highly recommend it to people new to mechanical keyboards. I do not recommend taking out the switches on the keyboard because it has special switches meant for the keyboard and used for the customizable activation height. The keyboard itself is a great model. It has a usb on the top left of the keyboard and i use it for my mouse because my pc is realky far away from my mouse and it just works perfectly since i now have unlimited space for mu mouse now. I never really experienced any cons and if you are looking for a new keyboard, i highly recommend buying this one.

The Apex Pro TKL is highly regarded for its groundbreaking features, particularly its customizable mechanical switches. Unlike traditional mechanical keyboards, the Apex Pro TKL uses OmniPoint adjustable switches that allow users to set the actuation point of each key, from a light 0.4mm to a firm 3.6mm. This level of customization makes it ideal for both gamers who need rapid response times and typists who prefer a more deliberate keystroke. The keyboard also features a durable aluminum alloy frame, ensuring longevity and a premium feel, along with per-key RGB lighting that adds a personalized visual flair. In addition to its innovative hardware, the Apex Pro TKL excels in software integration. The SteelSeries Engine software provides comprehensive customization options, from key bindings to lighting effects, and even allows users to save multiple profiles for different games or tasks. The TKL (TenKeyLess) design also makes it more compact and portable, without sacrificing essential features. The inclusion of an OLED smart display for real-time information, such as in-game stats or Discord messages, further enhances its functionality. All these features combine to make the Apex Pro TKL a top choice for competitive gamers and enthusiasts alike.

This is the 10keyless version of the keyboard and it's my first foray into not having a 10key. I wanted something really top notch to make my typing a bit more relaxing and I read the reviews about the actuation being very low. It's a steep price, but I think the functionality is the dealbreaker for me which made it worth it. The build quality is top notch, the RGB lightning is as expected very nice and clean. What I could probably use in it was a next audio track function easily accessible like many other keyboards, but apart from that I'm typing smoothly, fast, and it's super responsive which is exactly what I wanted. Big step up from my previous logitech keyboard. The detachable magnet wrist rest is very comfortable as well and convenient to detach/retatch again.

Excellent keyboard, buttons feel good and the ability to set the actuation to whatever you want down to .2mm is very nice for squeezing out all the performance you want for competitive gaming. I have a large desk so the TKL fits fine without getting in the way of king mouse movements but if you have w smaller desk I’d look for the 60% version but a real solid keyboard easier to get ahold of than a wooting

Have used a variety of mechanical keyboards. Previous keyboard is a razer huntsman optical linear. While the huntsman is a very fast keyboard and is amazing for gaming. However, I was making a ton of typos while typing, not to mention the ultra light actuation is not ideal for every type of games. I almost went with a full custom keyboard in hope to resolve this issue but was discouraged by the lack of software refinement. I had bad experience with steelseries mice in the past (mostly software side), but this keyboard completely changes my impression. The build quality is more solid than the razer huntsman, the keycaps are holding up well, wrist pad feels great and this keyboard has the highest tint angle compare to the competition (which I like). The star of the show is the omni point switches, I can set my WASD and shift key to short actuation for snappy action, and my number keys to normal actuation to prevent accidental weapon switch. The omni point switches are got to be the smoothest key switches out of all gaming keyboards and it also makes a very nice typing sound similar to a custom keyboard. I was honestly surprised by this, now I know why custom keyboards enthusiasts like to lube their switches. Also another big point is this keyboard is in standard bottom row unlike razer and corsair. I know the keycaps are ABS, but since it's standard bottom row, getting custom keycaps won't be an issue. The RGB works better in ABS keycaps than PBT keycaps in case you don't know. The only few down side of this keyboard are the switches have more wobble than the razer huntsman, and the RBG customization is better in the razar app. I don't care much for the little LED screen but for the life of me I don't understand why steelseries doesn't include a function to show a clock.

The on-the-fly capability of adjusting the actuation point of the switches was the selling point of this particular keyboard. It is enjoyable to be able to set different keys for different games and programs. Some keys in some keys a shorter or longer stroke to activate the key, while general productivity may benefit from a longer actuation to try to prevent some typos. It is rather pricey compared to the few other keyboards available with the same type of switch, just not adjustable. Would be nice to get the better keycaps included for the price. The original keycaps started to shine in light usage within two hours before going to a different store the next morning for the PBT Doubleshot keycaps. Sometimes the full size keyboard has shown up at a substantial discount. If one does not mind a full size keyboard it would certainly be worth a look if it is on sale. Needed to go into Windows settings to disable some USB sleep settings to be able to more consistently have the keyboard working when waking the computer from sleep. Had not had to do that on previous keyboards. There are two larger cons with this keyboard. First, Steelseries Engine is becoming as bloated as some other company's software. Years ago used a Steelseries Sensei and very much liked the simplicity of Engine. This new Steelseries GG adds features that will not be used for sakes of being able to claim to offer them. Second, the OmniPoint switches are not used on every key giving some keys a very different feel. Would prefer even a slightly higher price and have the same switch for every key even the ones Steelseries must deem not used as much.

I have been using this kb for about four months now and I have nothing but good to say about it. The customization on this thing is great! I have been wanting a tkl for a long time and did some research and ended up deciding on this one. I'm glad I went with the Pro version. The key actuation is adjustable which means you can make them as sensitive as you are comfortable with. The wrist support isn't padded but to me it still feels comfortable. The RGB customization is simple with Steelseries' PC app. The raised key style makes cleaning it simple (just take a picture of it first so you can remember where to put them back). Overall I have had no issues and nothing but good to say about this kb. It is a little pricey but what good keyboard isn't.

Definitely the best pre-built keyboard on the market. SteelSeries Omnipoint switches are some of the buttery/smoothest switches available. The ability to change the force of key strokes is nice as well, the wrist rest is a nice finishing touch. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who wants the smoothest linear switches available in a store shelf gaming keyboard. Nothing comes close in that regard.
