Fantastic 7.1 surround . Comfortable and keep your head and ears cool for hours of gaming at a time . Steelseries Software if awsome and the more SS products you own , the better everything flows . If i had one complaint ??? Some RGB would have been a nice touch for the price range . Hands down the best I've used and that was before installing SteelSeries GG software to turn on Surround Sound 7.1! The headset is comfortable on my head with the universal band and the earcups are soft. Love all the physical audio controls, which make a hassle free experience.

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 stands out as a top-tier wireless gaming headset that delivers a winning combination of audio quality, comfort, and versatility, making it a true contender for serious gamers and multimedia enthusiasts alike. One of the most striking features is the audio performance. The Arctis 7 produces immersive, high-fidelity sound that heightens gaming experiences and brings movies and music to life. The DTS Headphone:X v2.0 technology ensures accurate spatial audio, allowing you to pinpoint the direction of sounds with impressive precision. Comfort during extended gaming sessions is a priority, and the Arctis 7 excels in this area. The ski-goggle-inspired headband design evenly distributes the headset's weight, eliminating pressure points. The AirWeave ear cushions are plush and breathable, preventing discomfort even during marathon gaming sessions. Wireless connectivity is seamless, and the 2.4GHz connection provides a stable and lag-free experience. The range is impressive, allowing you to move around without worrying about signal drops. The headset also includes a 3.5mm audio jack for wired connections, providing flexibility for different setups. The retractable ClearCast microphone is another standout feature. It delivers clear and noise-free communication, making it ideal for multiplayer gaming and online calls. When not in use, the microphone tucks away neatly into the headset, maintaining the sleek and unobtrusive design. The on-ear controls are intuitive and easy to access, allowing you to adjust volume, mute the microphone, and toggle chat/game audio balance without interrupting your gameplay. While the Arctis 7 offers a premium experience, it's worth noting a couple of considerations. The headset's plastic build might feel less premium compared to some all-metal alternatives. Additionally, the software interface, while functional, could benefit from a more user-friendly design. In conclusion, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 excels in delivering superb audio quality, exceptional comfort, and a range of features that cater to gamers' needs. If you're in search of a wireless headset that enhances your gaming and multimedia experiences, the Arctis 7 is a strong choice that strikes an excellent balance between performance and comfort.

I've had a LOT of 'gaming' headphones throughout the years and these are by far top tier. The quality of these are top notch; everything feels premium. There very comfortable to wear and the audio quality is great. No, your not getting reference level speakers, however for the use, these are about as good as your going to get in gaming headphones. The mic is good to, however not great. Don't expect Blue Yeti quality from it, but its better than most. Something that I found great about these is the chat/game audio rocker on the side of the headphones. Makes it very easy to balance between voice chat (in game / discord) and game audio. On top of all that, the wireless has worked flawlessly for me and the battery life seems pretty good up to this point (have owned these for a few months). If I had to critique these any, I would say it would have been a lot more convenient for them to use USB-C for the charging port rather than micro-usb. Better yet, include the option for wireless charging, even if its a separate purchase stand. The micro-usb is sorta annoying having to charge it, and I could see this being the faulty point over heavy use. Besides that, I would give these a solid 9/10 for gaming headphones. Minus one point for the higher price tag and the lack of easier charging options.

I owned the previous version of the Arctis 7 headset, before Steelseries updated it in 2019. Although the prior version was excellent, I found it was not loud enough, plus the earphones were not as comfortable as I would prefer. Both of those issues have been rectified with the current version. The headphones have plenty of volume, without any distortion. Moreover, Steelseries apparently added some padding and so the headphones are nice and comfortable, even when I am wearing glasses. Otherwise, this is the same great headset that has gained such critical acclaim over the years. The sound is superb, with ample bass. The battery life is amazing, I have yet to charge the headset despite regular use since I purchased it. And, the range is impressive. Definitely buy with confidence!

Wireless Headsets I went through before keeping this one: (problem from memory in parentheses) HyperX Cloud Flight - Bought/Returned (pressed ears slightly?) Corsair HS70 - Bought/Returned (pressed ears) Corsair Void Pro - Tried in-store (pressed ears) Logitech G533 - Tried in-store (clunky, harsh cups) Razer Nari - Bought/Returned (heavy) Astro A20 - Tried in-store (pressed ears) Sony Gold Wireless Headset (late 2018 updated version) - Tried in-store (pressed ears) Bluetooth aptX Headsets (we'll get into why later if you're interested): TaoTronics TT-BH036 - Bought/Returned (latency) Avantree HT4189 - Bought/Returned (latency, clamping force, pressed ears) Comfort: This is the most common reason I returned/did not purchase many of the previously mentioned headsets. I apparently have a very weird head. I'm super sensitive to shallow cups (ears stick out causing pain if pressed for a long time) and clamping force (big head causes headaches if squeezed for very long). Heavy headsets can still "squeeze" my head due to weight on top of my head even if they don't have much clamping force on the sides. Due to this, I feel confident that I am as critical as it gets as far as headset comfort goes. The Arctis 7 was kept because it did not cause discomfort when wearing for many hours. There is a caveat: As it comes in the box, it has too much clamping force for me. Luckily, the headband is made out of "sheet metal" and an adjustable strap. The strap can be loosened to let the headset contact as much of the top of your head as possible (distributing weight to remove pressure points). The metal band can be bent backwards to reduce how hard it squeezes your head. I found a forum post somewhere made by an acclaimed Steelseries employee who advised this, so that is what I did, and it worked great. Just be gentle, do it a little at a time, eventually it will be perfect! There is no padding on the interior of the cups which scared me as I usually need it, but these cups do not touch my ears somehow so it is not required. Latency: This is more of a side note for the bluetooth headsets. Most everyone knows that bluetooth headsets will have higher latency than headsets with proprietary wireless transmitters. What some don't know is that there is a variant of bluetooth protocol that aims to correct this, it is called "aptX". To use it, both your transmitting and receiving devices must be aptX enabled. I will admit, the latency was very low for the aptX bluetooth headphones. When watching videos it was unnoticeable, however when playing an FPS, it was very very soft but it was there. Switching over to my wired headset confirmed this. If you are going for a wireless headset for gaming, you currently must get one designed for it. The Arctis 7 does not have noticeable latency, nor did any of the other gaming headsets I tried. Speaker Quality: I'm definitely not an audiophile but I have higher than average taste in sound. This headset sounds nice. I have not played with the EQ, but I may try to turn up the lows a little bit. Mic Quality: It's wireless, and a gaming headset, so it is what it is. It seems to pick up more depth to the sound than other mics, your voice won't sound as flat, however I suppose this comes at a cost on background noise cancellation as it seems a little more prevalent in this headset than others. Construction: This is one of the more well-built units I've got my hands on. Time will tell how it holds up, but the build quality seems upper-tier. Battery: I can't comment on this, but I highly advise that you get some magnetic micro usb cables. Basically, the cable becomes two pieces. You plug a little micro usb dongle in your headset and then you can connect the corresponding cable any way around. The dongle and cable magnetically snap together. Makes plugging the headset in so easy that you won't ever be conflicted with "should I fumble with the connector or should I skip charging for now and just do it later". Any time I set the headset down, I charge it, because it's super easy to do so now. Therefore I will never be able to comment on batter life. If you too are plagued by comfort issues, and maybe do not want to go wireless just yet (cost being the only reason I can think of), I would highly recommend the HyperX Cloud Silver. They're not cheap but they are worth it. To this day they are the most comfortable headset I have ever worn, with good sound and great build quality.

Deserves the stellar online reviews but bad DEMO

After a month of research, I narrowed my choices, including this SteelSeries Arctis 7. When I tested all the display/demo units, my heart sank and decided not to buy anything. Why? Because I found the sound in the store demo set up HORRIBLE, UGLY, and all the negative adjectives I can throw at it. Maybe it's just because I'm used to real audio gears. But I went back the next day anyway to pull the trigger on the Arctis 7 as I still needed a headset regardless, and the Arctis 7 has one of the best reviews. I'm glad I did and was pleasantly surprised when I plugged this to my Razer laptop. The sound was fuller, more alive, and richer than when I listened to it in Best Buy. It is now a hundred times better than what I heard from the store demo set-up. Maybe it is also helped by the fact that I use a BONGIOVI DPS plug-in in my laptop, and it makes things sound so much better than stock, but my point being that this headset has potential to produce good sound. Anyway, here are the positives: 1. Really nice build and just the perfect size and heft. Not too bulky. My set-up is 99% Razer but made an exception for this one. The Razer headsets are just too big and heavy for me. 2. Retractable microphone. I didn't really need a mic, so I'm happy that I can stow it away on this headset and overall it would look like it has no mic at all. 3. A dongle that let's you plug in both this headset and your desktop speakers 2-way. If the headset is off, the sound flows by default to the desk speakers. When you turn this headset on, sound is automatically re-routed to the headset and desk speakers get cut off. Turn this headset off and sound goes back to speakers. In 2 weeks of use, it has worked flawlessly without a hiccup. 3. I actually liked the way the headset adjusts to the head. It has no adjustable moving parts like conventional headphones, but more of an elastic band that adjusts to your head. You can tighten or loosen it, but the default setting worked for me out of the box. This ensures no matter how I handle the headset, the fit will always be the same and no constant re-adjusting. 4. I have yet to experience any disconnections in my 2 weeks of use, I would say reliability has been a solid 100% until now. 5. I Like the deep black minimalistic appearance. Light on logos or loud designs. Almost looks like a perfect pair to my Black 2019 Razer Blade 15 laptop, and the rest of my black accessories. 6. Instant pairing, no wait times. Just turn it on and you're good to go. 7. No RGB - I love RGB all my other accessories are Razer Chroma, but all of them are constantly plugged in. This being a wireless headset, the lack of lighting will prolong battery life. And the negatives: 1. Don't trust the DEMO in the store. They sort of messed the set-up on that one and this will sound bad initially. 2. I somehow don't like the software that came with this, I think it's not yet mature. I also don't bother turning on the surround sound feature from the software as I generally don't like double amplification and enhancements and would still prefer the sound processing to be performed by my Bongiovi DPS. 3. Lastly, don't expect to get blown-away with the sound. They are definitely not audiophile grade, but I would say they sound pretty good for the purpose it was meant to be - a gaming headset. 4. And it has no RGB lighting - if you're the kind who wants to be all lit up. Conclusion: One happy buy, and I would recommend this to a friend.

So far this headset has been great. The ear pads are soft and comfortable. The adjustable mic slides smoothly and the red indicator light when you're muted is a nice feature to have. The headset has a medium grip so it doesn't squeeze my head too much, I'm probably average for an adult (s/m flex fit hat size). The sound quality is good as well. Good high and mid range, bass isn't super heavy but I feel like it's pretty well balanced. Subtle in-game cues like footsteps, doors creaking, etc are easy to pick up with minimal effort. Louder sounds are crisp and punchy. Battery life has been solid so far, I haven't measured my play time but it's been good The few detractors I would say first is on PS4 the chat slider isn't compatible. You'll have to manually adjust the voice chat volume in the console settings. But from my understanding on PC this isn't an issue, not sure about the next gen PS5 and Xbox. Another thing, no usb-c charging, so on low battery it takes a bit to fully charge again. The build quality seems fine, sturdy enough but for the price I didn't expect it to be mostly plastic/composite. Some aluminum would have made this set look and feel 10x better, but I suppose that's my personal preference. Overall I would buy this again, for the price it has great features and is very comfortable.

This is the most comfortable headset I've ever used. I wear it all day for work (remote) and at night while gaming without any discomfort. It can easily go 2 full days before needing a charge, and it can also charge while in use. A nice bonus is that I can walk several rooms away without losing connection. The microphone is crystal clear and does a great job of blocking out background noises; such as keyboard clicks and kids playing in the other room. The sound quality is great, but not very much bass. It's loud and clear, which allows you to easily hear directional footsteps while gaming. The Steelseries software does offer an EQ to boost the low end, but it does not compare to my Skullcandy headphones. This was a concern of mine before purchasing, but as it turns out the clarity offers better spatial recognition while gaming which has improved my gameplay a considerable amount. Adding up the comfort, clarity, loudness, ability to control volume between chat and game right on the headset, and microphone quality I would list this as my favorite headset of all time. This being compared to headsets I've had in the past: Logitech G Pro, Turtle Beach Elite Pro, Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000, Skullcandy Crusher Wireless, and Skullcandy Venue Wireless.
