I have a limited scope on gaming specific headsets compared to audio focused ones but this is my initial impression without applying any third party EQ software.
Audio quality is good not great. Heavy bass can distort and volume seems to be slightly limited. Games that make use of spatial awareness seem to benefit from this set. This was tested with Dolby Atmos for headphones spatial audio which does require an additional $15 to utilize.
Comfort is fine. Sessions over an hour or two have not been a problem but there are some aftermarket parts that you can get that might alleviate any issues you might have.
Steelseries software is great out of the box but you will have much more control with 3rd party software if you choose to use it.
Mic quality is fine. The mic itself is retractable but doesn't seem to easily conform to the shape I want it to be. Minor issue but slightly annoying.
Wireless capability is excellent. I have plaster walls and the connectivity has been great even when I walk away from my PC.
I don't care about RGB on headsets so non issue
Durability seems fine but this is a new purchase so I don't really know
Cost... as always you are paying a premium for Steelseries compared to same class competitors. I am docking a star for that alone.

The Plantronix 800LX was sold out everywhere and even got refunded from Newegg after I placed an order for them!
So, I looked for other options.
Based on reviews I'd read, the Arctis 7 seemed decent for the price. Comfort was of utmost importance. I'd used the Astro A40s which are significantly more expensive- but they hurt the tips of my ears after a few hours.
These don't. I make small adjustments over a few hours, and my ears feel fine.
The sound is very good and encapsulating. It's not like booming base but for $150, it suited my needs perfectly. Great range for an apartment too! The retractable mic is great too. You do have to keep it very close to your mouth, but that's just so you're aware, it's not a complaint.
In addition, it has a switch you can plug your audio input into and it will switch from your headset to your speakers whenever you turn your headset on or off. That's a great feature I didn't even know I wanted, but now I love!
I am very happy with my purchase.

Lightweight and comfortable, yet of sturdy composition. Sound is great as is wireless range. Battery life is good: about 18 hours if using mic and cans, or about 24 hours if just listening to audio and not using mic. Only downside is mic sounds a little weak and tinny, but can can be compensated for in filters for software you use (Teams, Skype, etc.).

I work from a busy home with a fair amount of ambient noise. My company is spread out around the globe with many different accents and different levels of wifi connectivity. We use both MS Teams and Zoom to connect digitally on a daily basis. These headphones provide exceptionally good audio both for inbound sound and my outbound voice. I love the added mute button on the headset that assures me I am really on mute even if I have already hit mute on my computer. Plus, I am generally warm person and was at first concerned that the headphones would get sweaty if worn all day - luckily not at all, very comfortable in fact. They hold the charge all day even when I am on calls for hours and their range is about 25 feet which lets me move around the house when I need to. If you are not used to headphones it took me about a week to get used to the noise canceling which is a little strange if you leave them on outside of calls - but again these headphones are awesome! Oh and one other thing I plugged the wireless link into the USB port, clicked on the Power and they instantly worked - no loading of drivers - plug and play.

Purchased this over a year ago and it’s been going strong - great battery life that lasts all week with hours a day of use, strong construction, and comfortable materials that don’t fatigue. Incidentally it also has a great range on the wireless. Very much recommend.

very light weight and comfy. The price is kind high but if it goes on sale it is worth it. Long battery life recharges with mico usb. You could wire in your phone to the receiver and listen to that and your pc both wirelessly at the same time. All the cables included at plenty long

I originally purchased these for a call center job where I could have my own headphones. They were amazing for it! The range on them is good, the microphone is great, and I had no issues connecting them ever. The charge on it would allow me to use them for 3-4 days before they actually needed to be charged. The sound cancelling is also very good and they are really comfortable. I now use them at home for MMORPGs as well. I love being able to control the volume on them and the mute is easy to see as well.
My only con on them is that they are not as adjustable as I would like. I have a smaller head (female here), but they are still good. They do fit well and I have been able to get them adjusted. It may just take a bit.

Very good sounding headphones and deliver good enough noise cancelation with the soft paddings. Although the folding feature can be uncomfortable at times it is still a grate feature. The battery time is good but it is somewhat difficult to tell how much battery is left without opening the app. The strap doesn't hurt the top of my head as much as other headphones do, although I haven't tried changing the fit, I doubt you would complain about it no fitting you. Only could wish for them to work with Xbox instead of buying a separate pair. Connectivity is good and the dongle for range is quite long, microphone and volume are perfect.

I'm a big headphones enthusiast. Not a full blown audiophile, but I'm constantly in search of the perfect headphones. You really don't get something as fantastic as this wireless headset for less than $200. It has lossless 2.4 Ghz which I haven't run into in this price range. It has surround sound, it's comfy (thanks Steelseries for the ski band), and it has customizable EQ when you download Steelseries Engine. Sounds are crisp - I can very clearly hear footsteps and explosions in games, as well as mids and highs in a variety of songs regardless of genre. Bass isn't as prominent, but passable when listening to music. It doesn't connect via Bluetooth; it has a transmitter which is probably better for lower latency and quality since BT compresses audio. Can't recommend this headset enough.

My old wireless headset finally died. Well, my dog decided the headset was a funky-shaped chew toy. Since COVID has me working from home, I figured it was a good excuse to get a new headset that I could use for work (and gaming, time permitting, of course).
The SteelSeries came up in a few reviews, so I figured I'd give Arctis a try. I'm glad I did.
Initial charge time was close to two hours, but I can go an entire day on the thing, happily teleconferencing my heart out, and still have several hours left in it to play at night.
I wasn't wild about the fit and the strap inside the headband at first, but I've gotten used to it. The fit on my ears is solid, and the ear cups are soft enough to wear for hours at a time. It doesn't *quite* sit comfortably off one ear while on the other ("DJ style"), but I can make it work well enough when I need to wear it that way.
Microphone quality is solid, so people can understand me when I mumble. There is enough bass response for me, though I can imagine that some people might find it a little weak there. There are plenty of decibels inside, so it'll crank up for you.
The box comes with the headset, charging cable (mini USB), cable to connect the headset by wire to a console, and transmitter/receiver which connects to the computer by a Type A USB connector at the end of a cable that is about 36" long. It connected right away - easy set up. I don't remember now if there was a CD with software...I think there was. The first version of the SteelSeries software I installed had a glitch or two, but it auto-updated to a newer version that fixed the bugs I noticed, making them irrelevant for this review. The software is not required, but it does have some interesting features for those who want to get in and tweak their sounds.
In the end, I absolutely recommend this headset, whether for work or gaming. It does a great job.

This is now my second Arctis 7 headset, and I couldn't be any happier today with using it than I was 3 years ago.
Pros -
Sound - very good sound with calibrated settings and spatial sound enabled(look up PEACE EQ and Arctis 7 settings with it, you won't be disappointed).
Battery - fantastic, 24 hours is definitely true here
Comfort - very comfortable. Steel series ski band is a hit here. No part of your head or ears gets any more pressure than others. Perfectly balanced across the head for all day comfort.
Durability - strong build quality. None of the parts on the headset feels fragile or cheap. Steel series did a fantastic job creating this product.
Neutral -
Microphone - while more than adequate even for using through discord, steam voice, or even making calls through VOIP, it's definitely not the best microphone to date. Your voice can seem a tad washed. However, I've yet to have any body mention they couldn't hear my voice clearly.
Cons - this is my second headset as I've mentioned. Why? Well, the first headset finally stopped charging after a few years. Is the life expectancy of the battery to be only a few years? If so, that's something I feel should be noted here.
Add on suggestions -
While the original ear cups are plush and comfortable, I highly recommend checking out the leather cups that you can buy online or directly from Steel series. They add a whole other level of comfort and feel far more premium than the default ones.
I highly recommend this headset for every day computer audio, and gaming use.

This headset is great, but there are a few shortcomings that I'll talk about. Despite those, I'm still very happy with my purchase and I'm glad I upgraded from a wired logitech headset from a few years ago.
Pros:
-Great sound. Not "audiophile" quality, but definitely good enough to listen to high quality music for most people. 7.1 surround is great to have. EQ is a tiny bit boosted in the mids but that usually helps for games.
-Good to great battery life. I'm using this for college courses during the day and games at night, so it gets a lot of use. I'll typically get a full week out of it before it needs a charge.
-Comfort. This headset is very comfy, the elastic band on the top is very soft and the clamping pressure is perfect. I can wear this for a while and it doesn't hurt.
-Retractable Mic. Nice feature that I don't really use that often but makes it really nice when you need to set these down.
Neutral:
-Micro USB!!! Please put USB-C on the next version, it would be so much nicer.
-Mic Quality. Not terrible, but not great either. Perfectly acceptable for talking to friends on discord though.
Cons:
-Charging. It took me a while to figure out how to charge these. I think they have to be on in order to get a decent charge? Still trying to figure that out.
-USB dongle connector. One of the intended features is that when the headset is off, you can switch to a set of desktop speakers instead of changing your audio device. I tried this and unfortunately there is a ton of noise on the speakers, plus the audio jack is so close to the cord that I can barely get the speaker jack in.
-SteelSeries Software. Not awful or a dealbreaker, but leaves a lot to be desired.
Overall this is a really good headset. Don't get me wrong, it does have some minor flaws, but has genuinely great features with very few downsides and a reasonable price. When I bought this, I let my roommate try it out and he liked it so much that he bought one that day. Highly recommend!

I'm going to start off by saying this headset is a good headset. I will not be basing any part of this review off of the SteelSeries software.
This headset is extremely comfortable to wear. I've used this headset for 12+ hours a day almost everyday since I've had it, and I cannot remember a single time where it had caused me any discomfort. I love the ski band on this headset, and I wish more were like this!
The retractable mic is a nice feature, and having the mic mute button on the left side on the back of the headset is super convenient. The top of the mic will light up red to show you when it's muted and hard to miss. The mic quality is already pretty nice as well, my voice sounds crisp when I'm speaking, so I really don't have any complaints here.
The range of connectivity is fantastic as well. I am able to walk around my 1700sq foot house and not drop connection due to being too far away from the dongle. I am also able to continue to speak clearly, and I have never had an issue with cutting out.
Now for the reason I am giving this headset a 4/5. I'm not sure if this is just my headset or not, but the battery life does not last 24 hours as stated. Mine lasts around 15 hours until it starts beeping at me to let me know that it's on its last leg. I have also had issues with it randomly turning off despite being at a full charge. Sometimes when I initially turn the headset on, only the sound activates and my microphone does not turn on. It is not muted during this time, and to resolve it I just need to press the power button again and then my mic will activate. I may have just gotten a defective headset, and if others have had these issues or not.
All of that being said, this is a good headset and I would recommend to anyone wanting to purchase this headset. This is a great price for what you're getting, and I wouldn't expect any less from a SteelSeries product.

These are great. I love the dual control for the Chat and Game settings. Love being able to turn people down and turn my game up. The battery lasts me several days after gaming for several (about 5) hours a day and only needs to be plugged in for a few hours to fully recharge. Sound is great for a gaming headset. It's also comfortable around my ears with my industrial piercing. I find that to be important considering my last headset would hurt to wear and irritated my piercing. Also isn't super heavy for my head or neck

This headset is probably the best one that I have ever owned, as it has the perfect mix of comfort, sound quality, microphone convenience, and aesthetics. It is probably the most comfortable headset I have ever used, with the Logitech G733 being its only real competition in that area in my opinion. The sound quality from these things is great, especially after you go through and optimize the EQ settings. I tested these side by side with the Arctis Pro Wireless headset (which is widely accepted as being one of the best gaming headsets money can buy and is more than DOUBLE the price) and surprisingly, the Arctis 7 headset sounded much MUCH better. There is no constant static sound present when audio being played was low or nonexistent with the Arctis 7 as there was with the Pro Wireless, and the actual sound in the Pro Wireless sounded very empty and weak. Maybe it was just the units I got, but again, the Arctis 7 sounded significantly fuller and richer than did the Pro Wireless. The microphone is sufficient for my gaming chat purposes, but it won't win any awards for clarity and doesn't hold a candle to the Corsair Virtuoso RGB's mic. And finally, it's a pretty product to look at and wear. It is very understated in its looks and matches the kind of modern vibe I have going in my gaming room, and so I much prefer that over the chunkiness or harsh angles very common in gaming headphones. The only thing I wish was better is the way in which you can tell how much battery life the headset has remaining, as currently, I believe that the only ways to check are to remove the headset and look at the power button on the headset itself as it flashes different colors depending on the charge level of the headset, or a basic battery icon with three segments can be found in the SteelSeries software. Neither of these options are optimal, but with the long battery life of over 20 hours, as long as you check the color of the button when you turn the headset on or off, there shouldn't be any issues as you will have ample warning that the headset needs to be charged before it ever becomes an issue. All in all, this product is great, and I expect to enjoy these for a long time to come.

I can't express enough how much I love this headset. I purchased this headset after owning a Logitech G933 and am glad I took a chance on this headset. It is lightweight, comfortable, doesn't feel like its gonna snap when you put it on, the battery life is amazing and last but not least the sound quality is great!
Even in some distances away from your computer if your trying to do stuff around the house but want to listen to some music. If I did this with the Logitechs the signal would start getting interrupted. If you are in a market for wireless headphones give these a shot!

Works very nicely on PC. Wireless not supported on Xbox One. I do not have a PS4, so no comments there.
Plug and play is seamless for PC. I am able to swap between desktop and laptop without any action required beyond unplugging and plugging the receiver. The head strap is a little tight, but I also have a very large (size 8) noggin. This is still reasonably comfortable for extended use. Battery life is very good. Can usually get two days (~8 hours of use per day) before a charge becomes necessary.
Works fine using a 3.5mm jack for Xbox One (note: only with the bluetooth refresh Xbox One controllers that have the 3.5mm jack - my launch controllers are not compatible).
The sound/chat balance wheel is nice, although I occassionally accidentally set it too far to chat and it feels for a minute like the headset has stopped working until I adjust the balance back. I don't consider this a design flaw, but rather a minor inconvenience.
The mute button and mute light are great. I tend to mute myself in shooters (no need to let everyone know how much I cuss) and it's easy enough to pop in and out of chat.
When connecting via cord (either for charging or when using the Xbox), the cord occasionally rubs the ear cup and makes some noise in my ear, which I don't love, but that has been fairly common in previous wireless headsets that I have used when cord-attachment was necessary.
The microphone does not have phenomenal sound, but works fine for gaming use.
The sound quality overall is probably not going to blow away any audiophiles, but at this price point and with a primary use of gaming, this headset is well put together. The noise cancellation is respectable. Highs and mids are quite good. Voice is crisp. Bass is somewhat wanting, but in fairness this is a headset and very few headsets can effectively reproduce bass frequencies.
One final note, my previous headset was amazing (Lucidsound LS35X) until it literally fell apart due to transport (in a Boulder Cases heavy-duty foam-lined equipment case). The Arctic headset has not had any cracking or deterioration with the same amount and style of transport. This is a well-built headset.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is if you have an above-average size head then it can get quite uncomfortable after a long period of time. The battery life is amazing, the distance it reaches is amazing, and sound quality is pretty good and the microphone is decent. Wouldnt recommend these headphones if you need a lot of bass. Though for gaming or just talking on discord or watching videos this is a great wireless headset.

Great sounding and very comfortable. Battery last for a decent amount of time. Only complaint is that the volume control is a spinning wheel on the back of the left ear so when you adjust the headphones or take them off and put them on it is easy to accidentally turn the volume up really loud. Whish volume control was either locate somewhere else or a tactile button. That's the only reason I don't give them a 5.

I bought these on an impulse and they turned out to be one of my favorite and best purchases to date. I bought them for online gaming during the initial COVID lockdown. Now I use them for not only gaming, but to watch TV and movies, especially late at night without audible noise in the room.
Sound quality is solid. They aren't HiFi by any means but everything is crisp, clear, and has some good punch to it.
Microphone picks up my voice very well. Friends note how clear my audio comes through on their end. The fact that it's retractable is a huge bonus as well.
The headphones are comfy. They have sat on my head for countless, multiple hour sessions, with practically zero discomfort. They are comfortable for short and extended use.
Battery life is actually incredible. I would estimate 30 hours of use between charges. Sometimes I'll turn my headset on for a gaming session, expecting it to die on me, however it will last another 3-4 days before the low battery chime begins. This is a massive plus in my book, the battery life.
Connectivity is also great and I've had zero issues with audio dropping. This has been flawless. I will say however that I do not like the dongle USB attachment. I understand the interface and the need for it, but it requires more than just a simple Bluetooth pairing to connect. There is a physical element involved, which is not a big deal. But for this reason I cannot connect it to multiple devices, or even just my TV. Not a deal breaker, but this would be my only qualm about this unit
Overall, this is a fantastic headset that's been trucking strong for a year now with no issues. If you're on the fence, just make the purchase. You won't regret it
