Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent sound quality, comfort, and long battery life of the SteelSeries Arctis 9X Wireless Gaming Headset. Many also appreciate the convenient Bluetooth functionality. However, some users experienced connection issues and others felt the price was high. A few customers also noted that the bass could be improved and the range was not optimal for all users.

    Good (not great) gaming headset

I have previously owned both wired and wireless higher-end gaming headsets with brands such as Turtle beach and Astro’s. For the price, I would go a different route. The main reason for that is the wireless connection to the Xbox one can be inconsistent at times. In the middle of Call of Duty or another similar game where perfect sound is cruck always, and the sound will suddenly start going in and out. The Bluetooth option is nice but not really a necessary luxury. Also the bass aspect is really below average compared to other models, even with Dolby Atmos enabled.

These headphones are great for gaming as well as just headphones for your phone and music. I really love the simultaneous audio between my console and bluetooth. Sound quality is good. The build quality feels a little cheap, but you should be careful with your headset anyway. Only reason its not a 5 star is because sometimes the audio will be a little staticky

    GREAT FOR XBOX not PC

This is first an Xbox headset with the compatibility to PC. I had just bought the new astro A50 gen 4 but was not satisfied with the sound quality I was getting for $300. I bought these and the sound is fantastic. I play pubg, blackout and apex legends and hearing steps and gunshots is key in battle royale games and this headset delivers. My preferred sound preset is SMILEY. I gave this 4 stars bc the steelseries arctis pro on my PS4 is a superior headset but it's not fully compatible with xbox. Arctis 9x is great for xbox and the best headset for xbox right now but not worth it for PC.

The sound is amazing, but if you're planning on using this for anything other than your XBox, good luck. Lots of effort, hair pulling out, etc. You can get it done, but be ready for some effort, also, be ready to buy an additional usb stick for your computer. I was able to get it to sync up to my bluetooth on my system ONCE, then it dropped it like a bad habit. Worked great for my work phone, synced up to my samsung phones in a pinch for some conference calls when I was in dire straights one afternoon. Great headset, but not for that price!

Great sound over all, but there is occasionally an odd crackling noise that's almost like it's having trouble connecting, usually sorts itself out in a minute or two but it's very distracting

Good and bad! Great sound and VERY comfortable! BUT at the cost of having to buy the Xbox wireless adapter for PC and still having connection issues. Without the wireless adapter you have a popping/crackling sound if connected via Bluetooth to PC. With the wireless adapter you can't walk more than 5ft away from your computer without it losing connection. Yes you can connect with a 3.5mm wire, but you lose your mic and why would you buy a WIRELESS HEADSET!

These headphones are great. I got them on a deal and have had them before this as well. I bought a new pair because my other pair broke due to misuse. Noise cancelation does what you'd expect. I think the gaming volume could be louder but bluetooth connectivity and volume are great and chat volume when in a party is great as well.

ok where to start, i liked the way they feel. more headphones need to have a simular mic style. sound was amazing. ok what didnt like- the sound coming thru the mic is the reason i took them back. for the price it should sound like a drive thru speaker. it could have been just my pair. i do think the price is a little high. i suppose if your going to use them with a free standing mic they would b great with the sound over all i would not recommend them. there are other headsets out that sound as good or better at a better price

I was gaming with a 5.1 high end home theater system. My wife wanted me to get some headphones for late night gaming. I reluctantly researched some headphones with all the features I wanted. These kept coming up. I now prefer using the headphone over the home theater. Why? After a few minutes you forget your wearing them. They sound better than my home theater. Yes I can tell directions of sounds even better because there are no walls for sounds to bounce off of to confuse the source. These headphones are quality and live up to the hype.

The headset is very comfortable with great audio. Love how they can connect to my phone so Im alerted when I cant hear anything around me. But there is a huge major design flaw. The headset will only connect with one console no matter how many times you try and reset the connection it will be stuck to one console. Major flaw when you game on different consoles. Have to takw them in again and exchange them for another pair since i bought a new console.

This was my first high-end headset purchase and I could not be happier with my choice. Sound quality is unbelievable, features are really cool, e.g., lowering game audio to hear party chat and vice versa. By far the most comfortable headset I have ever owned as well. Love the headband thing. I generally hate headsets where it presses too hard onto the top of your head; this headset does not do that whatsoever. Use it strictly with the Series X. Have not had any issues to mention yet.

Purchased these as a replacement for Astro A50 Wireless which had begun to cut in and out detrimentally. These started out nicely. The connection to xbox, although physically simple (as in there's nothing to do), getting them to actually connect was hit or miss, but once finally connected they were just a matter of on or off and good to go. Recently, however, they have incurred HORRIBLE stutter. I'm described by others in the party as robot voice at best, and more often they will not be able to understand me at all as my mic cuts out so frequently. On my side, I here a terrible static cutting in and out of party chat and game audio mixed up with static white noise (sort of, lack of a better word). I tried resetting them (which is, btw, a TERRIBLE design as the ear pads have to be removed to access a pin hole reset port....). That did nothing. I tried connecting to a different console. Did nothing. Removed 100% of all wifi and bt devices on the entire floor where I game. Did nothing. Changed from Windows Sonic to Stereo Uncompressed. This initially solved the problem completely. INITIALLY. Only took a few days and the same shenanigans are back. I am very disappointed in this. I've read other users on forums with similar issues. Not sure if it was an early build issue or what, but it's made my set all but unusable. When they work they really are nice with good sound and comfort. But I can't recommend these in the scenario that I have experienced. Gaming today is quite technical, even a brief lapse of audio can be detrimental to the outcome of the game and to the team.
