Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent sound quality, comfort, and long battery life of the SteelSeries Arctis 9X Wireless Gaming Headset. Many also appreciate the convenient Bluetooth functionality. However, some users experienced connection issues and others felt the price was high. A few customers also noted that the bass could be improved and the range was not optimal for all users.

These are really light and comfortable. They work very well. I think these are the best headsets we have owned. We game several hours on most evenings and I actually forget I have them on.

Playing on the one X. These head phones sound good don't get me wrong and it connects seamlessly. When connected to the xbox I get connection dropped and sound studdering every 3-5 seconds. My xbox is about a foot away on my desk so there isn't anything between interfering. I turned my wifi off and anything around me with wireless connections and even factory reset my xbox and still the same. I did update the firmware also and no change. Can't really say I can recommend these, but if you want to chance it I wish you luck that the same doesn't happen.

I love this headset, the only issue I had was the connection interfering with my router and disconnecting my headset. Good quality sound, would be better if they utilized the surround sound.

These headphones are comfortable and have great sound quality, but they are poorly designed. My 13yo daughter saved up to purchase in May and they broke in October (the piece that connects the ear cup to the band broke). It’s now January 3rd and the same piece has broken again. She is very careful with these, especially since they broke once before. Her friend has the exact same thing happen to his. They are still under warranty, fortunately, but pay attention to the reviews that are more than a year old. You’ll find that these break often.

I picked these up to see how they compare to the Xbox official headphones. The build quality is better but the sound quality is the same. Not worth the extra money.

Bought for our 13 yr old. He hasn’t had any issues with it at all. Seems to be very good quality and is working better than any wired headset he has had. Definitely a good purchase so far.

    Sound quality and disconnection issues

Regardless of the price a company that puts out a product that has average sound quality and disconnection issues gets a one star in my book. Looking at mixed reviews, I decided to give the Arctis 9x a shot. Day one I had no disconnection issues but my caving for an immersive experience was not satisfied due to the subpar sound quality and lack of surround sound that this $199.99 headset does not support. The days that followed is when the non stop disconnection issues started. While in game the audio would sound choppy and/or just cut off completely leading me to resync time after time. After trying all the troubleshooting instructions that steel series had on their website( including disabling the 2.5 Ghz WiFi) I had no luck and it was time to return the product. Other things to note that was not that big of a deal was the adjustable head strap. I just could not get the perfect fit, it either went to low or too high which lead to an uncomfortable experience after playing for a few hours. Having ears on the smaller side the ear cups strangely touched the sides of my ears which was another downside. Aside from that the build quality was good with its, I’m assuming, aluminum body design and it was pleasing to look at. I was excited for this headset but unfortunately as previously stated I returned them.

Love my new headset! Before these I was using the arctis 3, and those were great too but these are so much better!! I don’t understand why people are having connectivity issues with theirs because mine work just fine. They’re heavier than the arctis 3, they have more settings and they’re more comfortable. The mic also sounds way more crisp. My brother said it was a big difference between my previous mic and this one. For some reason it doesn’t mention it in the specs but it comes with pre set equalizers. I have mine set on bass boost. Only thing I didn’t like is that the light on the mic only turns on when it’s off.
