Your choice
||Posted . Hard time giving more than a star
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used these for two months, took some time for the head band to become comfortable as it was very tight in the beginning. Drops and reconnects were off and on, not consistent until recently. Watching a movie over the weekend on these and every couple minutes was a disconnect and reconnect, loss of sound and then the xbox sound when reconnected, had enough and returned them. Picked up the Astro A50 and realized that even the sound on the 9x was not really that good. Used the protection plan to get credit towards the Astro's, glad I did so far.

There are far better than this out there.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst headset I've ever owned. It won't stay connected, is a pain the rear to turn on and off, has constant stuttering, locks up. Just plain awful. Supposedly you can simultaneously use it with an Xbox and phone via bluetooth. I have not once gotten it to work without one side or the other disconnecting after a few minutes. The sound quality is OK, not great, and soubd blocking non existany -- definitely not better than my old Astros or equivalently priced Bose. Last SteelSeries I'll buy.

Unfortunate, terrible Wireless Connectivity
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many of the reviewers here, I was experiencing frequent brief audio disconnects when gaming on my Xbox One X. SteelSeries technical support provides a laundry-list of potential fixes, including physically relocating your Xbox, turning off either the 2.4Ghz or 5.0Ghz radio on your wireless access points, disconnecting any external hard drives from the Xbox (seriously?), moving closer to the Xbox (by rearranging all your living-room furniture; no problem, right?), burning sage and wafting the herbal smoke over the headset while reciting its FCC license backwards, etc. I would have been willing to try some of these things, but the headset massively failed in one another way: Bluetooth connectivity to my less-than-one-year-old Dell XPS 13 Windows 10 laptop. Here, too, the connectivity would be sporadic, even though I was sitting directly in front of the computer (all software, drivers, and firmware on the laptop are up-to-date). This is not 2001 -- Bluetooth is now a mature, stable technology, and I haven't had Bluetooth connectivity problems in many years. But somehow this headset fails at this most basic of tasks. I returned for a refund.

Should be much better for what they cost.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They were just okay. My son decided to “upgrade” from his Turtle Beach set when he broke them. After about a week he asked if we could return them and go back to the Turtle Beach ones.

Returned on day 2
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The initial set up and connection were simple, but the mic never worked. Sound quality was great! That was day 1... Day 2, the headset would not reconnect to the Xbox One and a green light stayed lit the whole time. We looked online and apparently this is a common issue. We exchanged it for another set (had to be delivered because they didn't have anymore in stock) and I will gladly change my rating if this 2nd set functions like it is supposed to. If not, I will be returning and never buying this brand again.

Crackling garbage
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy these. You've got a REALLY high chance of experience connection problems. Just look at the ridiculous stuff SteelSeries wants you to do to get this working: https://support.steelseries.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030068651-My-Arctis-9X-is-having-wireless-interference-issues-like-disconnecting-intermittent-clicks-What-should-I-do- I just can't believe I didn't test these out soon enough and now I'm down a huge amount of money for some crackling garbage.

Lots of issues...not worth price & aggravation
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned for approx. 3 months and having the same problems that the other reviewers are having with connectivity issues and poorly constructed. I'm writing this review to warn others to stay away from the Arctis 9X and if you do decide to buy this headset anyways, do yourself a favor and buy the Best Buy protection plan so you can bring them back when they crap out on you and get a credit to buy something else...because you will not want another one of these

Can’t hear anything
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really disappointed with this product, the chat mixer isn’t good at all. Unless I kept it 50/50 I couldn’t hear both chat and game sounds. At 50/50 it was very quiet and hard to hear. They are built sturdy and look nice but audio quality is subpar. I get louder sound from my AirPods. EQ settings that it comes with are weak and even when creating a custom EQ I couldn’t tell the difference. Going back to my Astro A50’s as those seem to be the best so far.
