Straight to business, they're great. The volume is plenty for average players. Being able to adjust the sound with the built in equalizer is what sold me. I love bass and being able to tune it to my perfection is amazing. They also feel good on my head, there's enough weight and snug to remind me I have them on but not too much where my head is heavy or squeezed. The anc isn't world breaking, it's actually pretty average. But I doubt you'll notice too much of a difference with or without it on. The microphone is also superb. I have the Sony Pulse Elite and the microphone on these compared to those is night in day. My friends instantly noticed in our party chat. Now the biggest con for me. Am not sure if it's my head shape, ear shape, ears in general, but I notice a very noticeable difference in bass from left and right. The right side has a bit more of that boom and rumble than the left. Not too much, but enough for it to bother me. Especially when I'm listening to music and I feel my right ear enjoying the bass while my left ear is just catching the after bumps. If that makes any sense. I hope it's just a me problem or my particular headset. Spending this much on a headset and having one side sound different than the other is pretty upsetting. Hopefully you do not face that issue, but regardless of that one thing. These are amazing. So many settings, great sound, and fit comfortable enough for lengthy sessions. Would recommend.

Yes, these are expensive, but they are definitely worth the cost. The DAC can be connected to a Mac or PC to modify the equalizer settings to your desired settings, plus it comes with many preset settings for many of the top gaming titles. For example, there are settings for Baldur’s Gate 3, FPS, and Footsteps, just to name a few. With the 2 batteries, you’ll never run out of power either, especially since each one spans multiple hours of gaming. Each one lasts me a few days, because I only use them a few hours each time, so I lose track of how long it’s been in. The DAC also doubles as a battery charger, so you can charge one battery while using the other. The freedom from wires is also extremely comfortable, which makes these worth the cost as well. The ski band keeps the weight of the headphones off of your head as well, though they’re light as it is. The active noise cancellation is also a wonderful feature as well, so you can game in areas that aren’t quiet and not worry about it. There are also various side tone settings as well, so you know if you’re talking louder than you need to, rather than possibly yelling in other players’ ears. They also allow you to hear your personal surroundings as well if you want. Turn off side tone and you’ll have a hard time hearing your parents or spouse. Turn it on High, and you can hear the game and your parents or spouse at the same time. Personally, I keep my side tone off, so I can hear my game but not what’s going on in the real world, because full immersion is what’s most important to me.

After buying these I finally get the hype behind pro gaming headphones. I have a Sonos home theater system which is the best sounding home theater setup I’ve heard short of pro grade installs that cost 5000k or more. And I still use these headphones especially cause I live in an apartment and I want to hear everything in my games. And these make you feel like you are in the game. True every direction sound (which honestly I didn’t think could be this good on headphones). Having an extra battery is a no brainer and you never have to lose emersion. Cause you can hot swap them and the headphone will not need to restart or turn back on. The dac works perfectly and gives you complete control of the eq. Super comfortable I wear them for up to 12hours and forget I have them on. You can use them wired as well and microphone is extremely clear. I mainly play single player games. But let me say the one multiplayer game I do play is call of duty and it sounds phenomenal. His headphones show how much time the call of duty people put into the sounds of their games. Very few games stacked up to the sound they call of duty games have. And playing online you hear literally everything I didn’t realize headphones could help out so much in competitive play.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova headset exceeded my expectations right out of the box. The build quality feels solid yet lightweight, and the adjustable headband and breathable ear cushions make it incredibly comfortable for long gaming sessions—I’ve worn it for hours without any discomfort or heat buildup. Sound quality is where the Arctis Nova really shines. The spatial audio creates a truly immersive experience, especially in FPS games where directional awareness is crucial. Bass is deep without being overwhelming, and the highs are crisp and detailed. Whether I’m gaming, watching movies, or listening to music, the audio performance is consistently impressive. The retractable microphone is crystal-clear and does a great job of cutting out background noise. Teammates have commented on how much better I sound compared to my previous headset. I also appreciate the intuitive software customization through SteelSeries GG, which allows me to tweak EQ settings and create profiles for different games. The battery life (on wireless models) is strong, easily lasting a full day of use. Overall, the Arctis Nova is a fantastic headset for gamers who want comfort, excellent sound, and reliable communication. Highly recommended for both casual and competitive players.

I tested this personally over a weekend against the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay, SteelSeries 7P, EPOS H3Pro Hybrid, Corsair Virtuoso XT, and my current Astro A50. No contest; the Nova Pro is truly unrivaled. My goal was to find something to replace the Astro A50 gen 4 because of the cumbersome nature of hooking to a PS5 that is using a 120hz TV. Long story short you have to run an optical cable for. The TV to the base station. Even then it frequently disconnects and you constantly have to unplug and plug the usb into the base station. I’ve struggled to find anything comparable audio-wise to the Astro’s for a while, but recently purchased multiple headsets to compare for my friends and myself. At the end of a weekend of testing, without getting too technical, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro won. The out of the box flat audio profile is a step up from the custom EQ I was using on the Astro’s and it was also the most comfortable of all the headsets mentioned. It’s extremely light and fits wonderfully. To hook up you just plug the included DAC into the PS5 and turn the headset on. Bingo. Done. No custom EQ needed, sounds perfect out of the box using the flat profile. Texting was initially done in Warzone with the Boost High profile in the game. Subsequent testing was done in Persona 5, Cyberpunk 2077, and Gran Turismo 7. The headset sounds absolutely incredible, honestly. The Bluetooth is seamless as well. Once paired, if you’re in a game you can listen to anything from a connected device on top of the game audio. A feature I’ve been wanting for a while. Great for when browsing around between games. Also, if you receive a call you’ll hear a faint beeping sound that is very easy on the ears. Game and chat audio is muted when you answer or make a call. The DAC included is awesome. Every option can be controlled from it seamlessly, without the need for connecting to a PC. In a league of its own here. The ANC is ok, not amazing or anything. However, when activated, the side tone of your mic sounds absolutely incredible. It’s like hearing yourself speak without a headset on. It makes it extremely comfortable to have conversation during games etc.. hard to explain but the side tone is in a league of its own compared to the other headsets tested here. In closing, this was easily chosen out of the $200-$500 group as the top choice. Worth every penny.

Best gaming headset I’ve ever had. The 3D audio has made me a more confident player when playing aggressive because of how I am able to pinpoint where the opposing player is. The sound quality is absolutely amazing. The weight of the headset is super light and comfy. One of my favorite features is the ability to exchange the batteries so that you never have to charge the headset while playing. The customizable EQ takes the sound to a whole new level and allows you to prioritize what’s important to you. For me, I play a lot of Warzone and prioritizing footsteps has literally changed my game. Yes, they are expensive but a great investment if you have the means.

I LOVE THIS HEADSET! I was a hardcore ASTRO A40 TR user for many years but grew tired of the cords and had already had a bad experience with the A50s. After doing some research I stumbled upon these and loved the idea of swappable batteries and immediately bought them. They are so comfortable, great sound quality with Dolby atmos and have essentially unlimited battery life since I can hotswap batteries within seconds even with the headset still on my head. Great buy and don't know if I'll ever go back to Astros after these ones!

    Comparison to Kracken V3 Pro

Coming from a Razer Kraken V3 I like these better for a few reasons. Sound quality and localization are very similar. I find the mic noise cancellation superior on the Steelseries. Which really helps in a noisy environment. The active noise cancellation in the headphones is far superior on the Steelseries. The sound quality doesn't really degrade with the noise cancellation turned on. With both the mic noise cancellation, as well as drowning out the outside world when listening to music, movies, and gaming. I find the Steelseries far superior. Battery life 1 - Unit comes with 2 batteries, but you are not requried to plug in the headset when your battery is dying (this is an option). Instead, the base unit charges your second battery while you are using the headset. It is a very simple change and can be done with nothing more than a short pause. The batteries last a very long time on a charge so swaps are rare. 2 - If you wear glasses as I do, you will find the ear cups don't press against the frames near as bad as other brands. These are the only ones I can use for hours without this becoming uncomfortable. 3 - The retractable mic seems very well built. I have used these daily for about 3 months. Being able to just push it up into the headset when walking around the house listening to music is a blessing. I can tell you how many mics I have lost over the years. 4 - Wireless range is good for a headset. I can get to about 50 feet with multiple walls in between before they start breaking up. Hope this helps when on the fence between this and the Kraken

I bought these headphones because my previous SteelSeries headphones were trying to reshape my ear into an impression of my hearing aid and glasses, and a review I read said the Arctis Nova Pro had super comfortable cushions. They are the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned. The cushions are extremely soft, and my head doesn't feel squeezed in a vice. I regularly wear them for hours at a time. The sound quality is superb. If the game has spatial sound, I can hear critters sneaking up on me even better than with my previous SteelSeries headphones. These are worth the upgrade. If you haven't had surround sound headphones before, you might be disappointed in the sound on a Windows PC because Windows does not include any support for it. Look in the Microsoft store for "Dolby Access". It's worth the money because when you turn on "Spatial Sound" and use "Dolby Atmos for headphones" you will get beautiful simulated surround sound. It's almost as good as the LG 9.1.5 soundbar on my TV. The only negative is the software SteelSeries wants you to install. It works well, but it kept nagging me to use features I don't need to the point where it felt like it was sending information about what I was doing with my computer back to the company. It also popped up an ad for another model of their headphones only 2 weeks after I had bought a pair. I ended up uninstalling the app, and I lost count of all the things it removed at 30. Rough guess it was around 50 little executables that were running in the background on my computer. That's just too much for my taste. YMMV

The good: Sound quality is excellent, as is positional audio with the GG software. GameDAC 2 hotswappable battery removes charging downtime. Extremely comfortable to wear for long sessions. Great range on wireless, holds signal very well. The bad: Mic quality is mediocre at best, treble requires some EQ to work through. Cost at $350 is excessive and really not worth the premium over the Arctis Nova 7s. Definitely get them on sale if possible.

This is an excellent headset with great sound, comfort, and features. One of my favorite things about this is the chat/game mixer that lets you adjust the sound of a game while reducing the sound of chat programs. Great when gaming and chatting in Discord. It's great having 2 batteries as well with one always beingnready to go fro, being charged in the deck. I gave it 4 stars because the Steel Series Sonar program that controls everything will sometimes bug out and the mixer feature won't work. You have to disconnect the usb c cable from the badk of the control deck and plug it back in to clear up issues.

Bought these for my ps5. Was using the turtle beach 700 gen 2 before these, which are great buuut… once i put these on theres just another level of audio that ive never heard before. I can pin point exactly where the enemy is. I use these for playing Call of duty: warzone mostly. They have a very long reach too. My old headphones would break up going to the kitchen which is about 15 ft line of sight. These reach to the other side of the apartment without any audio breakup. The mic is clear as day. For gaming headphones they sound great when i play back clips ive saved. They really comfortable. At first they were a little snug but loosen up once they break in. For me was the first week or so. They fact there are presets for specific games is awesome, all in the dock. The app you download to update the firmware doesnt work with the apple M1 yet; had to use my roommates older mac to update the firmware. I dont remember the versions he’s on. Bought this on sale. Was definitely worth it! My gaming experience has improved vastly! If you have the money get these!!

These are by far the best steelseries headphones I have owned. Now that being said I have owned over 10 pairs of headphones I'm very picky with my audio. These are a great gaming headset. They are not however a hi-fi headset as implied in the marketing. That doesn't mean they aren't good. Pros. Good audio for gaming casual listening Light weight Extremely comfortable Good range Best software in the business. Cons Not hi-fi in the wireless version only 48kz and it can only go to 16khz when you use the sonar software. ( Which is arguably the best reason to get these headphones) Bluetooth doesn't auto turn off when you power down headset ( make sure you turn it off after) Overall these are a great gaming headset with good audio quality. The software makes it shine by far. I think these will be my daily use for gaming and my audeze Penrose will be for my hi-fi audio needs.

This headset is fantastic. It has noise cancelling built in and the sound quality is superb. I originally bought the wired version and hated the cord and switched to this version and haven't looked back since. Battery life is great and they have a spare battery in case one dies. Only complaint is the battery charging slot. It makes it a little hard to get out cause it gets caught on the lip of it so you have to use both hands to get it out. Hoping to fix this by buying a mount for my desk so it holds it in place.

There is a reason this headset has the industry reviews they do. They're the best. They sound great for games, music, movies, all of it. The settings are numerous for all those things as well. The side by side bluetooth connection to other devices is way more helpful than it has any right to be. The mic placement is nice and being retractable is perfect. The battery system is brilliant. Having on the external controller is also a nice thing to have visually for both volume control and settings on the fly. They are also built solid. They don't feel cheap in any part of the build at all. I gave them 5 stars, even though there are some caveats. Comfort wise, I have a larger head and the strap (adjustable) digs into my scalp on longer gaming sessions. For *most* people I don't see this being an issue, and I admit they sit a little oddly on my head. The earcups MUST be replaced with after-market ones. The stock foam earcups rub the active noise cancelling mic just underneath the cup itself causing feedback/static. I had worried my new $350 headset was defective when it's actually a known issue with various models of this headset. The only solve that works 100% of the time (google/reddit are your friend here) is replacing the cups with third party ones. The set I bought are also way more comfortable than the stock pads. I slept on getting a pair of these for years and now look back regretting not having bought them sooner. You won't be disappointed.

This Headset has always caught my attention since its release.. I bought them at launch and was so upset as the ANC nubs would literally test against my ears causing too much discomfort, and comfort is most important to me, the sound, the features, were extremely impressive of course. However, I just bought the PlayStation version of these as I ordered wicked cushions to help mitigate the discomfort of the nubs.. before I swapped the ear cups I tried them on and I was shocked, what happened to the ANC nubs?! Come to find out after much research steel series redesigned the size and somewhat shape of the ANC nubs. It’s extremely comfortable with or without aftermarket ear pads and It blows every other headset I’ve tried sound wise especially out of the water! Very pleased with it and happy I decided to grab these again and give them another chance. If you’re on the fence, grab it. You won’t be sorry.
