Good sound
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son really likes and it sounds like it is clear sounds as well as blocks out the outside noise. we chose the one with the cord because of the fact we wanted to use it at school as well but you probably have guest by now he only uses it for gaming.

Excellent comfort & sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent comfort and sound (I listen with its DAC that I bought previously). Wire sometimes gets in the way but it's worth it to get the higher quality sound that you get with wire; I just loop the wire over my shoulder and it's not a problem and not distracting while gaming. Like a lot of reviewers also experienced, my first pair broke at an ear-cup hinge after one year! I don't think it's fair to blame this on SteelSeries though because this same break happened to two of my Sony headphones too, so two take-away lessons learned: 1. Hold all headphones by the head-band, not the ear-cups, when putting them on and taking them off. 2. Consider an extended warranty for any brand headphone if you don't think you'll always remember to hold them by the head-band not the ear-cups when putting on and taking off. After a lot of research (and because I already had its proprietary DAC) I bought another pair of the Arctis Pro Wired after the ear-cup broke off my first one because of the excellent comfort and sound quality.

Best gaming headphones I've owned
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While these may not be the best headphones I've ever owned, period...they are absolutely the best gaming headphones I've owned. They sound amazing, the mic works great, and they're comfortable. My only complaint is something many others probably enjoy. They block out surrounding sound a little TOO much for my taste. Personally I prefer it when they let more sound through so I can also hear what's going on around me but these do not.

Great sound quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is superb but the controls are confusing. The mute button is obscurely located which caused some embarrassment when I accidentally turned it on during a conference call. It must be good for gaming but not for meetings. Had to return.

Absolutely amazing range of sound
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Steel Series Arctis pro sound incredible and are comfortable as well. The large drivers and excellent sound range (20 hz-40k hz) make this headset stand out from the rest. The on headset controls are excellent and the mic is one of the clearest i've heard. If you are looking for a premium headset and don't want or need wireless this should be at the top of your list.

Aux problems
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the sound quality of the headphones are really good, however the microphone quality is not the greatest. A personal peev of mine with this headset is the aux cord, it is split into two cords to connect with aux so if you’re using them while moving the smallest snag will in connect them.

Arctis Pro Wired
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Look... If I didn't have a large Asian head, I would have kept these. I purchased these twice. First time I returned them was due to them being a bit to small for my head and tried another set of headphones that just didn't sound good. I then purchased another one of these and attempted to 'get used to them'. I LOVED the sound they provided, but they just don't adjust enough and the metal band dug into my scull. I had the Arctic 5 before these and the headband is different and they were very comfortable because they are larger and provide way more adjustment. The Arctis Pro's headband is smaller with less adjustment. If you don't have an oversized melon like I evidently do, you will LOVE these. The sound is amazing and I really wanted them to fit the same way the Arctis 5 did, but they just don't. Shame they don't use the same double layered headband as the Arctis 5. If they did, I would still own them. Aside from that, these are amazing and you would be hard pressed to find a better sounding gaming headset for the money. I ended up going with the Corsair Virtuoso XTs and I'm even happier with the sound they produce. Added bonus of being wireless too, but you are paying even more for them. If you want to keep it under $200 and have a standard size melon, then buy these!

Decent Headset
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I unfortunately ended up returning this headset. The build quality is very nice on the headset and the comfort and fit is amazing. But unfortunately the sound quality was just lacking for me. I got better sound from a wireles Logitech G935 and that headset is quite a bit cheaper. I did everything I could to try and get this headset to work out for me but I just couldn’t. Perhaps I just suck at mixing lol. Maybe I got one that was messed up a little? Was just really lacking on bass as well and the 7.1 surround sound barely did anything for me. I did not mess with the microphone at all but i’m sure it’s not terrible.I truly wish I could’ve wrote this headset a 5 star review cause it looks and feels like it deserves one but the sound just killed it for me. I would maybe recommend this to somebody if the headset were to be on sale.

Great Headset, The Fitting is Kind of Weird
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The audio quality is great and the interface/mixer is pretty good too. My only gripe is for long gaming sessions (5/6+ hrs) the metal band is a lil uncomfortable. But overall this is a great headset for the price and the fitting is more a personal hinderance rather than an issue with the product.

Best gaming headset I've owned
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been gaming online for about 14 years now and have been through quite a few gaming headsets. I usually get the $40 sets or have a standing microphone, but I finally got tired of having poor audio quality and my teammates asking me to repeat myself. The microphone on these is AMAZING. I can talk loudly or whisper and they hear me crystal clear. It's great to finally be able to not use the "push-to-talk" button because the microphone is so good. I wasn't expecting this, but that Dolby DTX positional whatever feature actually works! After playing Overwatch for years, I could suddenly hear exactly where people were. It was incredible! It totally caught me off guard the first couple days until I realized that it was my new headphones that were doing it. The "booms" in games like Half-Life Alyx are incredible. I have the Oculus Rift that has super crappy built-in headphones, so I just plug these in and it's completely immersive. The depth and quality of the sounds continue to amaze me. Lastly, the headband is incredibly comfortable. It distributes the weight perfectly around your head. I can play for many hours while wearing these and they feel fine the entire time. I'm super happy I finally paid for some nice gaming headphones. I couldn't recommend these more.
