Mac Needs Additional Application to Work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MAC SOLUTION: Get Joystick show (to see what the controller does), and Joystick Magic (to program it). They are in the app store. I'm new to games (BRAND new). I spent all darn day trying to figure out how to make this controller work with Elder Scrolls Online. I downloaded all kinds of programs in my search (some USB thingy, a purple program, some other do-dad). There was a $25 program the message boards wanted me to buy, and I didn't. I disabled them all when I discovered the Joystick programs. It worked like a charm. FINALLY! And it only cost $6 vs. $25. The program overrides the keyboard and mouse somehow; works along with them, actually. It was AWESOME.

Works on mac and pc
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you live in a multi OS household, this is the gamepad you will need. I have used it on a Mac while playing a game on steam and it worked wonderfully. It is also cheaper than other PC only gamepads as well.

DO NOT WAST ANY $ ON THIS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, this is the only product that has ever motivated me to write a review, it was that bad an experience. I purchased this product to play Titanfall on a PC. It is advertised as Plug and Play. I plugged it in nothing happened other than "driver installed" message. I opened Titanfall & tried to play with the controller. Nothing happened. the PC and game did not recognize ANY controller commands. I went on line, updated drivers - still NOTHING worked after the driver update. I loaded several freeware tools to enable controllers, still nothing. After 3hrs decided to give up and return the product. YOU SHOULD NOT purchase tis product at all. You will invest hours of your time and have no time to play your game.

Can't get it to work and it's unsupported.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This controller definitely is not plug and play on a PC like I've had with 2 other controllers - a logitech and a wired xbox 360 controller. My wife and I both play games on PC through Steam and emulators. We got tired of using keyboard/mice and had gift certificates to BB for Christmas. We bought this controller and a Logitech. The Logitech worked instantly on my PC playing Skyirm. My wife tried using this Steel Series controller on an emulator and it sort of worked. I tried it on my PC and found that the Steel Series website doesn't even list it or any other PC controller. To find the driver, you have to do an internet search. The driver is from 2009. So needless to say, I think Steel Series is phasing this controller out. I just tried using a wired Xbox 360 controller and as soon as I plugged it in, my wife's Windows 7 PC installed the driver and it worked flawlessly on Fall Out New Vegas. In summary, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but even after installing the driver a few times for this controller, I can't get it to work as easily as a Logitech or wired Xbox 360 controller. I would recommend going with either of those 2 options if you're in the market for a PC controller.

Absolutely Sucks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thinking I could use it on my computer since, you know, it's for PC and Mac. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! This has been the biggest waste of time and money. Despite it being cheap it will never be worth it. Who the freak has the top button defaulted as "1"?! I will never purchase a steelseries ANYTHING because of how awful this controller is. Seriously, what in the world were people thinking when they made this garbage? I'm absolutely appauled at the stupidity of steelseries for this product.

"You get what you pay for."
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."SteelSeries - Gaming Pad for PC and Mac" broke after only having it for a month. The knob on the right-side broke. It was never sat on, and I was always easy on it. And if I recommended it too a friend we wouldn't be friends anymore. When you buy Junk-That's-What-You-Get.

Very good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start by saying that I'm a classic gamer from back in the day since the 1990's. I bought this controller last year because I needed more USB gamepads and I found this one. I looked at it and decided it was worth a try. I then began using this one as my main controller. I love my Gravis Gamepad Pro USB controller and that Gravis controller has been highly coveted among people who play 8-bit and 16-bit retro games through emulators from the late 1990's through the middle 2000's. As much as I like my Gravis Gamepad Pro, I stopped using it even though it's in good condition and it's because of this Steelseries USB gamepad. It feels like it's made well and I totally dominate everyone when I play against them in a game of Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition in MAME.

Decent quality but..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not Windows 8 compatible. At all. Tried downloading some other software to basically hack the controller driver, it makes it even more difficult to play games via Steam. You windows 7 users are lucky.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I still haven't found an emulator that works with it. Save yourself the time, and buy a Logitech or an official Xbox 360 controller. This should not even be sold anymore. It sucks for compatibility.

Makes me feel like a stroke victim
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can't use it without an emulator. It's worthless. All the left side stuff works fine after a lot of messing around with settings and emulators and stuff. The right side still has some sort of palsy. Just get an Xbox or Logitech instead. Excellent rating on durability is based on the fact that since you can't use it, it should last quite awhile before it wears out.

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its cheaply made and the company that made it stopped supporting the controller about five years ago. So if you have any problems good luck. Bought it so I could play Castle Crashers on my Mac.
