Customers are positive about the addicting gameplay, ease of use, and charming music and characters in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. An Almost 1 for 1 Remake of the GBA Game

If you've played the original Friends of Mineral Town, this is almost a perfect remake of that, with all its flaws and barely any fixes.
If you're new to the farming sim genre with Stardew Valley as your first game, this game feels like a bit of a step back from that, but it's ultimately a great game and this was the inspiration for Stardew Valley.

Whether you're familiar with the Harvest Moon series or a newcomer (like myself), there's much to like here with Friends of Mineral Town. While at its core it's simple and formulaic, one can't deny its charming aesthetic and general appeal.
If you're looking for a deep farming sim, you'll likely want to try something else, but if you're after something easygoing and pleasant, look no further.

It's a charming remake! I never played the original, so I didn't have the nostalgia like most people did, but I still liked the game. The graphics are cute and the gameplay is your classic Harvest Moon styled farming game. Honestly gameplay wise, it's not quite as good as Stardew Valley, but it's still worth trying out!

If you played this game on the DS then this is it for you! It’s just like the Harvest Moon series and it brings back great memories ! I also got the Pink cow without preordering I just went into the store and it was packaged up with the cow ! So it was a bonus I didn’t even know I was getting when walking in! Great, relaxing one player farming game!

I love this series in the first place, so I really enjoyed it. The art is very cute and the credits roll when you marry someone, but the game will go on in years basically forever. If you’re trying to 100% you will have to play I think 50 years at least to collect one of the gems. But in staying home times, it’s a great way to pass the time.

I LOVE THIS GAME! I was lucky enough to get the last one in stock at my nearest BestBuy thanks to some wonderful employees who helped me that day! I love how easy and just relaxing this whole farming simulator game is! I’m absolutely hooked! I highly recommend for anyone who’s new to the gaming community and just enjoys nice easy games!

The graphics are cute and the game itself is fun to play. Really disappointed there was no promotional little stuffed cow with this. The mention of it has also been removed from the site. Curious. I have seen several mentions in the reviews that the promotional item was only available for in store pick up of the game, which wasn't mentioned when placing the pre-order on the site...huh. Would have given this a better review if I had been at least notified that there was a condition attached to receiving the promotional item. I just spoke with someone from Best Buy and if it's not listed on your order, you will not receive it, even if the site says you will if you pre-order. I guess lesson learned. Just because this site says you will receive a promotional item, unless you insure it's listed on your order, no you won't.

The game is fantastic and a glow up from the gba version. It’s a great game that everyone should buy and play! This was one of the first games I ever played as a kid and that was mine, so I was insanely excited to see this and the pre order bonus! I’d gotten animal crossing new horizons from here as well and have the cute bell bag which I went in to pick up before things got worse, so when I look on their website and it says that the pre order bonus will be included via online pre order, I’m thinking great! My family doesn’t want us to go to a store because you know, COVID. I get the package and I’m super excited only to open it and see my game and a 60$ gift card for hello fresh. And I’m insanely confused. Then I found out that it was apparently mainly pick up only. I already have hello fresh and don’t need this at all but the fact they gave me this because they know they messed up. Make it clear online. I’m not pre ordering from Best Buy again, people can’t go outside as much anymore. Treat your online buyers as well with what you promised them.

Ive been a big Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons fan ever since the n64 game so I was really excited for this remake of FoMT. Its got an adorable art update, updated graphics and new dialogs to make things fun! Its great if you love relaxing farming games / slice of life games that have goals you can work towards with you own pace.

I’m a huge fan of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, and played the original FOMT a ton. This is a great update! My only complaint is that it’s honestly a bit too easy—some of the challenges, like potentially losing your livestock to wild animals, have been removed. Other than that, it’s a really fun game.

Amazing take on a classic I loved growing up with. This may not be as true to the original as some fans may like but I do believe it would be an enjoyable game for anyone who likes relaxed faming, light exploration, and story. The new art is lovely and the music and characters are charming.

I feel like every time I play, I’m competing with how I did the previous day. Plus, my kid and I made a competition out of who could get all of the animals first.
It’s such a relaxing game. I’d recommend this for people who want something to pass the time and enjoy watching their animals and crops grow.

Good but not Outstanding for an HM Game

It’s a decent Harvest Moon game with some nice added features. You can choose to play as a boy or girl with two variations of each with an option to change skin tone. You also can play on easy or normal with easy being you start off with more money and leveling up friendships is easier and faster. All the characters are cute though they are all in “chibi” form. The harvesting and fishing are a lot easier and faster to do. Now the drawbacks for this one is the time goes by twice as fast as the usual harvest moon game. It can get annoying to try to get to a store before it closes because a few close around 4pm. Another slight drawback is the background music and lack of character sounds. They don’t actually talk but there is no chime of exclamation sound. The game can at times sound kind of flat. Though there were a lot more scenes to trigger to make the story more interesting: It may not be the best HM game but for a leisure game it’s not bad. If you have played HM games before then this is just another one to consume for the different characters.

This game was made with so much love! They put so much details into it and if you ever played the original Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town, it's reliving a classic. The music has been revamped and it honestly puts me back to those days I would spend hours playing on the GBA.

This game is great if you've gotten bored of Animal Crossing or if you're craving the Animal Crossing style of gameplay. This game is mostly farming themed and has a lot of cute characters/artwork, so if you're into that stuff then you should definitely give this game a try!

Friends of mineral town is one of the best of the series. You farm, raise animals, explore, fish, and make friends. You meet the love of your life and can even have a kid. It doesn't have deep plot, but it's fun getting to know everyone in the town.

This game is just like the old version! There are a few design tweaks and additional characters but the game still has that same Harvest Moon feel! It’s relaxing and a lot of fun, especially if you like games like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing!
