Customers are saying

Customers commend the fun and engaging core gameplay, highlighting the enjoyable class system and the attractive steelbook packaging. However, some find the story underwhelming and the difficulty challenging, with a few noting that the dialogue could be improved. Overall, the positive feedback on the gameplay mechanics seems to outweigh the criticisms of other aspects.

If you like Final Fantasy, you will like this game. If you like Dark Souls (anything from them), you'll enjoy this game. I'm playing on hard, and it's hard! I love that they include hints in both the levels and music to other final fantasy games. I've come across several so far. The game's dialog isn't cheesy but it also doesn't take itself that serious, which works in this games favor. My biggest complaint right now...the visuals. I'm playing on a PS5. HDR looks awful. I bumped the brightness up to 75 in the game and it helped a little. Some people say to disable HDR but I found the game to look full. If I want to play in performance mode....it changes the resolution to 1080p and claims to be 60fps. I can't tell you it doesn't hold that. I ended up playing in resolution mode which isn't that much different and looks way better. I have an LG E8 oled so it's not my TV that's the issue. I play all my games in performance mode usually. There's a lot of great things that you'll like about this game. I just can't stress how bad the visuals are. The only thing worse looking lately is Babylon's Fall...ironically another SE game in 2022. You'll really enjoy the game if you like FF or DS, but don't show your PS5 off with this one to friends.

This game has become a meme long before it came out, and the story and main characters are bafflingly bland and oftentimes awful. But the gameplay and the design harkens back to the Nioh series and is tight, fun and rewarding in a way that takes you by surprise. The narrative may be clumsy but the minute to minute gameplay is shockingly good and fulfilling.

SOPFFO is a action role playing game in the spirit of Nioh. You select a mission from a map and there are no towns you can freely visit. Gameplay revolves around you going through a semi-linear path defeating enemies until you reach a boss or the end. Combat is deeper than it first appears — this is not a button masher. You just block, parry and time your hits accordingly. There is a robust combo system integrated into the jobs. Precise button inputs are required. The job system allows you to have any two jobs equipped at a time and you can switch on the fly on the battlefield - enabling even more devastating combos. The core gameplay is fun, however it can get repetitive. I’m addition, the presentation is really hit or miss. Some of the cutscenes and textures during gameplay honestly look like hot garbage. You can enjoy the entire game co-op online. With matchmaking or with friends. Your friends must be at the same spot as you or the mission will be locked out from them. As a final fantasy fan I am enjoying my time with this game. Seeing characters and using jobs from the FF universe in this style has been a blast for me. Final Fantasy fans will get more out of this game. Score: 3.0-3.5 as a game 3.5-4.0 if you’re a fan of the FF series

This game is a meme. Only get it on sale and you want to punish yourself with more Final Fantasy grindy type of games. I feel like this could've been an arcade beat em up.

This game needed more time, it feels rushed, the combat is very fun, but some of the games mechanics are broken. The performance for a PS5 is bad at times for a game that looks like a 360 game, There's plenty of game here, in the form of grinding, the story is ok, nice twist.

The story to this game is, without a doubt, simply hilarious. I cannot tell if it's self-aware in its madness, but regardless it is entertaining. Thankfully, the gameplay is pretty solid, though it can be easy to find a single strategy or combo to overcome battles and stick with it for hours.

Stranger of Paradise has become a bit of a meme due to the videos of campy dialogue spread throughout social media, but under all of that is a game with excellent action combat, probably one of the best action RPG combat systems in years. Give it a shot if you're on the fence. The gameplay won't let you down.

An ok game with cringe characters and bad writing, but where it sits in the Final Fantasy universe its relation to FF1 is cool.

Strange, but fun game. Best to run the game through with someone else instead of random people. Probably best if you have knowledge of Final Fantasy 1 as this is a prequel. Story is bad otherwise.

You will find Chaos here. This is not a mainline final fantasy game, but this was a fantastic game for the PS5. I enjoyed every minute of this ride. Endgame content was whatever. But playing through the story I enjoyed every moment of it. Boss fights were interesting and having multiple classes to pick from you have so many options.
