suction cups work fine if not dash cover is used

Good suction...if used on the right surface

My first two attempts using this accessory with my go pro camera were on a kayak and a standup paddle board with somewhat rigid/bumpy surfaces. After a few minutes of use the suction cup lost its grip. When I later tried it on a totally smooth surface I had no problems at all.

Yeah it holds tight, and the only reason we purchased this one was because of the stipulations in the GoPro warranty. Would I have been happier if it had cost 15 bucks, definitely, but overall knowing that if the GoPro falls off this it's covered under their warranty I guess it's worth the money.
