I bought this outside of Denver as my wife and I were heading to the Rocky Mountain National Park. I realized that I had left my tripod at home by mistake. This purchase actually turned out well and I prefer it over my original. It's not fancy but my camera is a small mirrorless so it doesn't need to be bulky. I'm not a professional so this little unit works just fine for my static shots.

I've had a cheapo tripod that I've been trying to make it work. But literally the tipping point was when I paired my Nikon D7100 with a new Sigma 18-35mm Art lens (all purchased from Best Buy). It was way too heavy for my old tripod. This new Sunpak tripod did the trick! It can handle the weight and night/day difference with regards to ease of composition. Camera can now be tilted and moved very easily. I can't recommend this enough. Buy It!

This is the first tripod I've bought for my cannon rebel T1i and it is amazing! I brought it to a family function and people were impressed. My sister bought one the very next day for her Nikon( dont know model number but she does not have removable lens) so the compatibility with different brands and models is also a plus. Buy with confidence! You will not regret it.

This is THE tripod to get at the starter level. it's solid enough to travel around a bit, and doesn't suffer from inferior plastic parts like some of the lwoer priced tripods. The pistol grip head allows for a crazy range of motion, and is strong enough to support my D3100 with a large 18-200mm zoom and a flash with lightbox. It is also slightly taller than the rest, which makes for better family photos.
If I lose it, or break it, I'm buying another.

The bestbuy gent had one of these and recommended to me. I am an amateur photographer and just wanted something with a little flexibility for family photos or shots I deemed interesting.
Easy to install my camera on - easy to take off as well. I like the pistol grip and ability to get different angles if the sunlight or building is in the way or creating an issue.
Works great!

It's light, easy to move around for different shots and angles, however for tracking/paning movement it is not smooth for that. So unless this is used for studio video or simple photo shoots this works really great. The pistol grip works amazing for small increments of movement.
