Overall the tripod is sturdy. Only two complaints come to mind right now and they are 1. The pistol grip movement is easy to use but not very stable especially for powerful scopes and 2. the elevation adjust by use of a hand crank is clunky and wobbly. Still overall very good for a relatively cheap tripod that isnt made of titanium.

A Solid Tripod for the Money

I purchased this Sunpak PlatinumPlus tripod to replace an old all-metal tripod that was becoming harder to use due to kinks in the metal. I like the sturdiness yet light weight of the Sunpak over my old model works well with my Nikon D7200. In addition, the low price was excellent. It's a good choice for a non-professional grade tripod.

I coach multiple sports and use this tripod to video football, basketball, and lacrosse. I think that is important to note because of the speed in which the camera needs to be moved and in a steady motion. This camera allows for any and every angle with a quick squeeze of the gun grip. It's one of the best tripods I have ever used.

Pistol grip handle makes locking in on a certain position and quickly moving to another extremely easy. However, consistently level panning is not an option with this tripod. Attachment to camera seems to be extremely short, makes you worry that camera may fall if not held constantly.

Amazing tripod especially for the price. Has everything you need for DSLR filming and holds up a very heavy camera.

I really liked the tripod. It works well and relatively easily. My only complaint is that the rotating head only collapses to the side in one direction, and that's sometimes not convenient to the direction I'd like it to go (I thought it would collapse in all directions). But that said, it works well and it's a good value for the price.

I wanted a second tripod to put in my second vehicle so I wouldn't have to transfer the old one all of the time. This tripod is pretty stable and works fine. I still have not gotten used to the way you rotate the camera from horizontal to vertical, but I have only used the tripod a couple of times.

Very sturdy and when the camera is mounted I like how I can move the camera in almost every angel and not worry it will fall off. And the pistol grip makes it easy to re-position. And to elevate it high by just the turn of the crank and by the turn of the ring on the poll it secures it so it won't roll down.

It works well out of the box and is very adjustable. However, the trigger mechanism in the head, while convenient, doesn't seem extremely durable to me. I am curious to see how it holds up. Lets are sturdy and easy to set up.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter who is taking her photography from a novice level to a more professional level. She was in a need of a tripod for taking certain types of pictures. This seemed to be the best solution. It was at a reasonable price, was able to extend to the height she wanted and is very stable at all height adjustments.

I use this tripod for taking photos and videos at emergency sites for the newspaper. I am a freelance photographer and I am very pleased how I can set this up and get started asap. Because the early bird gets the worm in this business it helps with the ease of set up. Very pleased.

I like everything about this tripod. Don't let the low price fool ya, it is very sturdy, legs lock secure and the level bubbles on the body and the head seem to be very accurate. The pistol grip at the head of the tripod is great, it makes maneuvering the camera very easy and as soon as you release the grip it is locked in.

I like that this tripod doesn't make a noise while I'm filming. Easy to use, just push the button and turn any direction - takes seconds, also it's stable and pretty light. But if the tripod could have some kind of soft handle to prevent hand from getting cold during a winter - that'd be great. In general I'm satisfied. Good product for the money.

Very lightweight, you can attach to a backpack and forget about it. My favorite part is the pistol grip style handle. Makes adjusting so much easier when speed is important. Especially with heavier lens.

Great Buy, I would recommend this to anyone shooting still video for teaching. The Tripod had features that I wasn't aware of until the salesman gave me an overview. Just wanted something to hold my camera and received something extra. I highly suggest this buy or one in its generation by this company.
