I have owned more tripods than I can remember over the 40 years of professional photography and I rate this Sunpak PlatinumPlus Ultra 6000PG tripod as on of best for the price. Self-leveling rubber feet, Oversize flip-lever leg locks, Adjustable height from 24" to 61" and the unique Pistol-grip ball head, make this a winner for any photographer pro to armature. Another plus is the light weight

Decided to take this stand on a road trip from California to Florida and let me say, terrain does not matter. It will stand in the dirt, rocky terrain, sand, grass, almost about anything! It raises to a fair height. Super durable. And very nice design. You get your momeys worth!

Pistol Grip for Panning is Pretty Tight

I bought this tripod (my third!) specifically to record my kids' plays, and I'm using it with a nice Sony 4K camera. My other tripods have never panned back and forth well, so I wanted something more fluid and less jumpy. The pistol-grip style is generally better for panning and produces a more consistent movement, but you'll need to have a firm and long grip if you're going to be panning around a lot. I think for most people, this grip is just too tight for consistently fluid movement. Otherwise, this has been a good tripod and I have no complaints. So I guess I'll keep looking for a better tripod, but this will do until I find it.

The tripod is very sturdy and durable, yet light weight. There is an "easy release" option that makes it super easy to take the camera off the tripod in one quick motion, and then put it back on when you're done.

Since buying my first camera, I was looking for a stand that was not a lot of money. I have only used the stand once but seems to suit my needs. It would have been nice if it had a bag for it, hence the 4 stars.

This tripod is awesome for my Sony a6000 but will use it with my rifle. It is light, I can strap it on my backpack. Leveling bulb, pistol grip, and you cannot attach it to the action mount by sunpak as well.

This is a mid level tripod that I'm using to hold an outdoor projector for movie nights with the kids. It works great and very stable. I love the grip to realign the projector.

Great tripod for when you are on the move. Very sturdy and lightweight. The trigger handle was a little awkward to get used to, but becomes very manageable after some practice.

This was a replacement for my last tripod which broke. So far I have really liked it. I use it at sporting events and to take pictures of son. The pistol grip comes in handy for quick positional changes.

Didn’t expect too much from this inexpensive tripod. And I have to say that I am surprised how sturdy this is. Materials are of quality and well designed. I use this for my canon R10 and it’s a little pricey but I don’t feel as if this tripod will fall over or break. You can easily break down to store under the bed or put inside a closet. For the price it was a great value 100%.

This is a good tripod for the price. I put a pretty heavy load on it -- large camera and 600 mm lens -- and with proper tightening it held up even at an extreme angle.
