Poor Quality Product / Zero Customer Service

Defective right out of the box. it took over 10 days of daily phone calls and emails to Tocad/Sunpack to get a response. At first it seemed hopeful that they would send a replacement part but it turned out to be a hollow promise. 20 days later and still no part. Contact them again and they take another week to tell me that part was sent. Baloney! This is going back to the store and I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. Hope that you do not have to experience what I did. Sunpack used to be value leader but now they just are slapping their name on junk and not standing behind it. I suggest you look at Manfroto. They may seem like more money but in the end the Sunpack will cost you far more.

    Stripped Screw Out of Box

Hopefully my issue is an isolated one, but when I opened the box, the connecting piece fell right off. I assumed it just came this way and tried to install it back on. There is a bolt (and there was no tool to fit it properly) that would go in and not tighten. If I use this, I will surely break my camera sooner or later by this top part falling off (it comes off completely with just the slightest bit of force). Not happy, taking it back for a replacement.

    Pistol grip is horrible

We had this tripod at work and the pistol grip is a horrible feature. With this design, you cannot simply tip the camera up or down or pan right or left without releasing the swivel ball mount, which lets the camera move in any direction, including tilt. This makes it impossible to smoothly pan while keeping the camera level. I prefer (and recommend) tripods with separate controls for each direction.

Bought 2 of these tripods. Both have the same problems. Very loose and the camera will wobble. The little wrench in the box does not fit the screw to tighten the tripod. I used the correct size wrench and the bolt will not tighten. A complete waste of money if you want reliability and performance. Very poor direction for use also.

Purchased NEW and received the tripod with NO mounting platform/plate to attach to the camera. Sunpak doesn't seem to make a replacement part, nor are there any standard replacements for it. Without the mounting plate, the tripod is USELESS

The tri-pod was returned the next day. The tri-pod fell apart right out of the box. The head where the camera mounts has a spring loaded detent pin and this is what came apart. Product was returned and I purchased another tri-pod.

I bought this tripod because it was inexpensive. Used it one time for a few shots and took it back. Very flimsy and the pistol type grip is...well just junk. I do not recommend this tripod to anyone, especially a friend.

I purchased this to use with a Nikon D7000 and an external flash. The Pistol-grip ball head will not hold the camera up when you turn it vertical. I will be returning it for a refund.

I bought this to take pictures at racetrack and it was pretty short. I guess it would work better with a seat but I didn’t like it so I returned it

This tripod is poorly built. The knob you turn to adjust the height was stripped. A friend also has the same tripod and the camera will stay level when screwed onto the tripod on hers.

I bought this tri-pod on recommendation from a Best Buy Employee and it might be OK for a point and shoot camera, but it would not even attempt to work with my Nikon D750.

I wanted to use it to be able to pan with my digital camera recording HD Video. The head is too shaky to do that. Was very disapointed.

Gives the illusion of premium but sadly it's just poor engineering. Save you money and buy something that doesn't fall apart on you.

This tripod isn't worth $5.00. It lasted a whole week before it stopped working correctly. Sunpak's quality has went to the bottom.
