Well, it is heavy I'll give you that! You would think that heavy equals sturdy. That is where you may be wrong. Once I mounted my camera with a telephoto lens and the adjustments could not tighten enough to hold it steady. It would slowly tip down. Also I could not secure the pan adjustment at all. Needing to be able to hold steady for long exposure shots, simplly not possible. Heading back in the AM, this one is not for me.

This is a very good tripod for the money. The unipod is a very nice touch and comes in handy being incorporated in the tripod. A couple of problems: a) the bubble level is not the best quality and is not located in a good place. b) the carry handle has a plastic piece that snaps to the inside (underside) of the handle and it tends to come loose often depending on how the carry handle gets moved around. Otherwise, I like it.

I had it for little over a month. The ballhead wobbles. It's hard to keep the tripod steady. The grip on one of the legs fails, so one segment of the legs keeps sliding down. I got the tripod because I am tall and don't want to bend down to look into the viewfinder. Because of that leg, it doesn't work the same way any longer. It's my second and last Sunpak. The first one's leg fell off after less than six months.

I chose this Tri-pod over others because it extended longer than most all others. It’s fairly sturdy and easy to raise and lower. Could use some clearer instructions. Needs a more sturdy iPhone handler. This part broke off of mine the second time it was used with an iPhone.

It is a little heavy to carry around attached to your bag. I would suggest taking it out of the box and trying the legs before you buy it. I had to return my first one and the one I was going to exchange it with was also had the same issue. One of the clasps that lock the leg in place when extended didn't work. The third one did work. I would buy this again. But I think for travel I will get something a bit smaller and light weight.

I had bought this after checking the other models and this one turn out the best. It has everything, all in one. It's smooth and light enough yet strong. Soft grip and the monopod is easy to use and easiely removed for easy access on hand help shots. It can go really high too. Fits in a carry on bag!!! I lost this in one of my trips but I love it so much I bought it again. I wish I came with a bag but I'm sure people can improvise.

    Good Features but Not Smooth

This tripod has good features. It is tall with 3 three-segment foam wrapped legs, a carrying handle and the middle section can be removed and used as a monopod. Great for still photos, stationary video and shots over crowds. However, the only drawback is that the tilt & pan movement with the camera attached sticks and is jerky - not smooth - which causes jerky video.

I wasn’t sure what to get, as this was my first tripod. I looked at a bunch of them, opened them up and played with them in the store. I decided on this one, and I can say this was an outstanding purchase. I’ve been so pleased with the versatility from height adjustments, to going with the single leg option. Super happy with this product.

I purchased this tripod on a whim. I needed a tripod but was not being picky to care about features but I'm glad I got it. The legs are fairly thick and sturdy. I hate tripods that have those tiny legs. It has a good height to it as well and can be converted to a monopod. I like the padded upper legs and it has a handle. Not the best tripod money can buy but if you don't want to spend a lot get this one.

This tripod is more sturdy than others that I checked out in this price range. It can be used as a monopod as well. It does have its limitations. If you want a sturdy tripod for every day shooting, this one will do just fine. If you are looking for a tripod that will allow you to take photos from a super low perspective you will need to part with a bit more money for one designed for that type of use.

Stays stable with a light (or counter weighted payload). However, it is a little difficult to use and manuever, as the stiction of the mechanisms is either too much, or too little (ie, not extremely precise). However, the monopod is awesome, as it is absolutely easy to use (by definition). Overall, the unit is light weight, and easy to carry, either in a bag, or by itself. For camera and small binocular use, it is more than adequate.

I purchased this tripod to hold up a T5i for video. It works great, but the panhandle will strip the threads. The metal is very soft. The plastic piece that holds the nut in is not glued in that well. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent out a new panhandle for the unit, no questions asked. If they fix this soft metal issue, this can be a great tripod. But for what I paid for it, it's not worth it IMO.

I purchased this tripod to replace an older unit. So far this tripod is an excellent product for the money. It is a sturdy unit with two levels to assure a perfect setup. The unit includes two attachments to hold either a cell phone or a Go Pro camera. Unit also can be configured as a monopod.

Just depends what kind of equipment and work you are wanting to use it for. It was too cheap for me in quality and I didn't feel comfortable enough it holding my gear while shooting a wedding. But if just while out with the family with a smaller camera (not as heavy) then would be perfect

This is a good tripod for the price and availablility. As photography starts to become more accessible in less artistic formats, the availablility of accessories, especially locally has become quite limited. Having a national retail chain that can provide some of the needed accessories is nice. Sunpak makes pretty good products and has been around for some time, this tripod is no exception. I have not found any notable problems yet.

    Horrible Quality

I received this tripod as a gift. Right after I opened in I decided to try it out. I attached my camera and everything seemed great until I went to hold the tripod by the handle. The handle snapped and luckily I was able to catch it before my camera hit the ground. I only had a 50mm lens attached to my camera which hardly weighs anything. I will be returning this product and will not be taking the risk or exchanging if for the same brand.

I am very happy with this tripod. I am always willing to spend extra on items if they have good reviews so I was prepared to spend. Fortunately this item had great reviews and was also on sale. The built-in levels are an added bonus. One thing I’m not too happy about is the fact it doesn’t come with a case or bag. I’ve seen cheaper tripods come with them.

This is to replace my older version of this exact tripod. The old one was heavier in the legs, which is important in the wind. I was a little disappointed that the new version is much lighter and the shoe is a little gimpy. I shoot mainly sports with this and really liked the heavier version better but my arm broke off from a large gust of wind. So this new version worries me but i hope it makes it.

I really like the tripod I like the way that you can set the camera at different angles and heights. I own the Canon 60D and it's very heavy and it can support the camera without fear dropping it. Another thing I really like is the levels, It tells you if one of the legs are are not level. It takes a little bit to adjust but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy and for the price I really like this tripod.

fairly solid construction but a bit bulky. The head is adequate to hold the camera firmly stationery. I'm 6' 4"" tall so I like the height. The monopod stages twist lock with friction kind of like an adjustable curtain rod. This can be awkward to lock and unlock. Considering the price, I am pleased with the purchase. Although, I am certain that as I get more into photography, I will need to upgrade.
