This tripod is much sturdier than many others I've checked out, while also being easy to adjust. I definitely like the height it can reach as well. I would recommend this tripod!

Bought this to have a tripod for kids' performances, sporting events, and family photos. It has performed well in the first couple months I've owned it. A good tripod for the casual user.

The functions of this tripod are fantastic for someone interested in cinematic video or simple video production. As a film student with carpal tunnel, this is the easiest and most functional tripod you could buy for under $100. The only problem is the clips on the legs that keep it extended. The first tripod of this model I bought did not latch properly so it fell down as the legs could not stay at the height I set. The second one seems a little weak as far as the latches for the legs but has yet to fall. I haven't been able to wear it in yet to see if that problem would be a recurring problem.

The tripod is very practical and useful, it provides incredible stability when using the camera, the same in video or in photos. It can be adapted to different heights and has the possibility of adjusting through a level so that the position of the camera is perfectly straight. It's wonderful, I recommend it 100 percent.

I used it with my 650-1300 and a 2x extender to3900mm, which is approximately 2 feet long and it held it stable for the shot using a cable release. I love it.

The tripod is very handy with the pull out mono pod, but it is heavy when added to all my other gear. So if weight is an issue this is not the unit I would pick.

I used this to mount a gopro and take multiple shots to make panos, and it worked just fine. Not sure about a large SLR as this is a light weight tripod.

I like the height/length that this tripod can get to. It is very stable when at its full extension. The handle and two bubble levels are nice if needed. I do like the ability for it to break down into a monopole/monopod for that type of stability in quick set ups. I also like the quick release from the tripod to hand held mode with the camera. Great design. Great product.

One of the BEST TRIPOD/MONOPOD COMBOS AROUND!

I have used about every brand and style of tripod/monopod available over the last 45+years. To make a long history of comparisons short, let me say that in my opinion, the SUNPAK PLATINUM PLUS ULTRA SERIES IS ONE OF THE BEST TRIPOD/MONOPOD COMBOS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM ANY MANUFACTURER ANYWHERE..BAR NONE..!! My reasons are simple,,.1st there are bubble levels on both the tripod AND the quick release head;2nd, each of the tripod's three 3 section legs are made from high quality light weight aluminum each with three sets of easy to open/close locks; AND 3rd, SUNPAK warrantees each PLATINUM PLUS ULTRA series tripod with a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY (BTW, in all my years of ownership of 4 different models of SUNPAK tripods,I've only had to make use of their warranty once...,,and it was NOT DUE TO A MANUFACTURER ISSUE but a failure due my error !!) SUNPAK replaced my tripod in total and WITHOUT QUESTION. I wish every MANUFACTURER handled their warranty issues as well and as COURTEOUSLY as DID SUNPAK. If you are in the market for a EXTREMELY WELL DESIGNED AND BUILT TRIPOD FROM A EXCELLENT MANUFACTURER THAT FIRMLY STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT LINE THAT IS SOLD BY A COMPANY THAT DOES LIKEWISE(BEST BUY), THEN in my opinion, you CANNOT AND WILL NOT GO WRONG buying a SUNPAK PLATINUM PLUS ULTRA 7000 TM TRIPOD/MONOPOD COMBINATION. This is my second one and I'M JUST AS PLEASED WITH THIS ONE AS MY FIRST...Try it..you'll LIKE IT. foolishfotoshooter

I purchased this tripod to hold up a T5i for video. It works great, but the panhandle will strip the threads. The metal is very soft. The plastic piece that holds the nut in is not glued in that well. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent out a new panhandle for the unit, no questions asked. If they fix this soft metal issue, this can be a great tripod. But for what I paid for it, it's not worth it IMO.
