Customers frequently mention the sturdiness, lightweight design, and reasonable price of the PlatinumPlus Ultra 7000 tripod and monopod as significant advantages. The included monopod is also a popular feature. However, some users have noted that the panning mechanism could be smoother and that the construction feels somewhat less robust than expected. A few customers also found the tripod's size to be a drawback for portability.

Light-weight and durable. Convenient when you just want a monopod for shooting. OK with a lighter camera but a little under-whelming for a heavier video camera. Definitely a light duty tripod. Mono pod has a tendancy to loosen up in the tripod after repeated use and must be retightened frequently.

If you are not a TV channel, you don't want to pay thousands of dollars in a professional hydraulic head tripod. But you still want a good and dependable tripod.
This is a great option! It is cheap, light weight and still does a great work with handcam and médium size cameras. This is NOT for professional médium to heavy cameras.
I use it with my Sony handcam and it gives me smooth movements and steady image!
If I don't have space to open its 3 legs, I can take the monopod axis from inside it and have steady image with really fast change of place/position.
So, if you need an affordable and dependable tripod for home / semi-professional use, this is a great option! And if you are a really good professional, you may use it wisely and get good results as well!
By the way, I recommend it for digital small photo cameras and vídeo handcams.

This tripod replaces a couple of tripod that disappeared during a move. The 2 in 1 tripod was a great value especially if you can grab one on sale. The tripod is sturdy but not heavy, making it useful for backpacking and hiking. The 2 in 1 aspect is great for outdoor activities.

Just OK, it extends higher than most tri-pods

It is OK for the price. This is similar to several other Tri-pods of similar size and price which I have owned and used in the past. Keep in mind, any tripod becomes less rigid (more wobble) when fully extended to its maximum height, so consider buying a tri-pod which extends taller than you need.
Last minute purchase, made in person at the local Best Buy store. I needed a tripod which could extend to >65" so there were limited choices in stock at the store. There were no tripods on display, just sealed boxes, and prices were not clearly marked, so I grabbed this one based on the description and photos on the box.

This tripod is great for letting take night shots, it holds my camera still and keeps it steady so I get clear shots. I have a friend who is professional photographer and she bought the same tripod. Her camera and lens is approx. 11 pounds and this tripod had no problems holding her equipment so I knew it would work well with my 3-4 pounds camera and lens. If a professional is using it and suggested it, then I felt pretty good buying it. I'm happy with my purchase.

Nice simple lightweight compact tripod for when you walk a good ways, does the job when you need it, anything heavier and better you're less likely to want to take with you.

Always room for improvement,
The only little problem I have experienced is that if I am not careful about clicking the leg clamps shut just right, it appears that it is locked but then still allows it to slide. Other than that, it is light enough to tack onto my camera bag, and tote with me. The telescoping selfy pole, or mono pod, is a handy feature for all those angles that you just can't seem to reach!

This is the first tripod that I have ever owned. I use it for a variety of landscape shots. I have been impressed with how durable it is considering the light weight. Being able to convert to a monopod is nice as well. Over all very satisfied.

I am not a professional photographer but know when an item feels cheaply made or if it was made with quality material. This tripod feels sturdy to me. My previous one had cheap plastic connections which lead to it's demise. Too many pieces breaking! This tripod looks AND feels way better! Have used it several times and am impressed with it's weight and ease of adjustments.

This tripod features quick disconnect mounting plate for rapid, secure mounting and fast removal of the camera to the tripod header. When fully extended the tripod is reasonably stable. It is fairly light easy to carry. The feel on the vertical adjustment handle is a bit stiff but overall fine to use. I am using this successfully with a heavy Canon 6D camera.

This tripod is lightweight and sturdy. I especially like the quick on/quick off feature for hand-held shooting. The monopod will probably never get used but it's nice to know it's there. Great price too!

The Sunpak Platinum Plus Ultra 7000TM, 2-in-1 70 inch tripod and monopod combination, is well suited for lower weight consumer cameras and camcorders. The legs of the tripod are surprisingly sturdy, though I'm not a fan of all the flimsy / low-quality plastic incorporated into the intersecting points. Also, the center rods, that constitute the monopod portion of this package, are fairly wimpy. This is perplexing to me because I actually own a Sunpak Platinum Plus 6700M monopod, and it's well-constructed and sturdy. Of course, low prices usually go hand-in-hand with a certain amount of compromise. The bottom line on this product is that you get what you pay for.

This tripod is sturdy enough for my Canon T7i easy to set up and reasonably lightweight. Works well for my purposes. The only drawback is that it did not come with a second release plate. A bit disappointing, but overall I am quite satisfied with this purchase.

Selected this tripod from the shelf at Best Buy without reading any reviews, and ultimately made a good choice. This is a strong, sturdy, tall tripod, with a removable monopod. I would have preferred a ball-type head, instead of the separate twist-lock to tighten lateral movement, but for home-use only, it's not an issue with me.

I was looking for a sturdy full size tripod to mount my phone on while videoing. The the clerk recommended this one.
It gets three stars because of the construction at the top of the tripod. The mounting mechanism wobbles and cannot be tightened around the neck.
