Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the sturdiness, lightweight design, and reasonable price of the PlatinumPlus Ultra 7000 tripod and monopod as significant advantages. The included monopod is also a popular feature. However, some users have noted that the panning mechanism could be smoother and that the construction feels somewhat less robust than expected. A few customers also found the tripod's size to be a drawback for portability.

Good value
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good basic tripod. The option of using the center post as a monopod is nice. The head doesn’t pan all that smoothly, so it’s not great for those kind Pb video shots. I’ve used it mostly to hold a video camera focused on the goalie at soccer games, and it works well-stable with no shake. It’s light weight and feels a little flimsy, but has proven to be durable through several seasons.

tripod
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a lightweight, sturdy tripod with a built in monopod. This definitely fits the bill. Has a handle for carrying. The camera mount adjust platform is a not as smooth as I would like. Overall I'd definitely recommend.

I'm no pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I lost my last tripod and needed one to record my son's lacrosse games. This one works pretty well, but does not pan very smoothly. If I had it to do over, I might spend a little more for a better unit.

Sturdy and strong
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this tripod, it is very sturdy and can deal with heavier items unlike cheaper models. For fun I put my entire 3.6 pound laptop on it (folded to tablet mode) with a universal mount and it held it securely and I did not fear for the safety of my expensive computer.

Sturdy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decently priced tripod, it's pretty sturdy as well. Have yet to use the monopod option. It's confusing when tightening and untightening the settings at first, but then you'll get used to what controls what.

The Best Traveling equipment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was sent to Puerto Rico to video tape a documentary for work. I needed a tripod that would be light and easy to manage but keep a steady shot in the rain forest. Due to the area I was limited equipment and was only allowed I could take a DSLR. I was able to carry it for a long period of time and was able to go from normal tripod to the single in the matter of seconds. I didn't miss a beat and was able to capture steady and clear video.

Great tripod!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I broke my tripod a couple months ago and was in need of a new one. This one is very sturdy, and awesome to use. It has lots of ways to adjust your camera for the perfect shot and it feels very secure. I never worry about it tipping over. Best of all, it's not super heavy so carrying it around with you isn't a burden.

For a name like "platinum ultra" one might expect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All the fittings are cheap plastic and it feels flimsy. It is definitely not for the pro, e.g. working wedding photographer. Having said that, I bought this one because I needed to replace another Sunpak tripod. That one also felt cheap, but it did what I needed for over 20 years, so I can't really complain. This is a pretty good price for a tripod that will go 70". And it folds down to a short length and is not very heavy.

This versatile product delivers both quality and functionality, making it a fantastic investment for anyone serious about capturing stunning images. The build quality is impressive; it feels sturdy and durable, yet it remains lightweight enough to carry around easily. I love the 70" height—it's perfect for shooting in a variety of settings, whether I’m at a scenic overlook or capturing events. The adjustable legs provide excellent stability, even on uneven terrain, which gives me confidence when setting up my shots. Converting from a tripod to a monopod is seamless and quick, which is a game-changer for those moments when I need to be more mobile. The monopod is surprisingly sturdy as well, providing great support for my camera during long shoots. The sleek silver design is also a nice touch, giving it a professional look that complements my gear. Overall, the Sunpak PlatinumPlus Ultra 7000 has exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to both amateur and professional photographers alike. Great tripod for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I looked at many tripods for our Nikon D7200. We found the PlatinumPlus Ultra 7000 and thought we would give it a shot. It has been great so far and nice and sturdy for our pictures so far. We added a weight at the bottom to keep it from moving in the wind with it all the way extended to 70”. It’s been a great tripod so far for the money. Can’t go wrong buying this tripod.

Portable and Versatile
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this for my camera to use for videography. Loved the ease of use from this product at a wedding I did for a client. The monopod slips right into the tripod so I was able to setup my tripod for the ceremony with my camera attached to the internal monopod, and then easily and quickly grab the monopod out for mobility to film the ceremony exit and through to the post-ceremony events. Easy to go back and forth from tri to monopod, through all the wedding events and the reception.

Got the job done without issues!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these the day before a large event at work involving capturing video for an enterprise wide streaming video. These were easy to setup, connect the Logitech Zoom camera, and control through out the event. I bought a second one for home use!

Nice tripod in many ways
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this tripod and find it easy to use. I did have to return the first one I purchased within a week because a couple of the screw adjustments quickly stripped out. I am hoping that this does not happen with my second one. I like the leg adjustments as they are easy to use and the tripod seems sturdy enough. Camera also has a nice quick release that is easy to use. I would recommend to friends, but manufacturer does need to make a few minor changes to the Pan/Tilt handle so it doesn't strip out so easily while using.

Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best back for your buck. Tripods can get really expensive and I only use mine for stationary video shots around the house. Not anything strenuous or traveling. So this is the best option! For anyone else looking to get something durable i would recommend this one! Great!
