Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the sturdiness, lightweight design, and reasonable price of the PlatinumPlus Ultra 7000 tripod and monopod as significant advantages. The included monopod is also a popular feature. However, some users have noted that the panning mechanism could be smoother and that the construction feels somewhat less robust than expected. A few customers also found the tripod's size to be a drawback for portability.

This tripod works great! We use it quite often. Super portable, the adjustable legs are nice, and it has weathered well! Good value as well, we didn't want to fork out a ton, and it seems to be doing the job!

I purchased this tripod to replace an older unit. So far this tripod is an excellent product for the money. It is a sturdy unit with two levels to assure a perfect setup. The unit includes two attachments to hold either a cell phone or a Go Pro camera. Unit also can be configured as a monopod.

I really bought this to use with an outdoor micro projector and, occasionally, with my DSLR. I found the head too flimsy to hold the projector steady. So, I removed it and screwed the projector directly onto the center pole. That worked great. It does mean I have to adjust the tilt and angle of the image by manipulating the legs, but once it’s set, it’s solid. Other than that, it folds up very small and weighs little. Haven’t tried the monopod yet.

I have a pretty heavy setup with some observing binoculars, a camera mount and a DSLR camera. This tripod was just right and handled the load easily and was less expensive the others. I seems sturdy and heavy enough to easily support 8 pounds of gear. I'm a happy camper.

The tripod is very light, yet sturdy and stable. It has a great, convenient hook on which to hang your bag, and a super convenient handle to carry it wherever you need it. And the built in level is great to make sure your shots stay straight. And all for just over 50$. Can't be beat. (being used for a Canon 7D mk2)

This is my first tripod. I'm no professional photographer but I love this tripod so far. Main reason I chose this was for the significant weight difference from the other sunpak tripods. This one is heavier and was exactly what I was looking for. I use it primarily for time lapse photography and family photos. The other cheaper sunpak tripods seemed like a light breeze could blow them over. Haven't found a use for the monopod yet but at least it has that option if needed. Besides the weight on this tripod, I chose this one because I wanted to try my hand at cloud time lapses to start out and noticed that this tripod can get a very decent angle upwards to the sky without the handle (forgive me I don't know if there's a technical term for it) getting in the way of the legs of the tripod. Some of the other tripods I looked at were difficult to get a good upward angle cause the handle would hit the frame of the tripod.

Stays stable with a light (or counter weighted payload). However, it is a little difficult to use and manuever, as the stiction of the mechanisms is either too much, or too little (ie, not extremely precise). However, the monopod is awesome, as it is absolutely easy to use (by definition). Overall, the unit is light weight, and easy to carry, either in a bag, or by itself. For camera and small binocular use, it is more than adequate.

I purchased this tripod on a whim. I needed a tripod but was not being picky to care about features but I'm glad I got it. The legs are fairly thick and sturdy. I hate tripods that have those tiny legs. It has a good height to it as well and can be converted to a monopod. I like the padded upper legs and it has a handle. Not the best tripod money can buy but if you don't want to spend a lot get this one.

Really good design for the most part. Out of my own ignorance I screwed up the plastic post for setting camera in place. It should have been more obvious to me but I thik the design could have been more robust. Stout otherwise, easy to carry. Have not used as monopod yet

Bought this a month ago. Initially I thought I should go for the one's where you can fold the legs in. I found this to be more convinient to open and close. It's not heavy at all. Also used it in high winds 35 mph and it was stable and did to move at all. Very happy with this tripod.
