Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the sturdiness, lightweight design, and reasonable price of the PlatinumPlus Ultra 7000 tripod and monopod as significant advantages. The included monopod is also a popular feature. However, some users have noted that the panning mechanism could be smoother and that the construction feels somewhat less robust than expected. A few customers also found the tripod's size to be a drawback for portability.

Such a good tripod, I'm a wedding photographer and I use this when doing dual flash! It's the perfect weight and height and I don't have to worry about if it's sturdy or not for my equipment! Highly recommend!

I have only had a chance to use the tripod a couple of times, once with my digital camera, once with a spotting scope I have. In both cases it offered a steady platform that also allowed fairly easy 3-dimensional movement. It is a nice replacement for the one I had before that recently was broken beyond repair.

This tripod is pretty poorly constructed. Most of the moving parts are cheap plastic. That being said, it is cool to get both a monopod and tripod in one. I use the monopod a lot, but will need to upgrade soon because it is already breaking after a month.

I do a lot of filming and needed a "junk" tripod to use when I didn't feel like dragging out my Manfrottos. Surprisingly, this has incredible height, a reasonably solid feel, holds the camera tight, etc. I may use this in the field more than my Manfrottos because of how easily portable it is!

I chose this tripod because of the height that it would reach I wanted to be able to look down onto my subject. This tripod will reach up to 7 feet and it's very stable and very light.

I purchased this tripod a 2nd time after my first one was lost. This tripod has a good smooth movement left to right as I pan during sports games. I had a different tripod and looked at more expensive products, but they have a slight 'catch' as you pan around, so the video jumps as it moves. This is completely free to rotate. Good height adjustment on all three legs to be able to stand up on uneven surfaces such as bleachers. The only negative I have is that the leg 'lock' on the middle pole which controls the leg angle will not tighten up fully, but that doesn't affect my use. I have not tried the monopod. It also comes with a cell phone attachment in addition to the typical camera attachment. It is just large enough to use over my I-phone 12 pro with an Otterbox case.

Not a bad tripod for the money. What is great is that the center post can be separated from the tripod and be used as a monopod. It would have been nice if the unit was better made and slightly heavier--for stability in windy situations. Also, an adaptor for DSLR use would be a nice inclusion.

I was really excited about picking this item up, and opened it upon receiving it. I expected there to be two separate items in the box, one tripod and one monopod, but apparently it was all in one. Like the tripod converts to a monopod. Besides this, great product and it has proven to be better than my last tripod.

very stable and the legs have no movement at any level of extension which works really good with a bigger camera. The mono pod is an extra that I have started to use more when moving around more.

Tripod is very good and precise. It’s nice becase the top part of the tripod has the metal covered so your hands won’t freeze from the metal If you’re using it outside or in cold weather. It is not as quick as a ball point tripod but is better at keeping everything level. The only thing I am not a fan of is the screwing and unscrewing the part where you can hold to tilt the camera as if it’s too loose the camera can fall and if it is too tight it is not a smooth tilt if you plan on moving the camera up and down

    Monopod locking problems

It's a good tripod, no doubt. Very versatile. But I had problems with its monopod at a recent F1 race. I had problems with the monopod's locking mechanism which slipped during use several times and was also hard to lock at different levels I needs for photos from the grandstands. It is either a weakness in this particular product or it's a fault in the monopod. I will investigate further and contact Best Buy if I need repairs or replacement.

The tripod is easy to carry and quick to set-up. It is very sturdy however the movement of the heads is not as smooth as it could be . there are times when I'm videoing and have had to Move the entire tripod to get the shot and angle I wanted. Even with the stiff movement I find the tripod to be a great asset as a photographer and videographer.
